While driving through Crossville we stumbled upon this place while looking for a good restaurant as we pass through Crossville, TN. Service was awesome. The waitress was super friendly and genuine. We ordered the watermelon punch with Jack Daniels which was super yummy and dangerously good. I had the country fried steak which is typically my go to dish for these types of country restaurants. Great stop after our busy day shopping on the 127 Yard sale. Savannah R. was pleasant and helpful to suggest her favorites on the menu at my request. She kept our ice tea refilled regularly and served everyone with a smile. The very busy CB also seated everyone in an orderly way with ease despite how overly busy they were. Cracker Barrel in general has gone down hill. They keep trying to change things and it's not in a good direction. They don't even have the good roast beef gravy for the mashed potato's anymore. It's like the brown gravy you make from a packet now. The intercom system must be down because they were telling the entire time which made it very loud and hard to have conversation. This is probably the worst visit to a CB that I've ever had. BE SURE TO COUNT YOUR CHANGE! The cashier tried to jip me $20. I would have thought it was just an error getting out the wrong change, but she literally counted it like, "Twenty, Forty, Eighty" as she put it in my hand, I guess hoping I wouldn't notice there were only 3-$20 bills that she gave me. Then came the excuses... I didn't raise a fuss, just said it happens and continued on. The waitress was new, and very overwhelmed. They kept sitting her back to back, while the waitress for the table behind me had time to stand there and talk to her table about her farm for 15 minutes. I ordered fried chicken, no gravy. It came out with gravy. I asked for it to be fixed, and they literally scraped what gravy they could off of it and brought it back out. Definitely do not recommend. read more

This is a very pleasant CB that follows the formula perfectly. The usual store out front with two sections of restaurant seating. It is now all non-smoking, which I appreciate. Plenty of staff (and customers) for a late weeknight dinner, I was seated immediately and my waitress (Morgan) took my drink and dinner order. The food was brought out promptly and was exactly what I ordered. A very large salad that was more "stuff" than lettuce with the dressing on the side. Delicious and just what I wanted. My water glass never emptied with several servers stopping by to refill it, even though I was not in their section. At $10 including tip, I received great value for my money. This could just as easily have been the Cracker Barrel in Deerfield Beach, Florida, Springdale Arkansas or Fenton Missouri. Excellent! read more

I met a friend at the Crossville location today, as it is located halfway between us (we each drove an hour). I used the waitlist app to avoid crowds there as much as possible. Got there, we were both wearing masks due to COVID, and were about the only ones doing so other than staff. The customers were unmasked and crowded into the store area. We left. I called and complained to the manager who stated that since Cumberland County had not mandated masks there was nothing they could do. Cracker Barrel, let me give you some suggestions: - limit the number of people coming in and out of your business by placing an employee at the door - REQUIRE masks!!! Heaven forbid, you spend money to have some disposable ones there to offer customers! - encourage social distancing using tape and directional cues around your store, not just cash registers For God's sake, Cracker Barrel customers, have a little respect! It's not a political issue. I am a conservative! That has no bearing on whether I wear a mask. I do so out of public health concerns and caring for others. COVID is real, it's here.
