Outside seating

Hey there foodies! Let me give you my take on Shire to Door. First and foremost, find parking on Grand Ave. The place reminds me of a quaint vacation spot. They having seating inside and outside. The owner is super sweet and kind. If fried fish is what you are going for, I highly recommend to call before going, because they do run out and everything is fresh. We didn't get to try the fish so we'll be going back. The price is a little high, but the service makes up for it and the bites we had was delicious. What did we have: :fish dip and Yuca and Plantain chips fish bites

Live music at Shore to Door

Shore to Door is a fabulous find in Coconut Grove where you can come as you are, get the freshest seafood in town and enjoy the friendly, casual atmosphere. The special treat is the live music on Saturday afternoons!

First let me say I was really late to the party : the Shore to Door party! Living in CG for almost two years and no one has told my about this place (clearly I need new friends!). So tonight My husband and I stopped in to pick up some fish at the market. Little did I know this place was also a restaurant & has live music on the weekends! We decided on key west shrimp and some yellow snapper. I was cooking at home so we had to pass on chance to hang out and pretend we were cool drinking beer & music on a Sunday night but we will be back for that! Getting back to the fish, when I got home I stuck the fish in the fridge and a couple hours later I took it out to prepare. First when I opened the bag I was like huh ? I could smell nothing except the sea. This was the absolute freshest fish I have purchased in a long time! I did a cilantro garlic marinade and my husband grilled it. Both the snapper & shrimp were beyond excellent. This place (& the area it resides ) is a very old area of the Grove with lots of history. No one is going to valet you car. You will have to park it on own , but I promise it's worth it .

Snapper fried in peanut oil, simple yet delicious

This is one of the coolest, most unique places I've been and have yelp to thank for appearing when I searched for seafood markets. You know those types of small, hidden tropical beach shack type restaurants which serve up whatever came out of the ocean that day, well this is just like that but tucked away in Miami. The owner and staff are just as cool like if they're operating it on some small island rather than a big city. I walked in and just asked for whatever they suggested and they offered up some snapper fried with a couple sides, sounded perfect to me and check my photo to see how delicious it looked and was! The back patio was great to eat at, they had some big fans going, big umbrellas to get shade and some Manu Chao on the radio. Can't wait to come back and I hope it never changes!

Appalachacola oysters

Buffet style patio only seafood and the oysters were terrific, Appalachacola! I love the "Honest/Honor Beer Board System" check it out.

Whole snapper

Really enjoyed the laid back Keys vibe, decor, etc. They have a cooler where you can help yourself to beers and water and keep track of what you've taken on a chalkboard. Love that! The food was good but a bit pricey for what you get and prices aren't shown when ordering. We shared a whole snapper, smoked fish dip, and about 4 domestic beers and a water. Paid $94 for that. The fish was cooked well but lacked a bit of flavor and was served with plantain chips and pickled veggies. I'd seen in other photos that it came with rice but none was served that day. Overall I'm glad I experienced it but not sure I'd go back.

They even have wine

So glad to see a new choice in the Grove for fresh fish (and other seafood) What really makes me happy is, it's a local business by locals. The 2 owners are long time Coconut Grove residents and they're not simply a corporate business. Got great deals and better prices than the big stores. And any time I can shop local and support small businesses, I'm even happier. I'll be coming back for a long time. I hope the locals and other residents come out help this business thrive. It's great for the owners, it's great for the neighborhood, and it's great for the future. #ShopSmall #ShopLocal #HometownPride Best of luck to this business. You're in Florida, you should be eating fresh local fish.

Select your fish on ice and they will clean and fillet it for you. Cute outdoor patio for very laid back and casual fish fries and music.

Ask the Community - Shore To Door

Is this place still open? Kind of confusing? I saw it on PBS I wanted to come from Fort Lauderdale but until I truly know what’s going on with time at all, I’m not driving all the way down there. No answer just a voicemail.

Yes, it can be confusing. They are only open Friday through Sunday. Here are the hours: Friday- 11am-5pm…

You serve your own beer, look on the chalkboard menu, tell Indira, she'll get her staff to whip it up proper.

Then you tell them how you'd like it cooked. They cook it up nicely! (Warning, if you go for the fish and chips, it's a cornbread batter, not a beer batter.) Some of the best lobster. Delicious eats, attentive and friendly staff. I'd go again when in the area.

If so, I…read morewould have come at a time where I was hungry and for a mere five dollars had them prepare my meal for me. But that being said, I found it to be a very nice fish market. Now there is a huge downside that you immediately encounter when you arrive. The parking lot is exceptionally small and people are parked every which way, except in the spaces. Getting to the actual building will take some time. The neighboring lots have pretty clear signs that they will tell you if you park there. So you're stuck dealing with what it is. The fish variety is good, although not great. If you're looking for strictly local fish, you'll probably find what you want. Several varieties of snapper and the fish looked wonderful and fresh. Some of my favorites like hogfish and grouper. You can buy the whole fish and they'll fillet it for you or you can buy fillets if they have them of the fish that you want. But the part I missed is having them cook it for me. Now that is something I would like to try next time The downside is they strictly local fish. You won't find any flatfish and I was surprised that they did not have any U4 or U6 shrimp which I like to use to make paella. In addition, I did not see fresh scallops. They did have some nice lobster tails although I did not see other shellfish. Some people have said the prices are reasonable; I found them about 20 to 30% higher than other fish markets I visit. The people here are really nice in the market is attractive. I will be back as I said to get a meal cooked for me in part because it is closer than the fish markets I usually visit and also my curiosity after reading other reviews. I recommend this market if you have the patience to wait for a parking space. If you're looking for the larger shrimp for paella look elsewhere

Lo and behold Barbaritos is quite literally down the street from our location! Is it good? Better than good... Fresh fish any time and prepared to your needs. Breaded, grilled, whole fish, filet, ceviche, lets not forget they also prepare fish croquetas. Portions are great, saved my soup for later and my boss lady was also able to save some of her munchies for a second lunch break. They really pack on their dishes with flavor. Side note: They don't use a lot of grease so it's not like the traditional swimming in oil dishes that you get in other Latin restaurants. The meals are also low in salt which I LOVE, nothing is worse than biting into something that tastes like salty rocks! I'm not used to seeing take out meals with a great presentation but they made my food look so amazing I felt guilty digging in. Was it quick? Guy on the phone told us 15 minutes! Which is a total bonus. I've ordered from places that take over 45 minutes getting our meals prepared. Service: Initial guy on the phone was a bit peeved with us since we didn't have the menu and we were asking too many questions, which is kinda but not really understandable. But when I got there everyone was really nice! Made sure I got what ordered correctly and gave me a menu! Definitely ordering more, and posting some pics of the menu! And for my fellow yelpers... If you haven't gotten the hint yet why haven't you ordered some nomz yet?
