I visited on the evening of 03/17/2026 with my wife. The store was fairly quiet at the time. The first employee we encountered, the greeter, welcomed us with a great smile and set a positive tone. In the footwear department, the associate was also very helpful and quickly assisted me with getting the correct boot size and box. Unfortunately, our experience changed at checkout. The cashier, an older woman, had a noticeably different attitude. I won't go into every detail, but her tone came across as sarcastic and unwelcoming. Despite being polite and respectful throughout the interaction, it felt like she wanted to rush us out. My wife and I both left feeling uncomfortable, and we couldn't help but feel that the treatment may have been influenced by our ethnicity. That's not something I take lightly, but the difference in behavior was hard to ignore. I'm sharing this feedback for management because the front-end experience matters just as much as the rest of the store. I hope more attention is given to how customers are treated at checkout so others don't leave feeling the same way we did. read more

The sheer VOLUME of items within this store is mind boggling. And that includes ammo though 9mm ammo as of Jan 2024 is STILL hard to find and forget about bulk purchases. Better to do that online.... The store is not cost efficient, so don't expect real bargains here, but you DO have a plethora of diversity, enormous shopping potentials, incredibly diverse ideas for gifting and probably one of the best places I've seen to purchase the newest boats and small, entry grade, off road vehicles for EXTREMELY affordable monthly financing costs!! Robert over in the gun department lazy as hell. There was 5 workers standing talking and I walked up and asked if they could check for any extra of a specific ammo in the back. Robert looked at the ammo and thought about it for a second, and then told me they don't have any ammo in the back and what's on the shelf is what's available. Well I've been here multiple times and workers have gotten me ammo from the back plenty of times. Usually everyone's very helpful but Robert would rather lie and be lazy than do his job for 5 minutes. Anyways, I asked another worker and he miraculously found 5 more boxes of the ammo! Melissa & Amy AGM denied to sell me a firearm because my wife called to check on my status. Which is not illegal in Arizona. They claimed I was buying the firearm for my wife when she was only calling to check on my status cus I have a stutter & it's easier to communicate if she speaks on my behalf. Mind you my wife bought her EDC a month prior no issues & many other firearms at this exact location. They said I was banned from any future purchases. Glendale mid-day and maybe 8 people in the entire store. Bargain cave closed, restaurant closed, no one to be found in the footwear dept. they had a clearance section where stuff was marked down 10% LOl. Most of the staff looked bored to tears. On a related issue, after leaving 2 messages one of which was hand delivered by the operator to the Reno gun library to call me, no one ever called -ever. I walked into the Glendale library and was in there for 10 minutes and neither person (2) asked if they could help. I finally asked a bored looking gun dept employee with no customers (at the regular gun counter) if they had a way to reach the Reno Gun Library since no one will return my calls. He just said, "yeah they are hard to get a hold of". After leaving a lack luster review for the Reno store I got an AI generated response saying to email Cabelas. It was just a link that populated my email with no connection to the review. Yeah, do your own homework Cablelas, Im not reiterating this again. Call your own store and leave a call back request at the gun library and see what happens. I dont see how they can stay in business. Bass Pro shops killed this store. No customers in the store and the employees act as if they have been told they have 2 weeks left to work. They still have nice inventory at full retail prices. I was flying out of town so I had some time to burn. This place is close to a Cracker Barrel so we came here after breakfast. They have a ton of boats and kayaks outside. We were able to look at multiple boats before they opened. The inside is like a museum. There are plenty of stuffed animals and even an aquarium. I got to check out the guns, tools, and tactical pants. The upstairs section is pretty nice as well. read more

I had never been to a Bass Pro Shop until yesterday. Wow, is this store HUGE. It seems like they literally have ANYTHING you would need for the outdoors. We went to get our Grandson's first photo with Santa. It's very nice of Bass to offer Santa Photos at NO COST. Of course, there are opportunities to purchase a photo package, but it wasn't pushed, and everyone who didn't purchase photos received their free photo with a smile. The employees in the Santa Photo Project area were all friendly and professional. After the photo, we looked around the store's huge inventory of items to purchase. Prices seemed reasonable, and there were plenty of friendly employees ready to help with questions. This store also has a small aquarium and wildlife museum with a lot of taxidermy. Even though I don't have 'outdoor hobbies ', I would definitely shop here if I did! read more

