Very satisfied with my experience here. This is an extremely busy time for gun shops with this pandemic and uncertain times. Literally every place in town was out of handguns. I went to Shooters World yesterday and did find minimal stock as expected, but at least they had something of the shelves. I was approached by an employee within a couple minutes of waiting, he ended up being the owner and extremely helpful. He informed me they were expecting a delivery of firearms the next day which was great. Just for fun I went to check out Cabela's which was absolutely ridiculous, just to talk to someone I had to take a number with over 100 people ahead of me (no joke). It put things in perspective with Shooter's World handling of this craziness, they were doing phenomenal in comparison. Today I received a courtesy call that the shipment had arrived and headed over. They were extremely busy but had a lot of employees to compensate. Despite everything going on I was allowed the one on one time I needed, and was shown several options. Let me reiterate I know next to nothing about firearms, these guys didn't make me feel stupid or take advantage. I got an amazing gun at a great price. So I am really late with this review! About a year ago, a gentlemen asked me to post a review for shooter's world after a visit to the range. I purchased a Taurus PT 92 AF Pistol from them. I don't always find the most polite people in the gun sales world. These guys were patient and fantastic. They took time to answer all of my questions and the gun was at a good price. A year following that, I attempted to shoot steel case and steel core ammo at a range closer to my home in Mesa, AZ. They would not allow me to. I drove out to Shooter's World and the guy remembered me and he let me shoot my pistol and the steel ammo for free! I feel bad that it has taken me well over a year to rate Shooter's World, but they have good friendly people, They will tell the pro's and con's of certain makes and models and will be able to help you discern from cheap and crappy from cheap and reliable! read more

I came today to look for my first AR15 and found one with the help from Jesse, I think he was a manager. Jesse was extremely polite, professional and educated me in the right direction to pick out my first AR15. Keep in mind that I write these reviews not just to help the customers be wise consumers, but also so that business owners can get feedback from customers and gain insight into running their business in the most successful manner. With that said, this place is awesome! If you have always wanted to try shooting different hand guns or long guns this is the place. You can shoot just about anything you desire. The prices are very good. It is 16.50 and hour for adults and children 13 and under are free with a paid adult. You can rent handguns for $10 each for the 1st one and $6 each after that. Long guns are $15 for the 1st one and $10 after that. They have targets for under $2 and plenty of ammunition. Eye and Ear protection is FREE. We went with another couple and shared a lane for an hour. We had a fantastic time! It is very safe. They have plenty of staff to help you if it is your first time and staff members watching the shooters to make sure they abbey the rules! It is so much safer that going out in the desert and shooting. The environment is well controlled and it doesn't matter what the weather is outside. That is pretty important in AZ.They offer classes and lessons galore! Make sure you check their rules and requirements before visiting! The employees are very knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful! The store was well stocked and clean. I used the restroom which was also clean. We had a great time with our friends and they did not rush us off the range since there were no people waiting on the day we went. I also saw they have ladies day every Friday! Love this place. Very clean with a great atmosphere. It can be intimidating to go shooting, but the staff make you feel comfortable. Dalton is amazing! He's very knowledgeable and will literally walk you through proper steps - one at a time. He takes his time and makes sure you fully understand. I have been a member for a few months now and have had average to good experiences with my few visits. I do recommend better help from staff when entering the building...young people working are little help on greeting or helping. Biggest disapointment came today when after calling yesterday to set up a range time and reserve two boxes(9mm & 22 cal) of ammo to shot...I was told No ammo was set aside for me and yet I asked the young lady on the phone "three" times to hold the ammo and she said they would(can't buy it anywhere else due to shortage). I enjoy the shooting at there range but they need better service from the second customers enter the building. read more

I had friends from out of town this weekend and decided to go shooting. Shooters world is indoor and close, winning !! After spending 65 plus dollars for four people to share one lane. My receipt time after I paid was 12:50, at 1:30 some goober looking non carrying employee confronts me stating I am out of time and he will have to charge me an extra hour. I look for my receipt in my pocket and the goober states he is not trying to start a fight!!! I never acted or gave a reason for the term fight to come out his mouth. His manager then tries to offer me passes to come back to his facility ??? Are you kidding me? Like that saying goes " It takes many good deeds to build a reputation, and only one bad one to lose it." read more

