Server took our order, dropped it off, and then brought the check. Didn't bother to see if everything was okay. It would have been nice to have had "melted" cheese on my burger and a "real" lemon slice instead of a craft of imitation lemon juice on the table. One word... disgusting. First time ever eating at a Shoney's and I will never ever do it again. Plates were not clean. All the buffet items looked gross. NONE of the food items were labeled as to what they were. My mother ordered scrambled egg whites and when the waitress brought them out I was shocked she even had the audacity to set them on our table. I should have taken a photo. There was so much brown greasy oil it was sickening. Needless to say - common sense - she didn't eat any of them. Our whole family has been up all night feeling sick to our stomach's. I'll spare you the details. And NO - none of us were feeling sick whatsoever before eating at this Shoney's. This was a horrible, unsanitary, disgusting experience. We will never be back. had a fly flying around in the store the food was lukewarm. Their steak was not up to was in the wrong spot. could not have a salad because of the citrus allergy could not have the mac & cheese they called pepper jack because not enough milk in it was not what it said. If I could give a negative star review this would be it. I'm not a very picky eater and I can eat just about anything. With that said, Shoney's buffet/ salad bar is so gross!! The food is nasty!! The bar isn't kept up as well as it should be. Food looks old and dried out and the salad dressings and pudding and other foods have a blend of different items from the bar floating in them. The food choices are always the same it seems. Their menu never seems to change either. The only thing worth eating was their fried chicken and their lemon cake they had on the bar. Save yourself some time and try some where else to eat. I honestly don't know how this place is still open?!! read more

Buffet Food was very tasty, but most of what I had was not hot enough. Everything was clean & neat. The biggest factor in giving 4 stars was the awesome personality of & excellent service from our waitress Cheyenne. Price for the buffet was reasonable at less than $11 a person. read more

Best biscuits and gravy anywhere around! We eat there often at the buffet. Food is always delicious and fresh. Had a wonderful dining experience today, thanks especially to manager Abby. We had arrived at 1:45; breakfast is usually taken up at 2:00. For some reason they had taken breakfast up early and we weren't able to get some of the breakfast items. Manager brought us out sausage, gravy and eggs, and put a batch of biscuits in oven for us. That's GREAT customer service!! Will definitely go back and would recommend highly. read more

Never will eat there again....my husband ordered a turkey club and I ordered a chicken sandwich. Waited over 20 minutes for my husband to get his food but I waited another 15 minutes until we decided to get up to leave and right when we're paying for my husband sandwich they said it was ready. Great service, staff and cleanliness. The buffet was by far the best country cooking I've eaten. I had two pork cutlets with mashed potatoes, green beans and mushroom gravy. Very fresh food and my stomach couldn't have been more full at the end. read more

I can't believe people eat here twice. I was staying at a hotel nearby while driving through and wanted something that wasn't fast food. The "salad" bar had exactly one fresh vegetable which was shredded carrots. And exactly one protein (for salads) which was bacon. I seriously can't believe this place is in business and I'm praying I don't get food poisoning I survived covid this year and now I'm waiting for this terrible buffet to take me out. read more

This used to be a well run restaurant when it first opened, but now they could care less about the quality of the food. Everything taste as if it was leftovers from last week. The salad dressings are so nasty because they have been mixed together by customers and when I picked up a ladle to get some italian dressing, the ladle was covered in dressing from one of the other dressings. The waitresses will ask you how it is and when you complain, you can hear them say, I'm sorry as they rush away. It's a rather nasty place in my opinion and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone I know. read more

It was my idea to try this place again. The past visit was very bad and this visit was no better. The sign says wait to be seated. So after 11 minutes we sat ourselves. The lady sweeping the floors got us our drinks. However we had no silverware, straws, napkins or salt and pepper. We waited for our server to show up. He didn't come to the table until 15 minutes later. By that time, I went upfront and got all the items we didn't have that should have been set out. I went behind the counter and got them myself since nobody was running the front. We all got our food from the buffet. Most was good. However 3 of us had salad with shredded cheese that tasted like it was spoiled. We tried to tell the worker that was at the buffet about it but she was off to the side on her cell phone and didn't acknowledge me or my wife when we tried to get her attention. We never got refills for drinks nor did anyone take our plates from the table. We paid for our meal and told the little blonde girl that was the manager on duty what happened. She offered a full refund to us. However we sat to eat the food. It was the service to was an abomination. They took the shredded cheese from the salad area which she said didn't smell right. It was not busy there so for the lack of good customer service, there was no call for this. I will not go back to any of their locations. read more

We stopped here on our way home from vacation. We quit going to shoney's along time ago because the quality had tanked. This was a vast improvement over the middle Tennessee locations. I had the fish and chips. I was pleasantly surprised. The fish was excellent as were the onion rings. It was like the shoney's of old. We'll make it a point to stop again. read more

We recently moved to Crossville and were looking for a nice restaurant for the family. We were pleasantly surprised when walking in the door, we have never been to Shoney's and had heard mixed reviews. The restaurant was very comfortable and the smell of the food had us all excited to see the buffet. Each member of our family enjoys different foods, which can usually make it difficult to choose a place that satisfies everyone. We enjoyed everything we chose and will definitely be returning. I personally will be getting the catfish..it was delicious! Our waitress was terrific as well as the rest of the staff who helped us. read more

Just wanted a place to eat besides the regular fast food joints and this place sufficed. Fairly bland buffet,( my husband had it) but still serving b'fast along with luncheon food. Wife and I had breakfast at Shoney's this morning for the first time in many years. The restaurant was packed with people waiting to get inside. We went inside and were greeted promptly and were seated very quickly. The restaurant was very clean, the service was fast but friendly and overall it was a very pleasant experience. Well lets just say I was pleasantly surprised. The restaurant had been remodeled, and it was CLEAN. The food was hot and fresh. The server was attentive and friendly. Better than any Shoney's I have eaten at in a long time. My daughter said the cabbage soup was a little off, but everything else was so good, I would not call it a issue. 20 min's to get a drink and had to help my wife with her Lowe blood sugar because of the wait that took 20 min's and did not clean the table and all of them need to work on team work on customer assistance and wife couldn't eat her food because she got so sick. They still charged me for her food and wouldn't let me speak to a manager. read more
