Do you want a safe place to shoot? Don't go there: Unsupervised and reckless shooters. Do you want a confortable place to shoot? Don't go there: Poorly lit , claustrophobic. Do you want to deal with corteous sales people? Don't go there: Rude, cocky and arrogant. Do you want to deal with people who knows the law? Don't go there: If you have a gun shipped there and have an out of state DL and a local car registration they should deliver the gun - they wont. Do you want to buy something at a reasonable price? Don't go there: You can buy anything they have at 20 to 40 % lower at Able Ammo, Gander Mountain, Midway, etc. Finally...do you want to have a pleasant day? Don't go there. read more

We LOVE this place! Shooting is something we love to do and this place is perfect for a Friday night date night to shoot targets and practice. Everyone there is really helpful. We haven't rented many weapons as we go to practice with ours. There are always some pretty cool targets to buy and if we forget our ammo we can purchase some from there. read more

I've been going here weekly since they opened and I can't say anything negative. The staff have always been courteous and friendly. If you use the range, they've recently modernized to computer forms so you only have to fill the liability information out once and you're good for a year. It speeds up the check in process 10 fold. I was told that I can not make reservations over the phone for range time, unless I was a member. I went into the store to reserve a lane and was told that they would have to call me to let me know my lane was ready and that I could not wait in the store. So, you mean to tell me that I have to come into the store only to have to leave again? Shame on you shooters world. You changed your policies to only benefit your needs and not the customers. Came here for the first time the other day with a friend who had never shot a gun before. The staff was great with her and walked her thru the process until she felt comfortable enough to go inside the range. When the Glock 9mm was too much power for her, they switched her to a ,22 and did not charge us for the 2nd rental. I was able to find the things I needed for my own gun. Was visiting Arizona for spring break and stopped by. The staff was very friendly and one employee accommodated my friend and I. We were first time shooters and didn't want to go inside without an instructor but there was no available ones until later. I was given a .22 rifle from my father which was given to him from his father which was given to him from his father. My wife and I went in not knowing much about the gun. My wife Julie & I got here a little after 4p on Friday ... Ladies day(ladies fees are waved).We had learned or lesson getting here later on our last visit for Ladies day & waited for what seemed forever. I noticed ALL the workers were nice and not the least bit grumpy this time around as well. Could be another reason to come here before 5 on what I believe is probably there busiest night of the week. I brought my own firearm & ammo (there ammo is a little pricey for me & keep in mind you have to buy there ammo if your renting a weapon from them). But if u do use there weapons the first one is FREE on ladies day. Anyways, eye and hearing protection are also free always. Targets are inexpensive. I suggest upgrading to the better ones they'll make your time there much more fun. 62 rounds and only $11+ later, I think we were in and out of there in about 40min. Almost a little too quick for a DateNight.... LOL! read more

Horrible customer service. Bought a membership and 3 days later $100.00 cheaper. Patty at store said too bad you bought it 3 days before sale.Pop up sale no price adjustment. Manager who Patty said can allow such adjustments Olga, will not even respond to my email. They have my $399.00 but the 2 more classes and the guns plus ammo We will be buying will be done elsewhere. So they are giving up probably close to $2,000.00 to save $100.00 and a reputation for a decent customer service rating for their business. Not very smart business. read more

Rather expensive @ $18/hr PER PERSON. 2 people share a lane, they can only shoot one at a time, but both pay. You would be better off each getting your own lane. Do NOT EVER use this place as an FFL. I finally called ATF for status of stamp, and was told it had been approved 2 months earlier. Shooters World sat on it for ~6 weeks and never called. And they charged me $75 for this service. I just recently moved in the area from Chicago and wanted to try a indoor range to compare it to "The Range at 355" with is my home range in Chicago. The people was very nice and friendly and they have a lot of accessories. It's a very clean facility and the range itself is air conditioned and temp is very comfortable. It doesn't have Action Target system which means you use a toggle to send and retrieve your target. Overall...not a bad indoor range. I will return for target practice, but will be putting time in at a outdoor range to practice tactical and competition. read more

This was my first time EVER in a Gun store/Range. I'm an African American Female and I went with my Husband and son. The staff was unbelievably helpful, did not treat us impartial or indifferent. We went the other day to look at handguns and use the range. Our experience in the sales are was great and we received some very useful information by the very knowledgeable and friendly salesman, sorry I don't remember his name. When we went to the range area we were helped immediately by another helpful, courteous employee and away we went to the range. We encountered several problems on the range and had to either return to the desk or beat on the window to get these resolved since there was No Range Officer for the entire time we were there. When we exited I could see at least five employees standing at the Range Desk standing there with nothing to do. I don't understand how, in all other respects, they run a great store, but ignore the part where the most critical safety issues can occur. If I go to use the range again I will make sure that there'll be a Range Officer before I enter the range. read more

