I highly recommend E‑Bike King…read more Before going to them, I had a terrible experience with another bike shop. They kept my e-bike for over three weeks and assured me that my battery was bad. I specifically asked if they were certain, and they said yes. Based on that diagnosis, I purchased a replacement battery for $426. The shop removed the battery terminal assembly to troubleshoot the bike and eventually returned the bike to me with the terminal left dangling instead of properly installed. Believing their diagnosis, I took the bike back for them to install the terminal in the manner that I brought it to them. They said they would mount the battery. To my surprise, around two weeks went by (there was a lot of lying from them as well). They told me my replacement battery was too big (lol). While attempting to make the replacement battery fit, they also damaged my battery plate by grinding/etching it, which ultimately required me to replace that part as well. To make matters worse, both my original battery and the replacement battery were damaged during the process. At the time, I didn't question what happened to the original battery because I had been told it was bad. The other shop did pay for the second battery. I'm trying to be nice by not naming them (this is not easy on my part). I will say that they are near Red Bank, NJ. When I brought the bike to E‑Bike King, they quickly discovered what had been missed. The battery terminal assembly has a groove that allows it to sit deeper in the bike. Once properly positioned, and the bike had power, they found that the real issue was a loose internal wire, not the battery itself. After weeks of frustration, unnecessary expense, and an incorrect diagnosis elsewhere, E‑Bike King identified the actual problem and got me back on the road. They were knowledgeable, professional, and thorough. Their expertise saved me from chasing the wrong problem any further. If you need e-bike service from people who know what they're doing and take the time to diagnose issues correctly, I highly recommend E‑Bike King. They've absolutely earned my future business.
