I don't often write reviews, but when a business goes above and beyond, I owe it to them to do so. TLDR: the class I took (16hr CCW) was an eye opener. What you learn is the tip of the iceberg of what you MUST know if you decide to carry. They do not rubberstamp you to get your CCW. They make certain to teach you to be reasonably proficient in the basics of safety and gun operation. If you want someone to just pass you, not only is Seven 4 Para not right for you but also you should seriously reconsider carrying. Or better yet, take their course and you will come to the same conclusion I did: carrying requires real practice and skill building without which you are more of a liability with a firearm than without. Seriously. The long version: The instructors (Eloy & Alec) are very well qualified. One of them is active duty law enforcement and former military and the other does private security work and is also former special forces. These are not retired guys who pivoted to instruction. They do this for a living. It is a way of life for them, not a hobby. That is who you want training you to carry a gun. Full stop. I'm an experienced gun owner and been shooting off and on since I was 8. I'm a hunter and even reload my own rounds. I know a thing or two about guns, and firearm safety is the most important aspect of gun ownership. I thought I was a 10/10 on gun safety. After taking Eloy and Alec's class, I learned I was really an 8/10. Practices I thought were solid are just somewhat safe and not "best practice." Learning this in and of itself is worth much more than the cost of the class. Their 16hr CCW course exposes you to scenarios you wouldn't otherwise think about on your own. It points you in the right direction of how to prepare, how to think, and what you need to train for. When pre-visualizing, most think about the self-defense event only. Eloy and Alec teach you to think about the before, during, and after in tandem with the mental, emotional, and physical repercussions. These guys carefully and patiently help you along your journey. Their class size max is 8 ppl with 2 instructors. Think about that student/teacher ratio for a minute. High quality private schools are 8:1. I asked a ton of questions, and they were both happy to answer them and happy I asked them. Took a 2 day CCW course with Seven 4 Para. Excellent course. The instructors are very knowledgeable but demanding of the students in a good way. Be advised this is not an easy pass class. They demand safety and consistency from the students and they will fail you if you don't pass the dry fire manipulations. But they are fair and go over all techniques expected of the students multiple times in advance of testing. This course provides an experience above and beyond the baseline of what is required to be taught in CCW courses. This is the place to come if you are looking to get your CCW training. The instructors are very thorough and well experienced. This isn't the our typical watch a video and every pass type of place. This is a good thing because if you think you know about your hand gun and skills you have no idea. They opened my eyes to many scenarios and true life events that you would not be ready for without the proper training. We did force in force training as a part of the class and let me tell you the reactions you think you would have go out the window just with a little pressure added. The instructors properly explained what to look for and most importantly how to operate your hand gun with safety as the number one priority. I am very pleased to have been part of this training. If you are looking to further your marksmanship skills and actual good training this is your place. I have never taken a course but I have seen plenty of instructors teach and never explain to their students and their students often fall back to bad habits but not here. The fundamentals and proper technique is stressed in the course and you will become a way better shooter for it. Practice doesn't make perfect, perfect practice makes perfect and I have never shot better nor had a better group of instructors in my life. not even during most of my time in the military. Trained in their systema program. Their classes are a break from the normal sports oriented martial arts, offering reality based practical self defense. The instructor comes from a diverse background of Asian martial arts as well as modern combatives. I play paintball and airsoft but never fired a live round in my life until I took the "basic" pistol class at Seven 4 Para. With safety and excellence as one of the main goals, students are held to high expectations which is a direct result of first time shooters making long time veterans to a range look like noobs.
