I was having a conversation with one of my Indian coworkers and we came to the topic of Indian grocery stores. She suggested this place. I had to go take a look for myself. When I drove up, it was kind of sketchy. The parking lot of was a bit empty, and in the corner there was a couple of homeless people just sitting around talking. I braved up and made my way to the grocery store. When i walked in, it was a tiny store. There's so many things there, and they also have a kitchen area. When I went the kitchen area was closed, probably due to covid. Everyone here was wearing a mask, and I can also see why the parking lot is empty. Everytime a customer come in, they already know what they would like and they are on a mission. I see people walking in, grabbing things they want, paying and leaving. I took my own time walking around browsing for things. My favorite section was their frozen food section. I got samosas and parathas. It was one of the best things I could ever get. Super delicious and taste exactly like if i've gotten it fresh from a restaurant. I highly recommend this place for any of your indian needs. They have so many things. read more

Nice store especially if you are looking for Indian cuisine ingredients. They have the best samosas. There are two types of samosas they have. The potato one and the Spanish one. It always tastes good. The potato samosa for 99 cents, and the Spanish samosa for 60 cents I think. Don't forget to ask for the green chutney. read more

Been coming here for years, figured I'd best write a review:) Best little shop in SLC hands down for getting any type of Indian spices or food. They also have a great selection of Naan, Samosas, and other items in their freezer section. The people who work here are great too- always very friendly and will try to order anything they can in for you, either from their other store or online if it's not available. Great customer service, great little store! Oh.. and their samosas that they make in house are delicious! But they had to stop making them due to Covid regulations. At least that's what I was told. So hopefully they'll be able to start making them again soon! read more

The best Indian store in SLC for grabbing some quick groceries - Shop N Go is the perfect name for this compact convenience store. The sign out front does advertise that the store sells ethnic groceries, but it's really just Indian. They have all the essentials of cooking up Indian cuisine and the prices are reaosnable. I really like buying paneer here and they carry a few brands of that. They have various desserts that they keep frozen, a limited selection of fresh produce, tons and tons and tons of spices in pouches, basmati rice, frozen guilty pleasures like stuffed parathas, Maggi noodles, etc. They do carry items that can be found in American grocery stores like ice cream and pasta, but I recommend to go to American stores for that as they are priced higher here. I mean... the rule of thumb is to buy items that a place specializes in, right? They also carry non-food items such as personal care products, incense, oils, lighters, henna, and jewelry. My favorite item to buy as a snack are the samosas. They sell for $1 each and are filled with mashed potatoes, peas, and spices. I love to get the packet of chutney (free!) as a dipping sauce. read more

Ran by this store last week because we needed bread and I was too lazy to drive off my street to the grocery store. This store used to be located on 900 East but has moved down the road on 300 South and around 600ish East. This store is an amazing little Indian grocery store, mixed with the bare necessities of a convenience store like milk, bread, etc. It is Indian import paradise in here with everything from naan mixes to different types of rice flour and tons of herbs and spices. I even saw a basket of coconuts for sale. I only went for bread, but now I know where to go when the bug bites to cook some Indian food! read more

Shop N Go has always been my one stop shop for all things Indian. They offer fair prices on grocery items when compared with a couple of other Indian stores in Salt Lake City. You also get really good samosas over here. They are freshly made everyday and are usually available in a couple of different sizes. This place has the BEST samosas. Whenever I'm needing a cheap, delicious, hot meal I go here and grab 2-3 pea and potato samosas. They are super filling and ALWAYS yummy. There are also spinach, cheese crispy yum-yums if you're in the mood for something smaller and with greens. If you pay cash it's cheaper and faster. The people working are always really sweet. I had come in multiple times in 2 weeks and the guy working who had previously helped me get the potato samosas offered me a couple sample spinach ones. What a sweetheart! They also have candy, beer, and good frozen Indian food. I've been tempted to buy some henna for my hair here as well. It comes up under "coffee and tea" which they have, but don't expect it to be like a coffee shop, as it's a convenient store. read more

The store is a delight if you are looking for grocery and spices to make an authentic Indian meal. They have a huge collection of spice mixes, whole and powered spice. Plus you can get huge bags of atta (whole wheat flour), basmati rice ... things which are not that easily available in regular grocery stores. And I can always find paneer here :) read more

Amazing local shop. With everything an expanding pallet would want. Great prices, friendly staff, and hard to find items. ie Indian Dessert mixes. If your after some different rice varietys they have it. Instead of 7 bucks for 2 pounds at local store they have 10-20 pound bags for 15-30 dollars. They have moved around over the year and expanded but have kept the same small and amazing staff. There no longer located of of 4th/5th south so it's not as conventit to get to from the campus, But if your a local Uof U student check them out for some cheap and very easy meals. They also carry the average staples of any convience store, beer, soda, cigs, fountain drinks. etc read more

On March 31 2018.I was there shopping, and they had this water container, and I drank 2 small cup of water, and lady with glasses yell at me for drinking that water and said, "those water" are for those who buy fast food, and I thought to myself, who body wants to treated in this manner, let alone, I'm customer.In any event, I was really surprise by her attitude of human nature and I just replied " oh I'm sorry " implusly . This is my favorite place for a quick shop. Limited, but the produce is awesome and everything is so inexpensive. Get your Indian spices (as well as general international spices) here instead of Trader Joe's, and pay a tenth of the price. Come support small business! read more

A great little nook to buy Indian produce in bulk. They have a lot of obscure ingredients and cheaper saffron than many supermarkets. They also have a small amount of fresh produce. read more

This place is super convenient for getting Indian groceries. The best is that they have traditional Indian produce that comes in fresh weekly. They have a large variety of frozen and dry goods as well. Things are pretty fresh most of the time just be sure to check the dates on the packaging and you'll be fine. I'm learning Indian cooking and have been there twice. The first time a very knowledgeable and friendly young woman spent at least 10-15 minutes helping me find and pick out the items on my list, e.g., her recommended brands when there were several. She even helped me learn how pick out a good piece of fresh ginger. The prices were reasonable, they had everything on my shopping list and I picked up a number of useful tips for making the dish I was there to get stuff for. The second time I also got personalized help from another woman. Open 'til 11 is also a plus - most ethnic groceries close much earlier. Anyway, two good experiences in two visits. read more

What an amazing store. They have a massive stock of Indian food and ingredients. They had some really well priced spices you can buy in bulk.the owner is also very nice! He was happy to answer all my questions and helped me find exactly what I needed. Just discovered this little family run gem about 1 month ago. I had been after fresh turmeric root and debated buying some online (at an exorbitant price) when I had the thought to call them. Not only did they have the root but fresh ginger and taro root as well. The wizened owner even provided me with a most excellent recipe that we enjoyed. A great slice of life in Salt Lake City and a locally owned and operated store, plus it is an easy commute on my ELF. read more

This shop is good but check with bills . Once I went to buy coffee powder on that pouch it was $8.99 for small one. I asked him why this item is too costly and he said he will make it $4.99. And I check with other store it was only $2.99 . So be careful !!! And they won't give any description of item in receipt . Later if u want to check receipt u will be confused . read more
