Every time I come to this location I am never disappointed. The staff is super friendly and helpful, and the lanes are well kept.

There are a lot of guns shops, tactical stores and shooting ranges across the valley. I've shopped at a number of them and each offers distinctly different options and character. But no matter what I'm looking for, I find myself coming back to Shooter's World. While this review is for the Phoenix location, I could easily be describing the Peoria store. My familiarity with Shooter's World goes back quite a few years. I've shot at the Peoria (indoor) range and taken classes at the Phoenix location twice now. In fact, both of my sons took an introduction to firearms class at Shooter's World. The variety of the classes is impressive and the instructors I've encountered are nothing short of professional. Regardless of the type of class, there was always an emphasis on safety. Incidentally, my sons enjoyed their beginners class, especially because they got to fire an actual revolver. And I was impressed with the way the instructor conveyed the laws and principles for proper gun handling and safety to a class of varied age and ability. More recently I took a CCW refresher class. The website made signing up very easy. And the follow up communication from staff by email and a reminder phone call was spot on! As for the class, the instructor clearly explained the laws and gave relevant examples from the news. Safety was front and center again. As it should be. Shooter's World is one of the few places in the valley that combines gun sales, tactical accessories and clothing and has an indoor range. The staff are always friendly and knowledgeable. Plus they are happy to help regardless of your experience level. The Peoria store is newer and therefore a little nicer. But I prefer the Phoenix location for the convenience. Thanks guys! This is a decent place to unload some rounds in town. It can be very warm inside when warm outside so just be prepared. Also, last I knew, the air return system didn't work well at all. Unfriendly staff with bad attitudes. I was accused of shooting down their target line when I was not shooting but retracting the target to change the paper. Multiple witnesses saw this too. The staff demanded that I pay $20 line damage fee. Had to get the manager involved. He was cordial but started off accusing me of shooting the line down. After explaining the situation multiple times they turn to my girlfriend and accuse her of shooting the line even though she did not shot for 5 mins prior to the line going down. Wasted 20 minutes arguing with them about this just to get a lane change so I could resume shooting. Thankfully the manager eventually "waived" the line damage fee. Worst range ever. Don't go here ever. Go to C2 Tactical or Scottsdale Gun Club if you want to be treated with respect. Oh, also they wanted $60 for 50rds of 9mm and $79 for 50rds of 45ACP. I visited Shooter's World in Phoenix today to purchase a hand gun. I arrived five minutes after they opened up for the day. I waited 20 minutes and no one waited on me. I finally had to walk up to an employee and ask him if they could help me. Their attitude was surly and rude. I ask about renting a firearm to shoot at their range since I never shot a gun before and they said their "policy" was that I needed to have a friend with me in their gun range. I told them I do not have a friend with me. I asked them the reason for this policy and they said, "for safety reasons" and failed to disclose those reasons with me. I was served by Brandon, who was very friendly and courteous. Knowing that I had little shooting experience, he brought me through the safety procedures in a clear manner and answered questions proficiently. Check-in was fuss-free; the waiver was signed quickly and I got round to shooting in a matter of minutes. I got a Glock 9mm rental pistol which was recommended as a first-timer firearm. I found it easy to use and control. Ammo was $16 for 50 rounds before tax, which was reasonably priced. I got a silhouette target which cost $1.50 apiece. The shooting range itself was maintained relatively well and was air-conditioned. I had a hiccup with the target forward/return pulley system which was quickly addressed by Brandon. When the pulley malfunction could not be remedied, he gave me a complimentary target to continue shooting. All in all, a very good place for beginner shooting! read more

The staff were very helpful and friendly. They don't make you buy ammo that you can only shoot on the range but they have marked up their ammo 100% making it too expensive to purchase for me. The store is clean and they are wearing masks for Covid protection. They have a ladies night on Friday and something else on Tuesdays. Pricing wasn't bad at all, because it was ladies night. Shooters world is relatively close to our house. My Wife has been wanting to go shooting for a while now. Being that it was Valentines Day and we've done all of the commercial events over the years, I thought to break up the mundane. It was ladies night, so we only paid for my weapon rental and both of our ammo. It was a great hour spent hitting our targets and learning about gun safety. My only con is that the customer service isn't the best. When our time was done instead of politely communicating that... this guy basically told us to leave. "Your hour is up, Y'all need to hurry up or pay for another hour" We were already packed up with case's in hand. Which is why is comment was confusing. Other than that, it was a great time! This range is great, but you need to remember what it is. The range is busy, especially during a pandemic where the gun industry is flooded with new shooters and gun owners. They have everything you need to shoot; ear protection, eye protection, targets and ammo. The ammo isn't cheap, and ammo isn't cheap anywhere right now. If you bring your own firearms, you can shoot your own ammo (if you can find any). There's a lot of complaints about the cost of ammo here but you're not required to buy it. Based off of what I've seen 35-45 cents a round is the new norm for 9mm FMJ. As for the range, it gets hot so dress accordingly. There isn't a ton of light so you may be shooting in low-mid light. Paper targets are 3 for $5 I think and usually they have a good selection. They offer classes, I've taken the CCW class. As for the staff, a majority of them are great. They seem to be knowledgeable, they're helpful and they work as fast as they can. read more

