CHECK EXPIRATION DATES. They "just had a ecolab visit" so they were sure the baby food came from the warehouse expired. But the expired food was behind the new food ona shelves. FIFO first in first out. Needs to retrain the stocks to check expiration dates as they are stocking. read more

The reason why they have 5 stars is because they kind and helpful, they do a great job at what they do by asking if we are ok if we need anything and I love that they have a country side of the store me and my family love what over there.They don't have any spoiled foods or drinks restock every day they get with the popular side with their food like takis. Then im there in the shop they have cheerful and sweet vibes they know how to tell things to people properly and politely, I'm really happy and glad that they do, and they tell me where the bathroom was. This rating is for customer service ONLY.. I had to stop in yesterday 8-4-25 to grab a few more items for this concert & to put together the Ultimate Deli sandwich for My Mama!. I got a few things but this is about my experience at the deli !! ... interacted with a young lady very well, her name was Madison R. she pleasantly greeted me and suggested several Deli meats and we got to talking about how I needed the best! tasting meats for a bomb sandwich!. We connected on both being Deli workers (Me at Harris teeter ), the customers we've had , to how thin sliced meats were better because you can get more by the 1lb for your buck!! No matter how much you get!. it was a lot of Yess girl , I know right, ommmgeee me too's , and it was so funny!! all the while keeping it professional and not missing a beat!! on multitasking of getting all my order together in a timely manner!. I'd absolutely love her spirit, her vibe and professionalism the entire time!!. definitely a great hire because you usually get those dry how can I help you people, or the ones who will not even acknowledge you!! & she made my day because my LOOOVE and I are going through a double loss days apart from each other! so my mental is everywhere. They have the rudest staff. I was not surprised when I came on here and saw how many negative reviews this store had. I don't know why the building is still standing. The worst selection of food and the worst customer service I've seen. No shade to the cashiers. It's the people that are supposed to be giving you customers service that are the worst. My husband went to take some watermelon he had just purchased after getting it home found that it was spoiled. This was on 7th of February. The sell by date was the 8th. He stood in front of customer service for. 15mins. He then went to a cashier. She said she couldn't handle his issue and directed him back to customer service. After waiting a few more minutes an older lady came out and told him she was shutting down. He explained to her he just wanted to exchange the watermelon. Instead of being apologetic about the situation. She proceeded to tell him she didn't need all this drama . WHF. Is this what we doing shoppers. First off, to Isaiah W. from Largo, MD, I'm sorry you were treated that way. However, it is not due to your race. They treat everyone that way. As a senior white male, the hatred that exudes from the people who work the front desk of this store is chilling. They are awful and hateful. The employees will not help you at all. Where I do most of my grocery shopping What can I say...the prices are for the most part low and I can't really complain about the quality of the products they sell. I just learned over time, that there are certain days out of the week that I have to shop here or else they will be out of a lot things that I need (but that can be plenty of grocery stores). I don't usually come here to do my grocery shopping, but I do come here periodically at lunch time to get a delicious hot panini from the deli. You get to the deli counter and pick one of the 4 or 5 Panini's that they offer. And the attendant behind the counter will then oil up the Panini press and heat up your Panini until its nicely toasted. And these Panini's are delicious, and for only $4.99 you can't beat that price. read more

STORE 2676 9343 Annapolis Rd Lanham I entered Shoppers Food Warehouse to return a meat product I paid for on an earlier visit to the store. I went to Customer Service to return the meat. I saw Barbara, a Customer Service Employee in the Shoppers. In the past, Barbara has had a habit of accusing me of stealing things from the store. At about the same time, the manager walked up to the counter and asked me what store did I get the meat from. I replied, "this is the only Shoppers I shop at". The manager told me to go leave the meat at the Customer Service counter and go get the fresh meat product. When I returned to Customer Service the employee Barbara walked by and called me a 'bitch", even though I had said nothing to her. I replied to Barbara, "you are another one". A few minutes later, the manager walked up and I told him what she said to me. The manager said it was my fault because the employees said I had started the conversation. Next, Barbara said she wanted me to meet her outside so she could "whip my ass". I said come on and a few seconds later Barbara said the following "I will take you outside and whip your booty". Next, the manager appeared and said the employees told her that I pulled my mask down and spit on Barbara. Many of the employees came to me and told me they heard that I spit on Barbara. Even the employees stated they felt it did not sound like something I would do. In fact, the employees called me by my nickname which is New York, and stated the following: "New York that does not even sound like something you would do". Eventually, I did get the meat exchanged. The problem is this: I have been going to this store since I have been sick with cancer. On different occasions, I have left my purse, and or my phone, my groceries there at the store and the good customer service kept my belongings until I returned Not only would I not hit a person, because it is better to file a lawsuit on the person. which I appreciated. Additionally, the former manager, Mr. Hampton, would carry my groceries to the car. I have since spoken to my lawyer, Atty. Mark Epstein who told me to try to retrieve the camera tapes for the dates of the events that occurred. My lawyer, Atty. Epstein, also told me that the next time I go to the store and Barbara accuses me of stealing something or an employee ask me if I spit on someone, I will have my attorney file a lawsuit against Shoppers Food Warehouse since they are the ones who hired Barbara. Right after this event, I stopped going to the Shoppers because several other employees asked me if I really spit on Barbara. I replied that the employees should pull the camera tapes and review what happened on that date since I did not spit anyone in the store. I responded: "Black American women do not spit on people. We would smack you first before we put any body fluid on another person because it is against the law to spit on someone." I would not hit a person, when I could file a lawsuit on the person. In another event Barbara stated that she "does not like BLACK-American woman and that she came to America on a plan. store. I was one of the first customers to visit and support the opening of the store therefore, I know everyone in the store and they all know me. I have never had to deal with this type of foolishness before. I have never been accused of spitting on anyone at this store (Shoppers) or anywhere else. If I saw someone spit on someone else, it would cause me to gag and throw-up or vomit. I do not have time to play games with Barbara or any other employee. Thank you for reading the above series of events. I hope you will explain to Barbara that it is unprofessional and against the law to spit on people and to accuse people of stealing. read more

