This place is great. I love this hibachi steakhouse. I like to go here on my birthday.

We recently went to Shogun for our first time. We found the hibachi chef to be very friendly, and he worked hard to make our family have a good time. The main food was good, and we had no issues with anything from him. The fried rice was good, and all of the meats were cooked properly. The only food we had issues with were the salad and soup. We've had much better at other hibachi restaurants, and we were a little underwhelmed with it. The salad was rather bland without nearly enough dressing on it, and the soup was just... mediocre. My daughter had a California roll and liked it. Service was also a little upsetting. We did not get a refill on our drinks the entire time we were there. I honestly don't think our waitress checked on us the entire time. That was upsetting to us, and is one of my largest pet peeves in dining out. With other hibachi places in the area, the service thing will stop us from ever going back on our own. Would we go back for a birthday party or some event? Yes--the main food was good, so I wouldn't be turned off of going. However, don't expect me to willingly choose to go somewhere where the server wouldn't fill up our drink. read more

Shogun was the first hibachi experience I ever had and we decided to get it for my paps 95th bday. It was packaged beautifully and everything came fresh and hot. The filet was cooked perfect and the sushi was fresh. Really enjoyed this meal with the people I love! read more

We went for a celebration for my son-in-law. It used to be one of our favorite places to go in Uniontown and we went quite frequently. The food is always great and the service and the hibachi chef were always fun and amazing. Sadly, this is no longer the case! Ever since they started doing that all you can eat for $21 thing it has gone downhill quickly! The service is horrible. Not only did the waitress get part of our drink order wrong she never even bothered to correct it. She never came back to check and see if we needed anything until she brought us our check at the end and informed us that it would be five dollars a person if we wanted to take home our leftovers. Our hibachi chef was not entertaining at all. He was very quick and very impersonal. Nothing like it used to be! We will never be back and left very disappointed. Just makes me sad because this was something we always enjoyed doing. read more

This place was an absolute disaster from start to finish. The staff (the non american ones) acted like they didn't want to be there, ignoring us for long stretches. When the food finally showed up, it was either burnt or completely tasteless--clearly made with no care or skill. The whole restaurant felt dirty and uncomfortable my daughter spotted a cockroach in the back corner by the sushi guys so I continued to look around and i seen some boxs with some "nesting" in them like rats or mice, and the prices were a complete rip-off for what you get. I wouldn't wish this experience on anyone and will never be coming back. read more

I'm in town for one night and needed a place to eat. It seems like most of the dinner spots are big chain restaurants so we decided to stop here. The service was good and quick, I got the hibachi New York strip steak but I didn't sit at the hibachi table. The steak was good! Nothing special but it was definitely better than expected. I got shrimp shumai as an appetizer and that was decent too. The soup and side salad that the food came with were just okay. Didn't have any issue with this place - other than it is located within a dying mall. Came here on New Years Day when apparently the rest of the town that isn't a chain is closed up. Walked in and immediately was sat at a hibachi table. Ordered some drinks and a combo meal, adding a sushi roll which was a crab lovers roll. The hibachi comes with soup AND salad, yet we only got a soup. Ok? The sushi roll was ok. For whatever reason they didn't have a Philly roll on the menu. Ok? As for the cook and the presentation it was very good and the portions were good. The shrimp probably could have been cooked longer - as there was a pungent fish smell accompanying them which isn't really regular in these situations. I stopped there a few weeks ago for lunch. My order was taken in a short time and ordered an extra miso soup which had no tofu, green onions only two strands of dashi in the bowl of broth. I had the Tempura Chicken Lunch which was OK. However, the waitress never came back to check on me and I needed refill on the hot tea. An older lady , most likely owner, came with the bill about 15 minutes later which I left a nice tip for the waitress. She never acknowledged or the waitress to thank me for my generous tip. I've been there before and was pleased with food and service. The experience is not consistent, so you have to take your chances of what you may see. read more

Terrible food. Rude chefs. They will take out water guns and spray u down w them n drench you. I was sprayed directly in the face and he refused to stop. I've never had that experience anywhere and I'm pretty upset. As an adult sitting there paying 30$ for a meal that's not what I wanted. He knew I was pretty upset and continued to throw food at me. My shirt is ruined w oil stains. As soon as the food was done we were asked if we needed a few more minutes to eat or wanted a box....I donno if we could have as a worse experience. This is the only Hibachi place I've been to. Everytime the food is amazing. It's a wonderful place to gather with family and friends. I've always had a great time coming here. The highlight is when the cooks do "funny" things with the "saki" in your mouth. They see how long you can go. They do make it enjoyable and the food is absolutely amazing. Sushi was really tasty, and seemed fairly priced and portioned well. Drinks were a fair price. We tried the Specialty board items thinking it was sushi and it turned out to be stuff jalopeno appetizer (maybe our mistake but the info on the Specialty board made us believe it was sushi,, and when we asked our waitress about it she just read the board back to us, both could have been more clear) we tried Yaki udon noodles to go and it came with a side of miso which was lacking all ingredients (no onion, or mushroom) but the noodles were flavorful and an okay portion size. Our waitress was super sweet but missed our condiments for the to-go. Overall the ambiance and sushi were a delight so I would come back. This is my go to for sushi when in Uniontown. I love the house salad with the creamy dressing. We usually come in and get the lunch special with two or three rolls and the soup and salad. We just did two large salads and eel avocado rolls, spicy tuna rolls, yellowtail jalapeño and the Alaska roll. My only complaint was that the avocado wasn't ripe enough. The server was very sweet and quick on her feet. Overall, this place always has great service and food. Love it! read more

Really good food! Recommend doing take out. Had a really good meal and the cook did an awesome job. We always tip the cook at the end of him cooking. When we were getting our bill the lady practically waited till we put money in it. Our bill was 94$ and we gave her a 100$ bill. Asked if we wanted change then asked what about tip. We were gonna put the tip in at first but she was waiting for the money so we asked for change so we could leave more then a 6$ tip. The attitude we received from her was terrible so we ended up getting up to leave and she stopped us demanding a bigger tip!!!! They were able to accommodate our family members who need gluten-free vegan entrees, with rice, GF soy sauce, etc. that was cooked in the main kitchen and brought out to the Hibachi. This restaurant has the best Hibachi performance so far. An individual cook will cook the Hibachi for each table. The dining environment is awesome: clean, nice music, good decoration. The cocktail is 6$ and tastes great. The Hibachi is ~18$ each dish but worth the price, and great choices include shrimp, steak and filet. Anyway, a five-star recommendation! I don't know why others bother the serving speed, but our cocktail, free soup and salad was served almost immediately and the Hibachi was also served fast on July 4th. Plenty of free parking outside. My significant other and I dined at Shogun twice during our visit to Farmington PA. The ambiance is nice, wood floors, with streamline décor. During both visits we were seated quickly at a grill. On the first visit, my significant other ordered a combination of steak and salmon. I ordered chicken. The portions are ample and the food was good. We love this place. Just love it. You get seated near immediately, the only wait is if you have too few to fill a section (8 people). Ordering is difficult, simply because there is so much great food to try. You have soup & salad and then the show. These chefs are hilarious and talented. Every time we go the food is cooked exactly as it should be, the shellfish always kept & cooked safely away from the rest. You get a substantial amount of food for your money. It is our standard for birthday dinners in our family. Just the best time. While it is a bit pricey, it is well worth it. read more