It was my and my daughters first time ever shooting a gun or at a shooting range. I went with a friend that had experience and their own gun. The guy at the service counter was amazing and so patient. He gave us a run down of all safety measures and how to hold the gun he recommended I rent. I was amazed how much time he was able to help us. I appreciated so much. It was a great experience and it wasn't just the one guy but everyone was so helpful. Went on a day trip to Arizona. After we ate, i was looking for things to do. Decided to go to shooters world because i recently bought a Glock 17 and wanted to test one out before the background check completed (10 days) The place was pretty big with many things to choose from (i.e targets, gear, etc) the people at the counter were very knowledgeable and friendly. Filled out the paperwork, went through a couple boxes of ammo, and left. Very clean place. Two handgun rentals, two pairs of eyes and ears (goggles and over the ear protection) and two boxes of ammk (50 rounds each) which cost about 80 bucks total. I have purchased a gun from here and also gone here several times to shoot with friends and my husband. Purchasing a gun from them was a great experience. I purchased it for my husband as a gift and am not that experienced in knowing the ins and outs of guns. The salesman was very helpful in helping me figure out what my husband would like. I have only came here on Fridays, well, because it's LADIES NIGHT of course. My free lane and free gun saves my boyfriend a buck or two haha, but because of that reason it is sometimes packed and the waiting line may vary from 10 minutes to an hour. Just depends on your luck. I am a 70 year old recent widow who has decided to buy my first gun. David at Shooter's World Peoria was such a help to me. I was concerned when I found my fingers were not strong enough to pull the trigger on some and I was not strong enough to pull the slide on top. I figured at 70 things were only going to get harder as time goes on. Then David had me try a Smith and Wesson EZ model which I could handle the mechanics on; however, they did not have any for sale in their store. David sent me to their other store where I was able to get what I needed. David was so patient and knowledgeable that I plan to take classes from him. Right now, I am trying to coordinate classes with three other friends who already have guns but would like to learn more. I gave the five star rating to David! This would have been a very poor rating if I had rated it based on the older gentleman who first helped (or maybe I should say did not really help at all) when I went to the counter to buy. My son took me shooting at Shooter's World on a Saturday afternoon -- this is the one on Cactus Rd. This facility is new and therefore very clean and updated. The selection of rentals is impressive. We came with a few guns of our own, and rented some others for fun. There are several targets available, some standard bulls-eye, others are silly and fun. As we got checked-in we told the clerk (an older gentleman) what we had, and that we brought some ammo for some rentals (and showed him). He said that's fine. Got signed-in and checked-off. They require ear and eye protection, we had all that, but still glad they asked. Went to our stall and set up targets. The distance down range is adjustable and approximate. Everything was great up to the point where we started shooting one of the rentals; a mini-14 .223 semi-auto house rifle that had some problems. Some ammo didn't fire and that didn't bother me too much, it's not their fault - they provided the ammo but obviously they didn't manufacture it. (We waited 10 seconds, then clear the dud). The gun was SOAKING WET with gun oil and would jam on every clip. We spoke to a young attendant about the constant jamming; he said "I just cleaned that gun myself, it should be good to go". Well, it kept jamming and one round the bullet was pushed into the casing - potentially dangerous! So we stopped using it. Another rental was a .22 rifle. It worked fine and as far as I'm concerned, that's all you need for an INDOOR range. ( A shooter's skill has nothing to do with caliber size.) Only issue was that the sights were WAY OFF. For a .22 it's kind-off okay because part of the sport is finding where it's off and making adjustments during aiming on the next shot, but these sights were about 8 to 10 inches off. They should have dialed these in closer than that. Again, not enough to be concerned about. My main issue was when we were leaving -- we told the guy at the counter ( a different person from check-in) about the jamming problem with the .223. I told him I suspected the gun had too much cleaning oil and the added friction probably contributed to the jamming (I tried to be nice about it since he really didn't have anything to do with it). We showed him the casing with the bullet pushed in. He noticed it was a Remington round and proceed to BLAST us verbally that if the round went off we'd be buying them a new gun because it wasn't a house issued bullet. (Never-mind that we showed them our ammo before we rented and they said "okay") The way I see it is we were just giving this young man some information about a problem with their product, yet he choose to get offended and treat us like we did something wrong. My son and I spent a little over an hour there and dropped a little over $160. If you have a business with paying customers, the customer is KING. If we bring something to their attention, just take note of it and check it out, Don't bash the customer just for giving feedback. For as much as we spent, they should be thanking us for our business and hope we come back. With his attitude I don't care to come back at all - EVER. So Shooter's World says that Remington ammo is inferior and should not be used. In that case, when we showed them they should have let us know in the beginning and not change their minds about it afterwards. BTW, I will write Remington about this, let's see what they have to say. read more

