There's nothing worse than a supermarket or any business that lies to and defrauds customers, and posts bogus "sales" that aren't honored at the register. The Garnerville ShopRite - and ShopRite's online website - prominently advertised a so-called digital display sale on a 6-pack of Thomas's English Muffins for $1.99. But the phantom sale was a flagrantly illegal posting, as the rude customer service counter employee not only refused to honor the price, she first claimed that no such sale existed, then said I wasn't buying enough other groceries to be eligible for the bogus sale (nothing on the posted display or web ad required any minimum purchase amount), and then proceeded to insult me for asking to have the advertised price honored! If ShopRite is going to advertise a sale, then this franchisee must by law honor it -- not illegally put the onus on customers to have to argue and beg to get the advertised price, all the while defrauding customers who were duped into paying higher prices, or wasted gas and time going to the store for non-existent sales. Consumers deserve honest treatment and respect, which is sorely missing from this store and ShopRite franchisee! read more

i am a truck driver I took a load of water from Maine and drove it down to this shop rite in the snow. the Asian guy who works in the back taking truck deliveries turned down the load because 3 cases of water ripped open. nothing was leaking just 3 cases of water ripped open he rejected the entire load on the truck. he didn't care about anything how long I drove to get there through the snow he just turned around and told me to leave. as a driver I am writing this review to let shop rite and other drivers know how inconsiderate and careless they are of drivers. read more

This place is a gem. While heading to bear mountain for a little getaway we decided to stop a pick up a few things. Wow! Exceeded my expectations. Nice staff. Clean store. Big deli sandwiches. Great sales of snacks. Stocked well despite of the pandemic. I will definitely go back. read more

I've never shopped in this store without being over charged for at least one item or more....When there is a sale on 3 different grades of top round roasts in the meat dept, there is rarely any to purchase...Instead there are pricier roasts avalable with a different cut....I could see if this happens rarely, but this happens on a daily basis.....When family packs of sausage are on sale, smaller packs that are not on sale are all that's available...It doesn't matter what day, or what time, therefore I see this as a common practice...What this store does do right is to hire the elderly, and the didabled... I do give them kudo's for that....They need more cashiers...All of these scenarios never happen in the other Shoprites....If owned this Shoprite, I would take a long hard look at it.... read more

This place used to be a disgusting hovel a few years ago. It seems that they've had a refit fairly recently, but the phrase "you can't polish a turd" springs to mind. Awful produce section. You want romaine, chicory, dandelion? Sorry, out of luck. The layout of the store makes no sense - I'm always hunting for what I want. Oh, and not sure if it's just the Covid, but there's never enough people on the checkouts, and those that are there have all the urgency of a sloth on prozac. Expect 20 minutes in line. Every Time. If your choice is this one, or the one in Stony Point, there's no contest. read more

Can't possibly give this place anything more than 2 stars. Been to much nicer and better run shop-rites. This place gets packed because the only other super market in like 8 miles is a Stop and Shop and who wants to pay those prices!!!! It hasn't gotten much better since the new one in Stony Point opened although I heard that one gets packed too but is much nicer. There are never enough cashiers and the express line will have you waiting probably 15 min. The only thing this place has going for it is the large produce section but I buy mine at the farmers stand on 45. I shop here only because of convenience. read more

Not much to say that hasn't already been said about this particular Shoprite. As others have noted, the lines are pretty ridiculous. Not like, target in Spring Valley ridiculous, but still, not great. It seems like this place is never fully staffed. The prices are pretty good and they give away coupons, but their app is basically useless and very hard to utilize for anything, including showing your Shoprite card because their scanners are "never working." On top of that the meat selection is never good and you can't find anything organic or even chicken breast that doesn't contain "rib meat". Ew. Their produce section is quite large but it's hit or miss depending on what day you go. The deli is good but it's off to the side and easy to miss or even forget that it's there. The entire layout is strange and counterintuitive. My biggest pet peeve about this place is the sign that says something to the effect of, "it we don't carry something, let us know." I've suggested several items and have never seen things stocked as a result. Why post a sign like that? Unfortunately this is the closest grocery store to me so I will continue to frequent. Why doesn't the store have designated days for loyal customers that used their delivery service for years prior to this pandemic? People who have never used the delivery service or given this store one dime are clogging the delivery slots. It's not right. Once this is over, those people are gonna forget about your store and now loyal customers you've once had, will also find other places to shop. read more

This is one of my favorite ShopRite. The staff are nice and helpful. This store has everything I need. I know we're everything is. I wish they had a salad bar. I also love getting my free turkey or ham around the holidays. read more

This is BY FAR the worst ShopRite I have ever been to. It is disgustingly dirty. I don't know if they are doing renovations or what but the lay out of the store makes no sense, and things are in a different stop every time. It's dark and dingy in there, and definitely doesn't give me confidence that the food is fresh. As for the cashiers and customer service.... they are rude and nasty. Half of the cashiers are high. Unfortunately this is the closest supermarket to my house, but I'll be driving to the Pearl River ShopRite from now on. read more

If you have nothing to do all day and want to spend plenty of time waiting in line then I highly recommend this place. What time do I go you ask? It doesn't matter what time you go in the day. There will always be less cashiers than needed at any given time. I'm only giving it two stars because their shoprite online staff is pretty friendly when they call. Save yourself the time. Drive to the Stony point location. You'll waste more time waiting in line than you will driving the extra few miles. read more

I was in the Garnerville Shop Rite today and had to deal with the manager in Customer Service. There were two of them...the one with the blonde hair was nice while the other heavier set one was quite nasty. I hope I never run into her on neutral ground because I will tell her exactly what I think of her. She had the personality of a constipated shark. The other two young girls who were at the Service desk last Friday 12/29/17 were very sweet. I have always liked this store because I used to live in Garnerville....however after my expereince there today I doubt I will shop there when I'm in that area again. That manager clearly needs people training. The lines in this store are always long because there is never enough staff. It's always crowded so therefore the need for more staff is there. read more

Shoprite from home has been the WORST possible thing we have used. The people working there either don't speak English well or have a room temperature IQ. Half of the products they put in your bags are not what you purchase and they FORGET TO PUT BAGS in your cart! So when you go home to make dinner, half of the food items are missing. They also refuse to reimburse or replace products such as half eaten produce with mold. Once you get transferred to a manager they do not answer the phone. When you call back, the rejects working there recognize your number and ignore your call. This service is terrible for people who have no time to shop because you spend more time with a headache running through the store returning everything, buying things they forgot and sitting on the phone arguing with them. We stopped using them about three years ago because it was so terrible and more time consuming and tried to start again but never will use it again. Rude people working the shoprite from home department. Hire people who have some common sense. read more
