Me and my girlfriend took the intro pistol class and we learned a lot and had a good time. We wanted to get our gun permit but wanted to take a class first. The class is very informative and with lots of good hands on activities. The instructor took all his guns and we were able to practice safely unloading a weapon. They are 100% committed to safety, so much that even I was like "ok I'm sure there is no bullet in there no need to triple check" but I understand why and shows the professionalism. We were able to shoot 25-30 rounds. We also signed up to take the permit exam right after and we did and passed. We will be purchasing our guns soon and once we get a couple of range days behind us for practice we are considering taking some more advanced classes with them. read more

Received my NRA Pistol Orientation certificate through this school and was more than satisfied with the course. The instructor was very knowledgeable and friendly and the fees are quite reasonable. The only reason for my 4 stars instead of 5 is because I'm not a huge fan of the shooting range where the classes take place. read more

I recently signed up based on the Yelp Reviews. The first steps pistol class with Edmund was as good as people were saying. Here is the rundown: The instructors are solid, approachable and patient. I felt that I was learning all the basics I would need and then some. If you are looking for a basic skill refresher or a complete ground-up instruction this is a great class. They had 4 instructors for a class of about 20 and each was well experienced and full of knowledge ( support instructors include a veteran officer that is very solid to learn from as well) -- Re Sharpshooter Sharpshooter doesn't feel like a luxury spa but it does the job. Along with the class works great. If you are new to ranges and want a lot of supervision or support (outside of class) and the latest modern equipment might want to start somewhere else, but really nothing wrong with it, and the broken-in atmosphere is kinda cool for a range.. Heard the comments but when I was there people at the counter were more friendly than many of the ranges I've been to since. Bottom line is I'll be back. -- Ok I digress - For 100 bucks this is class is a steal - includes about 50 rounds of live fire training with an instructor alongside. Also the instructors are knowledgable, cool, and mellow , would be fine recommending it to any of my my family or friends. read more

This is an excellent investment that every new owner should take. They stress gun safety above all else so you will come out of class very aware that safety is paramount to gun ownership. I took their Utah CCW class and was delighted that they provide all the forms, even the envelope to send to the Utah BCI. They provide fingerprinting for $10 prior to the class. I think anyone cannot beat their price and service. I highly recommend Shoot Safe Learning to anyone looking to get a CCW or just taking a class for gun ownership. read more

Attended the Beginner Handgun Safety course today. It was my first time EVERY touching a gun. I was a little nervous and had sweaty palms all day (they recommend wearing pants and long sleeve, and it was pretty hot in the classroom and shooting range) due to my nerves, attire and no A/C. The instructors are ALL AMAZING!!!! They truly make this class fly by, and make it very fun and enjoyable. Don't get me wrong, they all are very professional. I feel much more comfortable handling a hand gun now. They all bring in their collections of guns and let you handle all of them, which is helpful when it comes to selecting a gun for yourself. This course is good for all ages. There was a 12 year old boy in our class, with his mother, who ended up being the best target shooter in our class. He won the free hat (prize) at the end of the day. The instructor said that women are normally better shooters than men. The ladies in our class were no exception. They all did very well and seemed very happy with the class. The course seems great for kids since it "takes away the curiosity of guns" since they will be taught proper safety and handling. I recommend .22 for kids and ladies, just to start with, since they have less recoil and noise. Once you get over the fear of recoil, you can move up comfortably in caliber. I highly recommend this course to anyone new or long time removed from handling guns. Great job guys!!! Thank you for all your help and patience. I'll be back for a Home Defense course and/or CCW. read more

(inside joke) Pistol Skill Builder Course - 1/13/13 The instructors at Shoot Safe Learning are professional and yet compassionate to the needs of their students. They went above and beyond as they stayed extra just to help a couple of people that were struggling with their shooting. The presentation was 1st rate as they started with gun safety and gun handling and seamlessly transitioned into how to shoot and how to remedy gun malfunctions. From there they moved into scenarios and how to combat shoot and reload. I will be taking every course they offer. read more

I finished the 16-hour California CCW Training course with Advanced Tactical Pistol training. Once again Edmund and his staff did an excellent job in hands-on pistol training and made the class safe, informative and fun. We used a private section of "A Place to Shoot" range in Santa Clarita. The class is well organized and Edmund systematically reviews every phase of handgun fundamentals. We go over safety, accuracy, shooting on the move, multiple targets, tactical reloads, malfunctions, close-quarter, shooting from the ground, behind barriers, opposite hand and other issues of tactical gunfights. Students include NRA certified instructors, ex-military, law enforcement and firearms enthusiast who bond together and help & encourage each other to improve at live-fire tactical training. I gained a lot of confidence when I finished first in our class at our timed obstacle course during the first-day of training. I will definitely go back for more Shoot-safe learning training classes. read more

What can I say - very informative class, lasted longer than expected, because instructors were very kind to answer all student questions in very detail. Took the Pistol Basics course last week and can't believe that I didn't take it earlier. Amazing education. Great focus on safety throughout the entire course. Be prepared as it can run up to 4 hours with a full class, I had 12 people in mine. Edmund makes sure the class is fun and informative, but more importantly, safe. He had 3 volunteer instructors in the class to monitor us, effectively making it a 3:1 ratio of student to instructor, which was extremely helpful once we went to the range. If you're scared to try, don't worry, the smaller .22 Ruger provided at the range is easy enough to handle for men and women, but if you want more power (like I did) you can rent at the range. Be warned though...a .40 cal IS a lot of power. (Lesson learned). Needless to say, if you simply want become comfortable with a firearm, understand how to safely use, load, unload, rack and fire, then this is the class for you. The absolute best first step to firearm safety and shooting with top class instructors. You will NOT fall asleep in this course and will want to return for more advanced training. read more