Great date night???? Let me explain OK? Friday is ladies day...... That's right FREE eye protection, ear protection, shooting lane, and gun rental!! Ladies pay for ammo and targets. I went last Friday and we ended up paying about $10 for a new experience. We had 100 rounds of ammo and a target to shoot up. That's right we can share as well so the both of us enjoyed the FREE gun rental and lane. They even gave me eye protection and ear protection for FREE. Also no dress code, I was use to gun ranges with closed toe shoes, long pants requirement's NOT here! You can wear flip flops and shorts, just be prepared that a hot casing from a gun can hit any exposed skin. T shirt would be best or non v neck for the ladies, just a warning but not required. So here was another part of the deal, when I asked a range instructor he was happy to show any ladies how to handle a gun, hold it, etc. Very helpful and nice. I wish I could remember his name, but that's someone you want to show you how to handle a weapon. A person that is calm, easy going, and instructs. Heres the only bad.....VERY BUSY after 5 PM. so be prepared to wait. 1. Go early in the day if you can 2. If your a guy bring a girl and shoot together to keep cost down 3. Introduce someone to guns, not saying everyone should have them, but we all should know how to use them. 4. for the ladies, go FRIDAY, almost a FREE experience..... 5. make sure to sign in on the clip board ASAP to get on the wait list for an open lane!!!! I was lost and it took me a few minutes to figure it out. White paper with clip board on one of the gun cases. Ask ifor it if you can't find it to get on the wait list. 6. Ask for help if you are not sure, the range masters, guys working there in the shooting range area. I talked to 2 guys in there and they were more than happy to help out which surprised me) Guns can be intimidating for people and its great the staff here is there to help. That's all I can list, if your new to guns maybe stick with a .22 so it has no kick and just get use to guns....Maybe the next Friday trip move up to a 9mm handgun? Or stick with the .22? Overall great experience for everyone that went, we will go again. We all had a great time here. read more

Robert, who somehow also happens to be an instructor, was incredibly abrasive, elitist, and gave me THE worst customer service ever. If this is how he treats paying customers, I can't even imagine he actually has the patience to instruct others. The guy had the nastiest attitude I have ever seen. People like Robert would not last in ANY other customer oriented business. I would've fired him on the spot if he treated one of my clients like he treated me. He is so hopeless, he would not even benefit from customer service training, not when the guy is obviously lacking basic social skills. I had uninstalled the Yelp app, but thanks to Robert's disgusting demeanor I had to reinstall and bother writing this review. If you ever go there, AVOID ROBERT (INSTRUCTOR). I love shooters world :) all of the staff here are very friendly and I was a regular for a while and when I went MIA, Roberto specifically remembered my gun and me and it made me feel special. He's a great guy! My favorite day to go is Friday well because it's FREE FOR FEMALES! Free lane time and gun rental! All you have to pay for is ammo and targets (unless you bring your own). If you have no where else to go I guess it's a an alternative. However once you've gone here a few times you start to realize how cramped the tiny area you get to shoot in is it's like shooting in a cave or something and the lighting is very poor. I'm so glad I didn't get membership here. Also the prices they have on there gear is outrageous, Haven't those people heard of the internet. Hello is anybody home...lol...If you must have one of these products they sell, then order it off the internet that is if you if you work hard for your money and want to save some bucks. Poor customer service, Poor selection, we were looking for a compact .45. The guy showed us one....yes ONE that they carried. It was a Kimber and very pricey. We asked about other compact .45's and he went on to tell us how hard it is to get guns nowadays. Rather than just say that they just did't have what we were looking for. When we asked about a Para Ordinance he actually told us that they are not good guns and that they don't carry them because they are crap.....Okay O_o But whatever we wont be returning to this place.... read more

I joined Shooters World about a year and a half ago because the Peoria location is close to home for me. It's a nice place, i.e. the staff are all very polite and helpful, it's clean and well stocked, and a great place for any experienced shooter to go. Prices on their stock seem to be very competitive as well. The reason I didn't give them more than 3 stars is safety. It's unnerving (to me at least) to see an obviously new shooter come in and receive next to no instruction before cranking off rounds. At another club in town first time shooters are required to watch a 5 minute video that covers safe gun handling, essentially the "4 Golden Rules". I'd love to see Shooters World start doing this with new shooters, especially due to the fact that the lanes appear to be separated with nothing more than plywood boxes. Considering the lack of knowledge some shooters have, and the fact that even seasoned shooters make mistakes, I'd like to see some ballistic protection between the lanes. I admit there might be something inside the box, just doesn't seem like it. Also, there's *usually* a range officer trying to watch everyone, but not always... and with 3 tac bays to cover it'd be great to see two guys instead of one! Finally, a minor (but annoying) observation - the lane lights are set behind the shooter, presumably so there's no glare in the shooters eyes. Unfortunately, the shadow you cast with the light behind you pretty much leaves the bench dark and it's difficult to see if you're trying to do anything other than pin up a target. UPDATE: After reading Lisa's response to my concerns I have to say I'm impressed! As usual, there is often more going on behind the scenes than most people are aware of.
