I Loove this Giant during the pandemic I called it the Abandoned Giant because it was and Still Hardly any ppl in this one!, The Lines aren't long down the Aisle and there's always more than 1-2 cashiers for ring up service. I feel like because it's not as close as Largo Plaza 10408 campus way people forget about it. I love that for Me tho because I could get in and get out!, ppl had on masks, you can move around freely without bumping into someone or having to slide your cart over type Ambiance. The Food to Me is always fresh seafood or packaged! , it's always very organized like this store keeps up on care of their presentation! IMO!!!... I love getting Boars Head Lunch meats whenever I'm wanting a cold cut! , the customer service is Just as great as the Management. This is a Huge store also very spacious in the Aisle as well!! This is my preferred grocery shopping location in the Upper Marlboro area. The Giant is huge - it's not the prettiest or fanciest but it's huge. This has been nice during the COVID times where I wanted space between me and the next shopper. There have been very few occasions when I was looking for a specific product or brand that they didn't have. The few times this has occurred, I've been able to find a substitute so my recipe is not impacted negatively. The produce, meats, and seafood have all seemed fresh, well stocked, and ordered neatly. I'd also like to give them a shoutout for how they've adapted to COVID and new regulations. There are always associates cleaning the aisles, racks, and conveyor checkout belts. For much of 2020 and 2021 there was also an attendant at the front of the store offering to wipe your cart down before using it. Over the years, some of the employees have started to recognize me and chit chat while I shop. I appreciate the friendly service. read more

I'm sad to say this Giant has gone down. They used to have fresh food. I purchased grapes and when I got home I noticed that many were covered in black mold. The ice cream I purchased expired 10/24 it is 1/11/25. The meat I purchased said it would expire 1/12/25. Please check everything before you buy if you go here. I took the items back and got a return. However, this is unacceptable. read more

I love this Giant. They're always generously stocked. No matter how crowded it gets, the lines are never too long. The employees are always willing to assist. Great customer service. The store is well kept for the most part. Always my first choice to shop!!!!! read more

This review is based on the unprofessional and rude attitude of Marquita, my cashier( older african american woman in her 60's) As I put my items on her register she looks at me( no greeting) and makes a joke to the cashier whom she was talking to prior to my arrival about the other cashiers around her being imaginary. The store wasn't busy at all as it was an early weekday morning.I guess in her perfect world she came to work with the assumption of just looking at customers as they entered her line. She needs training on customer service and professionalism. If she doesn't want to work she doesn't need to be there.Letting customers hear her annoyance about her doing her job is outrageous to me. Amir and Raynard are professional and friendly cashiers that actually greet, and thank you for your visit and don't make you feel like you're inconveniencing them when you show up. read more

I called from my car driving from Waldorf and was placed on hold. I walked into the store still on hold (now 20 minutes) and was looking for the $2.99/lb weekend sale on chuck roast that ended today. They ran out at noon and after speaking with the Customer Service lady, who acknowledged she answered every call, she discovered I was STILL on hold. No apology. For my inconvenience, I was not offered a rain check as she referred to the tiny blurb in the ad that stated "until supplies last." I think they should have and could have accommodated me as I was on hold for 20 minutes. Customer service is poor. Although, I do appreciate the meat Associate walking me to customer service. I wanted my sale price!!! I'm unhappy. I was at the Bowie store on Annapolis Rd and just misses the last package of chuck roast shopping there. One would think with a low sales price like that Giant would have had more stock in hand. They blew it on this one. Costco has a similar $3.99-$4.99 regular price point but finding any is rare. Shopped this store yesterday the amount and quality of customer service was refreshing and supportive the kind of assistance that makes me want to return on a regular basis the electric scooter I was using battery died and I was basically stranded at the rear of the store one female employee made a phone call and the scooter was quickly replaced many thanks to those involved when checking out we had what was thought to be a sale item but was not cashier called the appropriate department that rapidly arrived at the register who not only identified the correct item but returned to the department at the rear of the store and brought the correct items to the register this kind of service is what makes me want to return again kudos to those involved I wish I had gotten their names to laud them here although I did thank them personally I would like to have mentioned them here especially the man in the bakery who put up with my friend who had difficulty making up her mind about cupcakes thank you all keep doing your job this way and you will never run out of customers read more

I only come to this Giant because I am a partner with the pharmacy. Tried to purchase 2 waters (Giant Brand) and they were literally unable to scan them. Waited for manager and other co workers and absolutely no one knew how to enter 2 $.50 water bottles. Left so I wasn't holding up the line, but to say this Giant is filled with incompetent employees is an understatement. Do not recommend. read more