I rarely am disappointed in gun ranges, but this one left me questioning if I'll ever come back. My wife and I pulled up about a quarter to 5 to get some range time in. I went in with the full understanding that I may be cutting it close to last call for ranges. There were a few folks in front of us and several behind us, so I figured our chances were good to get a lane. We fill out the paperwork and the guy at the counter says "we'll put you on the list for the next available lane." I'm thinking that's fine, there's good traffic coming in and out of the range, shouldn't be much of a wait. We go take a seat in the waiting area and wait patiently for our name to be called. Then i notice the handful of groups that were behind us pay and move right on in to the range. "Ok, maybe they're members." Then another 4 groups come in and right on in to the range they go. "Ok they definitely couldn't have been members. This guy had flip flops on!" So I go up and ask the guy behind the counter "hey sorry to bother, but it's now 20 after 5, and I've counted 8 parties go in ahead of us. Can we get on a lane?" He then looks at me bewildered, "why were you waiting?" "Because your colleague put us on your list and said to hang tight for the next available lane. You apparently had 8 available lanes and passed us up on your list!" He goes to find said list and tells me "oh sorry about that dude, did you still want to shoot? You'll only get about 30 minutes of range time because we close at 6, but I have to charge you full price." At this point I'm pissed, but what could I do? They were going to close regardless of what o said, so too bad so sad. What made matters worse that was "oh well" response to my frustration and their mistake. Something had to have gone wrong for what was once a great customer experience that my family and I used to get consistently here, to one of the worst I've had at any range. This used to be one of my favorites; but I'm questioning whether or not I'll ever be back to give them an opportunity for redemption. read more

My wife and I signed up and paid online to take the CCW class two weeks before the class date. Showed up for the class and the class was full and was told I couldn't take the class that day. I was a little bent but to their credit they got my wife and I into the full class. The instruction and the facilities were great. Completed the course and filled out all of the paperwork per the instructors verbal instructions. Well, three months later I get my packet back from the state telling me that the paperwork is "incomplete". I must now start the process all over again filling out the paperwork per the states instruction. I am one FRUSTRATED guy right now! If you are standing in front of them the customer service is great. But the administration portion of their business with my wife and I is poor. read more

Ok first off I know people need a place to shoot but customer service is still important as well. I have been to shooters world in Peoria a hand full of times mainly because for convenience reasons, otherwise I wouldn't wast my time. 3 times out of 5 I have had problems with there system that runs your target in and out. This time was no different. It broke down 3 times....it just stopped working and they had to come out and fix which took several minutes each time. In my opinion you should give your customer extra time for the inconvenience at the very least but not these people....when my time was up they were right there telling me my time was up so when I asked if they could give us a little more time because there system kept braking they said you can have 10 minutes more.....hell it took them that long to fix it each time it went down, I thought that was pretty shitty on there part plus they raised there prices a lot that's another reason to go somewhere else. they have very little to offer then they have shitty customer service and there equipment keeps breaking down it's not worth it not at all. read more

First off, the range itself is great. It's a good, safe facility to shoot off some rounds and have fun. My problem is with the staff. They're not friendly or engaging and if you talk to them they act as if you're bothering them. The general feeling there seems to be that they're doing us a huge favor by allowing us to enter the store and shoot! I have news for you guys, I'm surrounded by millions of square miles of empty desert! I don't need to go there to shoot my guns off...this is Arizona, after all. It may be a gun store, but it seems to me that they are still in the sales business...and sucking at it. The first time I went there was to look for a small pistol for concealed carry and after asking about several different brands/models(none of which they had in stock) the employee just walked away like he was tired of talking about guns! The second time I was there was to shoot at the range and when I approached the desk nobody was there, however two employees were chatting it up 10 feet away and completely aware I was just standing there. It's cool, I figured out what to do and what to fill out on my own. It wasn't until a line started to accumulate behind me that one of the guys came over. No "Hi, how are ya?" no "Welcome to Shooter's World." not even "Are you here to shoot at the range?" Just "Um, if you need targets they're over there." I have a sales staff as well and none of this would fly in my company to say the very least. Just so you guys know, you sell gun rentals, range time, and products you don't manufacture yourselves...THE ONLY REAL PRODUCT YOU HAVE TO PROVIDE IS CUSTOMER SERVICE. Nice place. The guys behind the range counter were so unhelpful. My boyfriend and I have never shot any guns before and were so excited to learn. One started out by asking us if we wanted to shoot rifles or handguns, to which we replied rifles. He then says "Oh, we don't have any rifle lanes open." Okay.. then handguns. So he had us start filling out the forms, and walked away. Then a new guy came over and asked for our ID's. We're 20, and we don't look over 21. So after we fill out the form, the man who is literally holding our ID's goes "How old are you guys?" And we say 20. He then informs us we must be 21 to shoot handguns. Instead of being helpful and saying something like "The next rifle lane will be open in 30 minutes if you want to wait" or ANYTHING at all, he just says "yeah sorry." So we left. I have been at this location 3 times and the staff is fine but the guns seem to have a lot of problems with ammo not feeding correctly. If you limp-wrist your pistols that's one thing but the 4 or 5 guns I have demo'd here have all had problems feeding ammo. read more