Waiting 45 minutes to an hour at the gun counter to watch people fill out paperwork to even be able to get a look at a gun has got to be the dumbest concept for customer service iv ever dealt with. Large location. If you are looking for something for camping, boating, hunting, or fishing it is probably here. This store has a wide selection of outdoor and shooting products. Guns may be purchased here. If bringing in a firearm, they ask that the gun is checked at the front of the store. Upstairs has home decor, as well as children's items. Redhead items are usually competitively priced. This is a Cabela's and Bass Pro Shop brand. We have purchased some good Redhead items. We have also purchased some that the quality was equal to the price. These items are usually lower priced to help get people in the door. Well known brands such as The North Face, Columbia, Yeti, Coleman and Teton are sold here. There are various taxidermied animals throughout the store. This location has the large display in the middle of the store,, like many Cabela's and Bass Pro Shops do. It also has a couple side galleries, and other animals peppered throughout. There is a side gallery that highlights animals of the southwest region. Some of those animals have signs from where/ what state they came from. Employees all seemed to be helping other customers. I didn't interact with them. I was more looking at selection for one of my children's future camping trips. We will most likely return to obtain the few specialty items he still needs. read more

Went to Cabela's this morning to look for a small duffel bag for camping that I need. This location is super convenient right off the 101 and Glendale Ave. Tons and tons and tons of ample parking so no issues there. The parking lot is super clean as is their entryway. I have a few issues with Cabela's and this morning's visit reminded why I never shop here: 1.) The moment we stepped inside of the store, we were bombarded by a Cabela's employee who asked if we wanted to sign up for their credit card to get a free bag of coffee. No, thanks. She asked again if I was sure. You bet. I sure am. I sure am sure I do not want your credit card. Oh my God. A free bag of coffee you say? For 28% interest? That's one hell of a deal. How about you just let me step foot inside of your store before you verbally crucify me with your sales bullshit? I mean, I understand that's your job, but I'm an adult. If I wanted your credit card, I'd ask to apply for it so I could obtain it for future purchases. An $8 bag of coffee certainly isn't going to sell me on it and neither is your strong-arm sales tactic so buzz off, lady. 2.) EVERYTHING and I do mean, everything inside of their store (and website) is full MSRP. NOTHING is on sale even when it's clearly advertised as a sales price. Case in point: I perused the mens' fashion area where they had Under Armour sweatshirts that were advertised as being on sale. Then I looked at Under Armour's website and the price was lower direct from them. You can twist and spin that little tale any way you need to in order to fit your agenda, but no one is going to convince me, otherwise, that the prices in this store are even remotely comparable to anywhere else. Truth be told, I have no idea how Cabela's or Bass Pro even remain open to this day. You have to be looking for something incredibly specific that you simply cannot find anywhere else and you need it right NOW and only then - would anyone possibly find a reason to shop here. Unless, of course, it's the experience of the store and the faux taxidermy, fish aquarium and waterfall ambiance. Additionally, we walked from one end of the store to the other. We probably passed 8-9 employees. None of them acknowledged our presence. Get your shit, give us your money and get the fuck outta here is basically the attitude they portray. 