Forcing customers to do self checkout without getting a discount on your order is crazy. Make this make sense. I get charged for a bag and I need to check my self out.

I was gearing up to make a cheesecake but also wanted to make a few things as meal prep for the week. It was interesting coming here on a Sunday, especially since there was a man outside the entrance giving a sermon. Made it inside and grabbed myself a cart. I was able to find a lot of what I needed, but I had to deal with people that were just not caring that they were ambling through the store and standing in front of areas where you need to grab an item. Then you have to be mindful of the ones that might mistakenly take your cart as you are grabbing items from the coolers. Then they ask you where Nutella is as if you work there. (I did say to him that I would check near the peanut butter, an aisle over, since I was just there and he ended up going the opposite way) Checking out was fairly simple. I went the self checkout route and prefer this. I was able to get through this part rather quickly. Made my way outside past the sermon again and was on my way.

Was excited to see seeded watermelons and seeded grapes! We also grabbed some jelly's and apple butter. The Apple Butter took me back to Sunday mornings breakfast at Grandmas. The bakery side had a variety of yummy treats from doughnuts, pies, cookies and cakes. Definitely grabbed a few for later. The Apple Pie ice cream my hunnie ordered was delicious. Tasted just like Apple Pie. Looking forward to our next adventure here already.

Clinton Shoppers is price gouging!! I can go to the Shoppers in Largo and get the same exact item for $4 cheaper. This is so ridiculous! Whoever the store manager is who is approving this SURGE in pricing should be seriously talked to. This is so disappointing especially during these hard times that people are having, but also just in general! It seems like since the pandemic Clinton Shoppers has been taking full advantage of its consumers with these ridiculous prices and if you ask for a manager and mention these issues, their is a "we don't anything to do with the pricing" and their attitude is basically "go where it's cheaper then". So even though Clinton is closer to me I will NOW be taking my business/money to where it's affordable. Shame on whoever it allowing this store to steal from it's consumers. read more

Back in the day, Aldi stores had product that was poorly merchandised and the interior of their stores reminded me of food pantries. Very uninviting, disorganized, basic and off-brand...so I avoided them except for the occasional crate of strawberries or piece of fruit - which I would quickly buy, then leave. That was about five years ago. I bought a lime one time I think, but I was building up my nerve over time in small doses lol. I started going into a few more Aldi locations consistently about two years ago after someone turned me on to those CLANCY'S chips. Couldn't believe how good they were and for such a ridiculously low price. For many years prior I was going to regular grocery stores or Walmart/Target spending $4-$6 for a "family size" bag of chips that's two-thirds air anyway. Where those KETTLE brand chips were on "sale" for $2.50 a bag. Otherwise, $5 a bag. I don't buy chips from anywhere other than Aldi now. Same chips $1 a bag, or less depending on which you buy. Although limited, their produce is suprisingly good too. And even some organic stuff if that's your thing. An Aldi cucumber - 49¢. A Safeway cucumber - $1.29 An Aldi avocado - 69¢. Safeway/Giant - $1.59 Mixed salad greens, Aldi $2.49. Safeway - $6. They even sell a smaller size where Safeway only sells the $6 plastic package. The lines are often too long; you bag your own groceries (so bring your reusable bags); no self checkout; buy your plastic bags; all maladies not uncommon to the traditional chains these days so no big deal there. Oh, and you'll pay 25¢ to rent a cart but often people are leaving as you're entering and will offer theirs. Either way, also no big deal. The chips got my attention and reaquainted me with the Aldi brand. I've migrated into the produce so who knows what's next. I'm still working my way up! Pleased to report that Aldi's has also remodeled most of their stores. The chain has grown on me and no longer makes me itch. Scoring = 4 Also, owned by the same folks that own TRADER JOE'S.