We went on ladies night and never got offered any safety lessons, even after telling the staff that we had never shot a gun before. They didn't even take the time to tell us how to load the ammo into the magazine; they guy shooting in the next lane over helped us with that. All said, we still had a great time and we will go back. First off, I was not combative in the least as I had no reason to be, I have used a one hour punch on a my Range Pass split between myself and another shooter on multiple occasions and it has never been an issue before. Only when your employee and range manager said that that has never happened at shooter's world did I become upset. Basically they were calling me a liar. I can provide 2 different people that did in fact split a one hour punch on a range pass with me if you would like to prove that what I am claiming and upset about is true. I have been a gun owner and regular shooter for 15 years. I own rifles, shotguns, and pistols and know how to use each one of them proficiently. I went to Shooter's World because I didn't want to go to Scottsdale to shoot guns. I needed to sight in a pistol, so I went to the Cactus location. I have been in the store before and knew to expect no customer service. at the range desk to guy was gruff and acted as if we were interupting his nap. It was 2pm on a thursday and there were only a dozen people or so in the place. we paid the fees and got into the range. I have never been watched so intently as I shot in my entire life. When I was taking pistol classes when I was 21, I wasn't even watched as much. The range officer. stodd over our shoulders nad critiqued us constantly. What kind of ammo are you shooting? Don't stand that way. Set it down. Are you left handed? no rapid fire. (we weren't firing Rapidly) I just couldn't handle the constant barrage of questions and bothering this guy was doing. Also the sound dampening in this place is non-existant. its just block walls. They charge you if you shoot the cardboard, lights, carriers, walls etc. We don't do this because I know how to shoot a gun, but it was rediculous. Nice range crappy service. Way too expensive, I spent 43 dollars on shooting 50 rounds of amo and one target. Yes renting a gun, 50 bullets, one target, and 15 minutes of shooting for 43 dollars. Once I buy my own gun it should cost around 30. It was my first time shooting and I asked the clerk to show me how to shoot. He proceeds to give a demonstration very fast, i'm talking in a way that shows that he is impatient with me and he is annoyed by me taking up his time. I ask him to show me once more but slower and he tells me that I should probably get enrolled into a shooting class. Well i'm not spending my money at a place like that. I noticed a couple of the employees getting short with customers. The one thing that I noticed is that they were selling a glock 17 for 499 and I went to another place and it was being sold for 515. Maybe they have good gun prices but everything else was bad. Don't waste your time at a place like this when there are many other places that will treat you right. read more

I dont know why people complain about little stuff.. I went to Shooters world today (9-5-2011) and waited only 45 min. Yes its super busy (Tells you just how GREAT of a place SW of Peoria is) but today is a holiday and that i to be expected.. When My name was called I met with a awesome range guy named Chris.. ( I think) Chris helped my son and I chose a gun, walked us through how to use it and even came on the range to make sure we had it under control!!! My service was above and beyond what i ever expected. I also found out they had a ladies day with great stuff to offer on fridays. Now I can bring my son and wife in for family time at the range.. I am 69+ female and am new to shooting. I have taken Fundalmental of Firearm 1 &2 and just returned from a private lesson. It's so hard to believe but you can teach old dogs new tricks. I went to Shooter's World today to shoot for the very first time. They were very patient with me and let me ask all the stupid questions I could think of. It was ladies day so they were very busy but took the time to "hold my hand" and help me find the right rental gun. They put me on a lane away from the bulk of the shooters and let my brother walk me through actually shooting for the first time. As we were wrapping up the range master actually came down and advised my brother that there was a Desert Eagle 50cal on the range and would we prefer that he have the shooter hold fire until I left? I thought that was very classy and I also liked that he came down to check on me. The guys wanted to see my target after I left and were all so great.