I only shop at this location for one reason--Mrs. Angie. Not sure of her exact title, but she must be a manager. She is by far has the best personality of anyone I've encountered when shopping there. She remembers me and she remembers my son. She is ALWAYS in a good mood. Thank you, Mrs. Angie. My son looks forward to seeing you when we come to shop! Otherwise, it's Giant. Self checkout registers were not open even though the store opens at 6 am. 1 cashier and a line of 10 irritated and annoyed customers trying to get their items and out the store. Out of the three closest Giants to me, this is the worst. The produce department most of the time is horrible. Customer service is marginal, and the meat section makes me wanna barf continuously. And, the lines are long and very slow. Shop here with the thought of having to go across the street to Weis (or to one of the Bowie Giants) to get what this Giant doesn't have. Don't usually review grocery stores however I couldn't escape the awesome customer service brought it the store. I spent my usual $100 bucks on grocery however this time I felt really good about doing it. Every employee asked me if they could help me find something....the seafood selection was better than most giants. Yea the inside looks nothing like wegmans but the store is clean and the staff is friendly so I'm certainly coming back. read more

To borrow an often used phrase on Yelp, If I can provide a negative rating I would. The one star ranking is directed solely toward the employees because they offer great and friendly service. this review does not reflect their efforts but is directed toward the corporate entity. The quality of the produce and fresh meat is pretty bad so I only go in a pinch. The fruit is pretty bad and tasteless so I usually go to Wegmans. The store is dated and is reminiscent of the grocery store from Good Times which is not a good comparison. The area is a food desert and it's difficult to find quality, healthy food and I wish our legislators would show some empathy and work towards improving this. I have not received any responses from our local councilman Derek Davis regarding this so I guess we get what we get. read more

I visted the store for the first time last week and found that it was very clean, manager was very helpful in answering questions as well as the cashier. It is good to know that I am not alone in thinking this store could use improvement. I really like the size of the store, versus the overwhelmingly large Dunkirk and Edgewater stores. But, that comes as a price, apparently. While I have never run into long lines [I will use the Self-Checkout], discourteous employees, or lack of staffing, it is true, that the vegetables and meats are not always as fresh as other grocery stores. Last Saturday, I bought a pack of fairly-pricey Lamb pieces, thinking I could get enough bits of meat for a vegetable dish. WRONG: the $10 pack was ALL bone! This store, as is the Home Depot, on my way, as I use Route 4 several times each week. Despite several disappointing occasions, I keep trying to patronize the store. Good selection, though since they reorganized, things are harder to find. The smartest thing they ever did here was to put the peanut butter and jelly on the bread isle. When they reorganized, they moved both the bread and the peanut butter and jelly, and not to the same place. Also, the first isle isn't numbered, but the second is isle number 4. I'll update this when I find isles 2 & 3. This store is cheaper than the one in Dunkirk, but more expensive than the one in Clinton. Update: There are no isles 2 or 3. For the remodeling, someone actually had to order signs for the isles starting with #4. read more

I like this store and find the staff very friendly and nice . I go out of my way to shop there vs the store in Bowie on 301S , night and day when it comes to customer service . My only complaint is the self check out line and number of items you're allowed . I popped in yesterday to grab a couple items , 6 to be exact . The store was very busy and the ppl in the SCOL had carts completely filled up ! I waited in line forever . The girl who stands there watching everyone doesn't say a word and I guess I don't blame her, but it would be great if Giant would post signs requesting folks to please adhere to the " 12 or fewer " signs . Not the cleanest or the newest feeling, but not bad. There is a pharmacy, a sub shop, and bank in this mini shopping center. We go here regularly because we live close,... And there is no Harris Teeter in our area. This is a better option than Food Lion which is close also. read more

I've been going to this Giant ever since receiving my drivers license.... Lol I know exactly where everything is located in each aisle. Ask me where the jelly, organic snacks or bread is located and I can take you there easily. Customer service is in their adds, not their stores. Was their last night because a neighbor needed driven there to pick up prescription. I gather a few items, like four, and when I go to check out the express lane is closed. Not only that they have only one cashier working one lane. This was at 6:30 PM on a Friday. Left items in cart and walked out. They do have self service check out but I never use theirs. Chain was bought out by Ahold NV which is a Dutch company. Put American cashiers out of work and then ship the extra profits out of our country? No way!!!!! I can only speak for the mens room but usually not clean. Check for toilet paper first or you will end up cutting your underwear into squares to use. Done that here before. Customer service desk frequently unmanned. Always check your bags here before leaving the register. Many new and poorly paid cashiers so to often do not give you all your paid for items. Few grocery stores in this area so little competition. I usually go across the street to the Food Lion. read more

I don't know if it's just me or what, but every time I go there the vegetables smell rotten and the meat is leaking and smells like fish. Bought a few boxes of potato pancake mix and when I opened it, it smelled bad. I looked for the expiration date and it was nowhere to be found. This review is solely based on the seafood department .Most of the cashiers are polite, the store is clean and the pharmacy technicians are always friendly as well. However, I sent my husband to pick up some salmon for me on Saturday. The older white guy in the seafood department working decided to disgustingly wrap the salmon in what appeared to be a brown bag with no clear clear paper protecting my food similar to how you would get your meat from the deli. Its common sense to protect food before wrapping it and more sanitary. I didn't need to have two small pieces of salmon that were glued to a brown piece of paper that looked like he used a brown paper bag. Had I made the salmon the same day and noticed it, it would have went back to the deli. Management teach your employees to properly handle your customers food before they decide to give it to them. Its a very basic request. Some people have intelligence and common sense and some don't. read more
