I'm obsessed with local artisans, so a boutique that showcases them is a dream. I love this location of "Shop Made In". It's bright and airy with friendly staff. The selection is well-curated, with great candle, snack, and jewelry offerings, among other items. Plus, they host workshops. Staff is very friendly. I highly recommend for bespoke gift-giving.

The shop is beautiful and there is a wonderful variety of high quality art and products. Alexandra Schmeling's Pet Portrait Watercolor class was really fun. She is a great teacher and made it easy for us to be successful.

I've eaten at plenty of delis over the years, but Eddie's Little Shop completely surprised me with flavors I've genuinely never tasted before. The sandwiches here are incredibly unique, creative combinations that just explode with flavor in ways I wasn't expecting. What really stood out were the huge, fresh chunks of real mozzarella, paired with their homemade-style dressings, sauces, and condiments. It's easily one of the best sandwiches I've ever had, and I've tried a lot. The portions are generous, the bread is spot-on. I'll definitely be back before my trip ends. If you're in Arlington, do not miss Eddie's Little Shop Deli. Highly, highly recommended!

Saturday, midafternoon, I stop by for an Eddie Mootz ($17) (salami, ham, sopressata, mozzarella, on seeded italian). I'm handed this brown paper bag that weighs, I dunno, 3 lbs? I have to carry this back with me to the Metro. Twice along the way, I have to stop and catch my breath. I get home, my kitchen counter sags a bit where I put the bag down. Cripes, Eddie's. And the sandwich itself? 2 meals, easily. Thick thick piles of meat and a shovel-full of mozzarella. Very chewy bread. I work up a sweat just eating this, there's so much labor involved. I ordered online from the Metro, around the DCA stop, and got a notification it was ready before I got to the King Street stop. Fast turnaround. Eddie's is now on my list of places to make a point of going to for sandwiches in the DMV. Really good sandwich, and a lot of it.

Unfortunately, whoever the individual was on shift today was just a total piss poor person - she seemed to have an issue with our party, as she automatically assumed we just came there to 'squat' without ordering anything (if you have been to this place before, there isn't much seating and this isn't where you'd want to sit for a bit anyway); when I called her out and stated that I already knew our party's orders, she backtracked. She then continued to make a snide comment on the number of drinks we were ordering - what's with the passive aggressiveness? I didn't know that there was some rule that each person was required to order something. Like, are you okay? I just had a bad feeling about all of this, and we should have just walked out instead of giving our money to support this business - to add to it all, the coffees that we did receive (latte with soy milk, and the mocha) were just poorly made and not strong at all; they were both watered down and bitter at the same time... come on! UGH, the regret, but it was a choice. Shame on you, Via Volcán! You might want to heavily reconsider who you employ and train them better - this individual is really hurting your business! What a miserable person. Street parking can be found in the area. +NASTY employee +watered down/bitter coffee +street parking in the area

A trained sommelier, Kuna curated the wine program at La Fromagerie Cheese & Wine Bistro for a number of years and eventually became the general manager. He later worked as a sommelier at other area establishments like Planet Wine and Evening Star Cafe. When the storefront next to La Fromagerie became available, Kuna decided to make it his own wine shop. Kuna's mission is to make the entire world of wine accessible to everyone while supporting growers who are engaged in ethically and ecologically responsible farming and business practices. Fellow sommelier Michael Williams works as the general manager of Le Vintage, while La Fromagerie owner and chef Sebastien Tavel came on board as a partner. I recently visited Le Vintage while my family and I were on a short vacation in the DC area. Upon returning to our hotel after a long day of sight-seeing, my wife said, "I can really go for a good bottle of wine after we put the kids to bed." We checked on Yelp and lo and behold we discovered that Le Vintage was right down the street from our hotel. I walked a few blocks down and made it to the small shop. They had an excellent selection of wines as well as an impressive selection of craft beer. The shop also carries artisanal meats, cheeses and crackers for customers to assemble their own charcuterie as an accompaniment for their wine. I picked out a nice-looking bottle of Italian Rosato Frizzante to bring back for my wife and I to share. The employees also invited me to participate in a tasting that was happening in the shop (Le Vintage frequently holds tastings). Slovenian winemaker Bojan Kobal was sampling offerings from his winery Kobal Wine Estate. My wife and I really liked the wine that I brought back to the hotel. We were so impressed with the shop that I went back on our last night in town and purchased one of the Kobal wines that I had previously sampled (a sparkling yellow muscat), as well as some charcuterie items. Le Vintage is a fantastic wine shop and we'll definitely visit again the next time we're in Alexandria!