My experience at Shoppers is never bad but never exceptional either. Today and this week have been tremendously rainy. As soon as you walk in, there is a bucket on the floor to catch the water leaks from the ceiling. Not only is there one bucket, there are two buckets to catch the water as if I like to feel like I'm grocery shopping in an abandoned building. I don't usually shop at this shoppers. But I noticed the leak last year and its still there. Where is the management or secret shoppers that is supposed to address these issues and potential health concerns? Someone should really fix that before something falls and gets hurt. Not only is it unsafe, its an eye sore! read more

The best thing about this Shoppers is the Salad Bar. The Salad bar is the same quality as Giant and Wegman's, but it is cheaper. At $4.99 a pound I can make a great salad to go with my leftovers or as an entree for less than a take-out meal from a fast food restaurant. The chicken wings are tasty as well. It's only been one time where the staff was pleasant. That day I just so happened to walk in and shop when the corporate office people came through. The employees never speak but this particular day they decided to be extra friendly and nice. They helped me and my boyfriend pick out our shrimp. So amazing because they usually don't even take time out to tell you what isle the milk is on. The store had never been this clean. )THE CABBAGE WAS LINED UP IN A SPECIFIC ORDER.) Two weeks later I came back and the staff was rude as usual. The store was dirty. Merchandise was all over the floor. Trash all over the place. I have been shopping at this Shoppers Food Warehouse for years and I am a satisfied customer. This Shoppers is always well-kept. I rarely see stuff out of place or merchandise out of stock. You can pay bills, get money orders, purchase from the hot food/salad/fruit bar, purchase or rent movies and shop all at this place. The staff is friendly and very helpful. The lines are almost always long, which is a sign of satisfied customers on the one hand, but not good for impatient shoppers on the other hand. The prices are not as good as it gets, but they are not the worst either. Some of their merchandise is very well priced. It's not the most ritzy grocery store, but it's not ancient-looking either. It is always neat and presentable. read more

So tonight my friend went in to buy some items to buy to make gumbo. When he got home he realized he wasn't given the shrimp, crab meat, and gumbo fillet and some other items. He went back they told him he needed his receipt. He went back home got the receipt and then they said we need to look at the cameras. I was on the phone while he waited for the manager to review the camera for 15 mins. meanwhile he had already been waiting quite some time before he called me to tell me what was going on. He asked another employee behind the counter could she get the manager he's waited quite some time. She gave him attitude. Meanwhile he noticed a return shop cart with all of his items sitting there. He said these are my items I didn't get. They refused to give him his items. He's such a nice guy he went away. However, hopefully he will follow through and call corporate tomorrow as we discussed. Who would make two trips back to a store if they had their items. Largo Shopper's you need to understand first rule of customer service...the customer is always right....and in this case he's definitely right and has pics of the shop back cart to prove it....SMH read more

This is the worse store ever and I only go here if I'm in a hurry. It's not that they don't have what I want, it's the people who work there. They are unprofessional, especially the deli and seafood departments. There were two gentlemen having a conversation behind the seafood counter, and when I approached them, I just patiently waited until they were finished talking. I hoped they would notice me standing there. One of the guys said, "You have a customer," and pointed to me. So the seafood department rep, walked over to me and said, "What do you need?" I said, "Hello and how are you?" He gave me a mean look as if he was mad I interrupted his conversation. I said, "Sweetie, be happy you have a job and that someone wants to come in here and spend their hard earned money or else you wouldn't have one." He cracked a smile and then said, "What do you want?" in a softer tone. I said, "No, it's not 'what do I want' it's "how can I help you?" Then he grew impatient again and started huffing. I said, "I don't want anything except to leave." I walked away, told his manager, and she acted like she was afraid to talk to him about his attitude! He gave her a daring look, as if he was going to punch her if she reprimanded him. I couldn't believe it. I just left the store. I only return for quick small things like butter, bread or milk. Otherwise, I shop someplace else. I give it 2-stars because I still go there when I'm in a hurry, but otherwise, 1-star or 0 stars is better! read more

For lack of better words, this store is "ghetto". Poor customer service. Don't expect to exchange any words with your cashier other than them telling you your total. If you come in the evening expect only one lane to be open. Even though I live near this store, from now on I'll be traveling to the grocery store down the street. read more
