They weren't friendly or welcoming and seemed much more attentive to regulars or people they knew. They took the seller's ID right away, but only checked my information much later. They then denied the PPT because my California driver's license was missing a space in my last name, even though my passport card and FSC showed my correct legal name. They explicitly stated that the ATF does not allow this exact situation, but four other FFLs had no issue with the same documents and I could not find any ATF guidance supporting that claim. It felt like an excuse rather than a legitimate requirement. Had I been buying directly from them instead of bringing in a $10 PPT, I doubt this would have been handled the same way. I won't be returning.

Cheryl was very engaging, funny, and informative. Most of the class consists of a classroom portion where Cheryl will inform you of important and relevant laws to be aware of when it comes to your firearm. You'd think this info would be boring but Cheryl taught the information in such an engaging way that made it easy to retain the info. The last part of the class consists of actually shooting a pistol at a nearby shooting range. My first time shooting a pistol and while it was nerve wracking at first, I felt completely safe with Cheryl! I highly recommend Cheryl and CAS & Sons Protective Group for their basic pistol class. The class taught about safety, firearm and bullet mechanics, and how the firearm's shape affects its dynamics, its firing, and its feel. Roy provided us with dummy firearms to handle while we learned about them before holding an actual weapon. We were walked through each step carefully and efficiently until I felt like I could hold an actual weapon and use it. We learned how to clean firearms, hold them properly, aim properly, and more. They notified me less than an hour after I got the UPS notice that the package arrived at their location. I showed up just a short while later to start the process. Its a nice small shop in a quiet part of town. I really appreciated how chill the atmosphere was. I think it took all of 10 minutes to get the paperwork done, and off I went. 10 days wrapped, and I went for my pickup today. Again, the shop was super chill. Took less than 10 minutes to wrap everything up. Start to finish, the process was painless. Most gun shops are typically not places I'm super comfortable at. They tend to have semi aggressive staff, customers, or both. And they also tend to be very vocal about their political affiliations. VC Armory had none of those things. That alone is going to make them my go to LGS from here on out.

They were so patient and went above and beyond to make me comfortable. Fight training of any kind can be very intimidating, especially when. you look around the room and everyone looks like they know what they're doing. I was made to feel very comfortable and safe. As far as the class went, it was RAD! The instructor had me focus on myself and my form. He never put me in any situation where I wasn't ready for. In fact he gave me drills to just keep practicing and then would come and check on me and when I was ready he gave me a new move. I really appreciated the patience and the immediate safety/comfort I felt.