3.) I did not find the duffel bag that I saw on their website in the store so I walked away empty-handed. My wife purchased a new bladder for her backpack. We get to the checkout register and it's the same strong-arm sales bullshit as when you first get in the store. Can we get your telephone number? Do you want to upcharge your sales total and donate to the Cabela's blah blah blah? Can we interest you in our Cabela's Club card? It's 20-fuckin'-questions before they've even started scanning our items and 20-more after we swipe our credit card and they charge us? How about you put my shit in a bag, give me my receipt and let me exit your store so I can get on with my day? Isn't it enough that I drove here and purchased something from you? Can I offer you a pint of my blood and my first born while you're asking me for more? Shitty service. Shitty prices. And a game of 20 Questions in order to be allowed back to your vehicle. I have NEVER been treated with such disrespect at a store before!! I went in to LOOK and INQUIRE about 1 specific pistol WITH MY FAMILY, and 5 workers were standing around assisting 1 customer. We soon found out that none of the employees had 2 brain cells to rub together. I signed in at the kiosk and my phone pinged 1 minute later to go to the counter, however, we were already there. This a**h*** made it clear that he did not want to talk with a woman. He started talking to my husband and 21y/o son. I pointed to the pistol and my husband said no, and pointed to the correct one. This dumbbell had the audacity to reprimand all of us because my husband pointed at the right pistol that I saw on their website, stating that it's illegal to point at a weapon (my husband was was 3 feet away)! We went to go buy a boat - but if you're a woman and are disabled, you don't have a chance in Hell of getting help in this store. After searching the whole store and not being able to find the boat we were looking for, we searched the whole store again to find an employee. Found two male employees at a desk in the boat area and asked them for help. They couldn't be bothered to get up and take us to the boat, but pointed to where they were all the way across the store. We went to the camping area where we were told to go. Surprise, no boat. We f3inally found another employee who pointed us to yet another section of the store, again all the way across it. Shockingly the boat wasn't there. By now the mobility cart had died. We finally found another employee who them took us back to where the two male employees were at the beginning. Only one was there now and again, still sitting on his butt, and she asked him for help. He pulled the boat up on the computer, said he'd be right back - and ghosted us. We found him 10 minutes later helping another customer, a man. He had straight out ditched us. By then we were over it. No one would help us and we were being straight out ignored - so as we were leaving I called a manager. I finally got ahold of one who met us as we were leaving - and had an attitude with us from moment one. My friend was understandably angry after how we were treated. The manager yelled at her and even walked away while I was mid sentence talking to him. We used to shop here ALL the time. Spent so much money here. What happened to this store? Just came in to check things out and loved the center wildlife waterfall and critter scene. Really cool store! Even discovered their amazing and delicious fudge! Cabelas is not just for camping and hunting enthusiasts Huge selection of outdoor, hunting, excellent fishing store including hand made lures and all the materials to make your own. Whether you are into swimming in your pool or kayaking and boating, they have a huge inventory of items for outdoor water life. Camping, survival, outdoor cooking and just plain of grilling or smoking in your backyard, Cabelas has a huge selection of inventory for all. Clothing from winter wear, hunting hear and tough clothing for outdoor activities or lighter wear for summer hikes, cabelas stocks it all. Bring the kids, there are 100s of professionally mounted animals from all over the world to see, from birds to several species of deer,, elk.. their collection includes an elephant, rhino, water Buffalo, polar bear, moose.... list goes on. Check out the photos. Check out the small aquarium. Upstairs there is a Cafe style restaurant upstairs (check on covid rules first) fudge shop, toy section, fun kid friendly arcade shooting range, huge shoe shop. And don't forget the bargain cave where gently used returns can be purchased I took one star off and I'm being generous here. I went to check out about 6 rifles recently and each one i had to ask "is this used?" All the rifles had large signs of wear on the outside metal and wood. Chips, long deep scratches through the blue into the base metals and just signs of heavy use. Put me off purchasing to be honest. The assistant explained that for security they have to tear down all the gun displayes and place all guns in a safe room every night, this is done about 2 hours before and after opening & closing so damage is to be expected. Sorry but really looks like I'm being offered new prices for gently abused stock. This is similar to going to buy a new car and being asked to accept dents and scratches from other peoples test drives or the transportation. Not a policy that makes me want to invest here, and not something i had to deal with on previous purchases at Cabelas. Maybe when the store was designed the displays should have been built as safe storage? Really felt like I was being offered seconds with $2-4k price tags. read more
