    Stark archery range

AMAZING place to spend an afternoon. This place is absolutely 10-out-of-10 stars and we had so much fun shooting archery for our first time. Perfect for all ages and would be a great place for private events (corporate events and birthday parties alike). They show you a thorough video where the owner will walk you through everything you need to know. Then another staff member will spot you as you make your first few shots. Will was very helpful for my group. To save yourself time - reserve your time on the website, and sign your waiver online beforehand. They have lots of available parking spaces, free lockers, and the best rates. So glad this place exists!

What a fun Sunday activity. Came on a Sunday around noon and practically got the place to ourselves for the whole hour. No one else was on the floor while we were shooting; It felt like a private event! It was $50 for two people for an hour. Like other reviewers says, the last 10 mins they put a balloon on the bullseye. You get two tries, about 12 arrows total, to pop the balloon. The girl working on the floor was nice and gave us 3 attempts. I popped the balloon on the last third round, first arrow! We both hit the target by the end and received two coupons for a discount for next time. Clean, fun, fully equipped event! Are you the next Legolas , Hawkeye, or Katniss? Recommend you come over and test your archery skills!

Add this to your list of hobbies because you will be hooked after trying it once! My girlfriend and I wanted to keep up our active streak (went axe throwing the day before during a Yelp Elite event, heck yes!!) so we decided to try some archery. It was a Tuesday night and I called in to see if there was any space available, the person on the phone said to just walk in, so we did. It was empty at around 7pm (thankfully). Price was $25 per person for an hour, included the equipment and the lane. This was a lot more reasonably priced compared to other places I found, most of them required that you go through a class prior to shooting. This place doesn't require it, they just give you a basic lesson in the beginning, teaching you how to hold the bow, how to shoot, etc. This took maybe 10-15 minutes at most. Time starts after the lesson. The hour flew by! We had so much fun and at the end, if you were able to shoot the balloon, they give you a coupon to come back the next time. My girlfriend is definitely a better archer than me so she got the balloon her first round (you get two rounds to try). Wouldn't hesitate to come back here again with our group of friends. Staff was awesome and couldn't have made it a better experience for us!

This is a great place for target practice. As a compound bow hunter, i needed the 18 meter lanes. It was clean and well lit. The owner is knowledgeable and helpful. Most of the shooters use recurve bows. Make sure to bring field tips instead of broadheads. Parking easy Must book online Bow rentals available Bathrooms clean I suggest smaller target options. Great place!

Very organized and clean. Jay was very knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. Through great instruction, I was able to hit the center. My kids (8&11) loved for trying something new and we will be back!

    Fire away!

Had an amazing time celebrating my birthday here. The staff was knowledgeable, professional and downright delightful! It was super-fun shooting arrows repeatedly at the targets as many times as we could in the hour. The staff gave us great pointers and the rest of the customers looked like they were having fun too. Can't wait to go back again.

We really had lots of fun here! I had some issues with groupon (not Starks fault) but the guy at the counter seemed very put off and annoyed by me? Groupon? Said he couldn't do the lessons and needed an appointment ahead, it was pretty slow in there. Walked away, put in earbuds and ignored us. A girl then came and helped us and was fantastic!! She taught us both and clearly had her hands full. I understand scheduling ahead, but theres other ways to deal with paying customers. Some might be big yelp reviewers. You just never know! We both hit the balloons at the end and won prizes! We will be back!

There are 10 stations in this area. The room next door is for more experienced archers and the targets are further away

I went with three of my friends, all of us have limited experience with archery. We went as walk-ins at around 5pm on a Wednesday and luckily, they had enough spots available for us. The guys in charge of the place were friendly and took into account that we are all beginners when he was giving us a basic tutorial. They were more than willing to help us improve our form, which was definitely a plus. The place itself was clean and well-organized. Definitely worth a shot, especially if you and your friends want to try out something new!

We stumbled upon this place on yelp when my boyfriend and i were trying to find something to do on a saturday. We were walk-ins, but i would suggest getting a reservation on the weekends because it filled up rather quickly. It was 25 per person, 15 for an hour on the floor, 10 for rental. After your safety waiver, they help you put on your gear (arm protector, finger protector, chest strap for women). They also very quickly run you through how to use your bow and arrow. After a two minute tutorial, youre own your own. My bf and i enjoyed ourselves, its something different to try out! They also give you a balloon to try to target which is pretty cool. If i could change one thing, i would give each participant a new target sheet because there were already marks on the one we used. I would also let them take it home.. sorta like how it is in a shooting range. But no big deal. All in all, a very cool acitivity for when youre out of date ideas.

This might have been the most fun I had in an hour. I went for the first time on a Sunday evening and the range wasn't crowded. It started with a short instructional video and then I was able to shoot at targets for the full hour. I'll definitely shoot here again.

Shooting at the 9m range. The 18m range is in an adjacent room, separated by large windows.

Our instructor, Martin, was funny, informative, and insightful. I learned more about archery in those first 15 minutes than I had in my entire life. He was very directive about what was important to employ in terms of technique, things to look out for (like when retrieving your arrow or if you happen to drop one, and your quill could accidentally become a hazard), and where to keep focus. I think my target speaks volumes for how well they make sure you understand what you're doing. I only wish that I could have taken more pictures and video, but it wasn't clear whether or not we could, and I didn't want to introduce a potential hazard (to them or myself). Great experience. Awesome staff, fun activity, great spot. If it's your first time, you get to do a super-fun introductory class (that's accessible to everyone of all ages and levels of athleticism - including "basically none") that teaches you the basics while also keeping it really entertaining with mini-competitions and such. Definitely a great group activity to try out with friends / family. After doing the intro lesson, you're free to sign up any time afterwards for your own private lane to practice in for 1-2 hours or so (bumping you up from a 5-yard distance from your target to a 10-yard one) - and the staff will keep checking in on you and giving you pointers and suggestions to improve your game. Speaking of which, they're all super friendly and knowledgeable - Nas, Ace, Simon and the rest, all great guys with lots of patience and sunny dispositions. It's roughly $35 for 1 hour of use of the space and to rent out a bow and some arrows (and the extra coaching is free) - a very reasonable deal in NYC. My wife and I have been coming back at least twice a month since the Winter and we've had a blast every visit. Super fun to watch yourself progress and get more and more accurate too. And as an added bonus, it's smack dab in the middle of Chinatown - tons of great spots to eat at around here, after an hour of archery. Would absolutely recommend to anyone visiting or living here.

They have sent quite a few of their students to the national team (only the Top 4 qualify!!) and even non-USAT students regularly bring home medals for each division at local, regional, state and national tournaments--ours included. However, bear in mind that because of the immense popularity and demand for the coach (and regular tournaments), parents have to understand the system and put into it as much as they take out. Confirm appointments as the coaches are sometimes attending tournaments. It took some time to navigate but i learned that archery is not an easy or cheap sport if you're looking to go all in and demands mutual parental guidance and support. We started this as a fun hobby but now our family is obsessed with the sport. If you are looking for this level of professional training, I would recommend patience, in-person appointments, and communications when Coach Shin is not in the middle of private lessons and training students for nationals and constant presence to help your child. If you are just doing it for fun or a beginner, SW has now hired Coach Chris who is super friendly, available and accommodating; he is there on specific days, usually Monday, Thursdays, Fridays, and some weekends if we're not at a tournament. Parents are also available to help with some of the basics so feel free to reach out to regulars. Highly recommend!!
