I used this cab company once quite a while back. I was having some repairs done on my car and needed a ride back to the auto repair shop to pick up my car once it was ready to go. The cab arrived to me fairly quickly, the driver was pleasant and the cab was pretty clean and in good condition. Worst customer service. Had driver show up. Had another passenger in the back seat. This was a tiny sedan-not a van. We were right on top each other. He took other passenger to Lowes on Rt 35-at this time I'm already running late. We go 1 mile down Rt 35 and I get a text that my job was canceled. Had him take me home and he demanded $36- fare fir both ways? I said it wasn't fair as he didn't take me to my destination. He essentially got paid twice to bring another passenger to work i called dispatcher and she was no help. Very disappointed as I use the 5'7 xs a week. read more

We've only used this company once, and within Quincy, so can't speak to a broader overall experience...but the one time we used them, they were fast and efficient. We were traveling during a holiday, so all places were short-staffed understandably, our usual go-to taxi company gave us a huge time window for pick up, so we scrambled to find a possible alternative because of our time crunch. Having read the other reviews, I was worried when the dispatcher told us someone could come ASAP that they were just trying to hook us in...but thankfully, the driver did come quite quickly. The driver we had that day was super courteous and came and helped with our luggage and was pleasant. The only downside was I did not see a creditcard machine readily accessible. The driver got out of the car so quickly to just help with our luggage (before we could ask to pay via CC)...so we ended up luckily having some cash. read more

Phone operator is unprofessional as fuck with an attitude don't recommend at all any other cab company is 1000% better and faster

I called several companies in the area to get rate quotes. When I called them with the address to get the quote I was told 39.00 plus tolls (an extra 5 something). They actually arrived very early (which for a 3:30 am pickup not the best thing...) but he told us not to rush. I agree with the a bit too chatty for so early comment on another post. When we were packed up and ready to go we were told a completely different rate than we were quote (about 55.00). Given this price was different than the verbal quote and the quote on the website I was mortified. Of course we had no choice at that time other than to be stubborn and possibly miss our flight. I found this practice extremely dishonest and appalling. Certainly it was no fault of the driver (who thoughtfully agreed to split the difference). I do know I would NEVER recommend or use this service. read more

Using South Shore Taxi is really hit or miss. Over the years (6) I have had some really good drivers. The good drivers are pleasant to talk to, generally have taxis in good shape, and know their way around town. Unfortunately the reason I can only give it 2 stars is because the negatives are really pretty bad. There are far more bad drivers than good. Drivers who really should not be behind the wheel of a car and its unfortunate that they are. There are taxis that are in really bad shape. They are getting some new cars so you may luck up and get one of their nice cars but chances are slim since there are only a few of them. There used to be a dispatch in the evenings that had a very bad attitude. I am not sure if he is still there or not because I have stopped using them at night, but the guy obviously did not like his job. South Shore Taxi I believe is one of two cab companies in Quincy, so .... you are pretty much stuck with this company if you need a ride. The other company is just as bad but there is good news!!! Uber has moved to the South Shore so maybe give them a try first. read more

Where to start? The decrepit nature of most of the cabs? The *multiple* drivers who've been busted for *multiple* incidents of selling drugs from their cabs? The horribly rude afternoon dispatcher? Every time I couldn't get a Yellow Cab in a timely fashion, I'd call Shore, but, well. Two particular incidents. The first was when a driver got pissy (and not for the first time) at my wife, who was disinclined to chatter after a long day of work, and finished with "Oh, I know EXACTLY where YOU live." That and a couple more offensive cracks led to a police letter, and the last time we called Shore for a couple years. But the very next time I called them -- and the very last -- was when Yellow Cab told me it'd be at least an hour, maybe more, when I needed a ride home (with a Christmas tree) in a blizzard. Fair enough, I tried Shore. Sure, they told me I'd get a cab in ten minutes. Twenty minutes later, I called again. Yeah, it was just a delay, just a few more minutes. A half hour later, I called again, and was told just ten more minutes. Twenty minutes after THAT, I called again and demanded to speak to the manager, and he dared to tell me "What do you expect?" Well, I expect an honest estimate of time, and if they have no idea, to be told that. I wound up DRAGGING that Christmas tree home (uphill a mile, but it slid in the snow without too much trouble), and never called this terrible excuse for a business again. This is the same outfit as Marina Bay Taxi, so don't be fooled. (As against that, the cabs have the same logo and livery, except in red rather than navy blue and with the "Marina Bay" words.) The same owner also owns the Blue Cab outfit operating out of Braintree and Weymouth, but the couple times I had to take those cabs had fewer problems ... other than the two and a half hour wait and several phone calls it took once to get my groceries home from Weymouth. read more

Absolutely unprofessional taxi service. I called the night before booking a cab to Logan airport from Braintree, assured that the taxi would be a flat fee of $40 and accept credit card payments. The taxi smelt like smoke, had crumbs and wrappers on the seats and the driver did not drive well. Arrived at the airport, $50.60 (not the flat fee) ready to pay and was told "the credit card processing was not working". Luckily I had cash on hand and had to hand write my receipt, but will absolutely not be using this service again and do not recommend this to anyone else. Stick with Uber / Lyft even if it costs a premium. read more

I needed to get my car fixed while I was out of town, so I called two days in advance to schedule a taxi to pick me up at the body shop and take me to Logan. I gave the address, explained that it was an auto body shop, provided a phone number & asked that they call when the car arrived. I arrived half an hour early, and sat and waited. Finally, 5 minutes before my pick up time, I called the dispatcher to make sure someone was on their way. She asked if I was waiting at a body shop and rudely told me "he's been there waiting for you." I would have forgiven that, but the driver was a piece of work. He spent the whole drive muttering to himself about how to drive. I felt completely unsafe. On the plus side, they were on time, the cab was clean, and the price is reasonable. I may try again and hope for a different driver. read more