After I walked back from the range the guy at the counter said I had a glow about me...I think that pretty well describes how much I loved this place. Decided to check this place out today because of the Ladies Shoot Free Fridays, can't really beat that kind of a deal. A friend and I walked in and while we've both shot guns before we didn't really know how to do anything besides pull the trigger and try not to hurt ourselves or anyone else. I was a little nervous about that because I didn't want to feel stupid but I really wanted to do this. I had nothing to worry about, the guy that helped us was totally cool and showed us absolutely everything without making us feel dumb for not knowing. We started with a 9mm handgun to get warmed up and chose the Zombie Justin Bieber for our targets. Let's just say that Justin didn't survive... After we finished off our boxes of ammo we decided to try something different so we decided to pull out the big guns, literally! We knew we wanted a rifle and the guy recommended the AR15. It was awesome! Not too much kick but big and loud and therefore lots of fun! I have a feeling coming here on Fridays (and maybe even more) is going to become a part of my weekly routine. I shot here once a few months ago with no problem. The employee who helped me was great, because it was the first time I'd shot in a while. I rented a Smith & Wesson 9mm and bought a box of ammo. Had a fun time after I got the hang of it again. From the looks of my target, you'd never know it had been that long since I'd handled a shootin' iron -- dang fine shooting, if I say so myself. They have eye- and earwear for rent, along with firearms. Various random gear is for sale in the shop. I didn't experience an issue with the temperature on the range; it seemed fine to me. Where they lose two stars: an apparently new policy of no longer renting to single customers -- you must have a buddy with you, or no shootin' for you. Not cool. The only explanation I got was, "It's safer that way." Heh?? Even if I do find a firing friend, I'm taking my business elsewhere for that. read more

Placed an order over the phone and received a call about a week later indicating my item was in the store and ready for pickup. Called the store and was instructed (via recording) to go to the store to order online items. Went to the store to order the item, couldn't use the gift card. Like most are saying they are short staffed but they are also unorganized and willing to lie to customers. My experience is with a bad FFL Transfer experience. Do not use them as your FFL transfer because they are weeks behind. They sat on my Glock19 for over 2 weeks and I had to call the gun seller in Oklahoma and have them call before they would respond to me. Then they said "We left you a voicemail message the next day after we recieved it.", which was a lie. I physically went to the store after 1 week and they told me that they never received that handgun. They need to get their **** together. No one even came and said sorry for the delay, heres a 20% coupon or a free lane rental SOMETHING. Lastly after I picked it up, I wanted to run a few rounds thru it and stood in line for almost 20min, talk about pi$$ed. I just left and will not be returning. When a co-worker whose generally tame and straight edge demeanor lets loose and decides to take me, his visiting co-worker to blow off some steam I naturally was thinking bar, maybe seedy club, but a shooting range? I have a much greater respect for him. Anyman who shoots and respects firearms is class A in my book. Being from California our gun laws a tougher so it was a nice refresher to have some relaxed restrictions. Still well within safety and reason the vibe here is more of the common sense common man versus paranoid radical people often think of gun enthusiasts. I felt pretty bad ass shooting in a business suit. Very FBI/Secret Serviceman style. We rented a revolver which made us use store reloads, which is fine since it's their gun and don't want hot loads going through it all day. I was also able to shoot a hunting rifle and a 1911, both personal's of my co-worker. The staff definitely was helpful because although I understand gun safety I'm used some laws of California. As far as in the range and on the line almost everything is standard, but they have the metal plating between and all around the lanes which gives it a kind of modern feel. I actually thought they did a pretty good overall job on the sound proofing, except at the very end. I wasn't a fan of the 2 couples taking instagram pictures posing. Though I could tell their guns were unloaded because I was close to them the range master likely could not and would not approve. Prices were cheaper than expected for the rental and the lane, apparently they have ladies night on Fridays. Though they have the standard selection of targets I was glad to know many could be downloaded for free. I found inconsistency in the factory reloads, all of them felt a little weak except for 1 hot round. Brass was fine and loaded/fired easily. I know some ranges really stretch the limits of # of reloads. It was clean, pretty quiet for a range, a little cheaper than most, good selection and service. This was closer to our office, but I was told the Scottsdale Gun Club is where the real magic happens. I was impressed at their selection of accessories. Though I don't plan on being out here much as this was kind of an impromptu emergency visit I would come back if I was in the area. read more

Was in a different part of town and decided to try this place instead of the usual Scottsdale Gun Club. I found the prices to be fair and overall registration and lane request/assignment easy. The safety portion was quick but informative and to the point. Brought my own firearms and eye and ear protection, so no review of the rental options. Targets for sale were reasonably priced and less expensive than Scottsdale Gun Club. Once in the lane, I found the target application easy to use once I got the hang of it. I thought air conditioning worked fine, it was summer, too. Retail options were really plenty and lots of merchandise geared towards women which I thought was really great! Bathrooms nice and clean, too. If you bring a rifle, it needs to be cased, if you don't have one, they offer them at the front for you: very easy. I'll definitely go back often. Professional, safe, and clean shooting range. I've been coming here with my dad for a few years now, and it's always been a great experience. It only takes a few minutes to get set up with everything to rent time in a lane, and the service is always great! You can rent many different guns or bring your own, and they have many different targets for purchase which can be fun. Once someone came by I was skipped for a person that just came in the store, so there's another point. The sales rep finally came by and i asked if they had any other lowers there (the one I came in for wasn't on display) he say no "that's all I got", I asked what about the one you guys say that's in stock on your website "oh that's just saying we have in a warehouse ", now I don't know about you but if a company says they have something in stock I expect it to in stock, not some excuse saying it's at my other place. Went there today to try out a glock19 because i want to buy one. I was not allowed to rent one because i was by myself. Appearantly that is a rule (which i never heard of) that if i have my own gun i can be by myself but if i rent one i cannot. I asked "so if i bring my friend that does not know how to handle a gun is ok but me, someone who does know, cant be alone?" Guy behind the counter said "That's right." That is idiotic. Also i know that in door ranges do not allow rapid fire. And last week i was there and one guy was using a full auto gun that sounded just like robocop's gun. And nobody went out to stop the guy.