Undependable and just plain rude! I have used Shore Taxi in the past to go from South Weymouth to the Holbrook/Brockton Line. Tonight I was informed - very abruptly - that Shore Taxi does not serve South Weymouth. huh? Since when? Dispatch was ill-informed and ill-mannered. Look elsewhere for your transportation, kids. These guys have gone way downhill and I would not trust them when you need them. read more

To add insult to injury after many bad experiences with this company's drivers and dispatch failures, one of their drivers nearly ran me over turning the wrong way down the one way exit of the star market plaza in Quincy Center. These people use different names so when you have a bad experience you think you're calling another company, but you're not. Call yellow cab. I'm super outraged. I called this morning because I NEEDED an URGENT taxi. And the person who answered me was super RUDE with me and still hung up the phone in my face. For the second time I called I thought the phone was different. He became RUDE with me and said that he did not care if I needed a taxi or not. That was my problem, he said. This cab company is very very very unreliable! I called a few times during night time when the buses are running an hour apart. The past few times (6-7) they have told me there would be over an hour wait for a cab. The dispatcher is rude about it and hangs right up. Called a different cab company came to me in ten minutes once I got to Quincy center station there's a whole fleet of them waiting there and doing absolutely nothing!! Worst company ever apparently they don't want my money. There's fare is also higher then the competitors in town try then you won't be disappointed! read more

Shore Taxi has come through for us on many occasions and they have ALWAYS provided timely and courteous service over the past 5 years. When we have travelled to Logan with skis, Shore Taxi provided an appropriate vehicle without any additional price gauging. Their rates are competitive and their friendliness is something I would never complain about. Normally, when people complain about a service it is because the person is NOT friendly, especially in the Greater Boston Area. One year, we had the nicest cab driver on Christmas Day bring us to the airport. Without realizing it, my spouse and I had both tipped our nice driver ($20 each) and the driver was SO thankful to us for it. When we got home, we realized why he was so appreciative. Bottom line: we did not regret this error, as he was a kind man who took good care of us during a holiday that most people (religious or not) like to be home with family. As others have mentioned, this place should be avoided at all costs! I booked a cab to pick my mom up at home to meet me at Logan, while I drove straight from work. First, the guy called 6 times because he got lost. Then, when my mom requested the flat rate to Logan (as Shore Taxi's website instructed), he insisted that was a "special" that was no longer on. Ultimately, when I reported them to the BBB for listing false prices on their website, they argued that it was just the individual driver's fault for overcharging us, and that those flat rate prices are accurate. I wish I could give a negative star... I am never one to complain.. However.. out of all the bad services I have ever had my whole life living in the Boston quincy area I created an account on yelp just to make this complaint! Not about the cab service but the dispatch operator... In the less than 2 minute conversation she managed to be a condescending rude mean sarcastic bitchy person.. When I called back to cancel she hung up on me.. Isn't the point of having a company to gain customers and profit? I was very nice and polite on my end I am so confused ! As someone who lived in quincy I will never use any cab services from this company if they lower there standards to someone at this level!!!! Not even worth my time to go into any more details. Inquiry about set of keys that has house, work, and car keys all attach that my have left in the cab Wed. 2/4/15 I contacted the company the next day and was told that I called too early and that they were way too busy to help look into the matter. I called today 2/8/15 and was told by the same man answering the phone that he remembers me and no one has come forward regarding keys. When I asked him if he asked the driver directly and how he even knew "me" he became defensive and started to yell on the phone that he doesn't have my key. I stated thank you and hung up. Any other business would write down your information and actually look into the matter. This company couldn't care less. There is no such thing as customer service. Both attempts to reach out I was met with an attitude and a very unprofessional and rude behavior. I wish I would've searched online before taking their taxi service. However I was late for school and it was the first taxi in line, so I went in. Their 2-3 stars reviews on multiple sites is well deserved. Never again!! read more

I have had a horrible experience with them. Dirty taxi, a driver who does not know how to reach destination and refuses to use GPS! Clearly, the driver charged us far more than it was shown on the meter, I was in such a rush to go to catch the flight than I did not want to follow. It has been five days now that I am calling the manager asking for a receipt which the driver did not give me but it sounds like they do not care about customer satisfaction. I am going to legally follow this through court since the driver clearly wrote all my card information on a piece of paper since they dont have the card reader! and He needed to call their center to charge my card!!!!! read more

The DISPATCHER is very RUDE! He will say the taxi will be there in 5 minutes after 20 minutes I called if the taxi is on the way and he said in few minutes. After waiting for 35 minutes I called again and I told him if he could tell me honestly how long really is the wait because my 90 year old mother could not stand up long I have to take her back inside the church so she can sit. The DISPATCHER screamed at me and said he is so busy and if I can't wait he will cancel the taxi and will call another taxi for me. How stupid is that? read more

i took a taxi home the other night after being robbed at quincy t station, you would think i could take a taxi home without being robbed again, the driver told me it was 50 dollars, i was crying and not in my right state of mind, i gave him 3 20 dollar bills and he gave me 10 back. the next day i called shore taxi and asked how much it would cost fromfather bills in quincy to the beginning of hull and i was told it would be thirty five dollars, the next day i talked to the manager and he said there was nothing he could do, im thinking that these people think im homeless and thats why there not helping me, well im not homeless and i will be calling the better buisness burea. whether a person is homeless or not they should never be taken advantage of, i wonder how people like this can wake up and look at themselves in the mirror, i will never take this taxi again, and i suggest you dont either read more
