Adoption of my puppy Cowboy went through after we already had a vacation booked, we were so nervous as he is a young puppy still getting used to us, he had a marvelous time! We started going here when we adopted our dog back in 2017 and loved it. We used them for doggy day care when in a pinch and our dog needs extra play time. I appreciate that they keep up to date with vaccines. The last few years it has become more difficult to get a reservation and work with them at all. Ultimately, we decided not to go back, the last time we called for a reservation they wanted us to do a whole new meet and greet. The owner is very nice but we won't be going back. read more

I cannot say enough good things about Shoreline Pet Lodge! My partner and I live in New York City and have been traveling to Branford to board our 16 year old blank lab mix, Riley, and 8 year old chihuahua mix, Zeppelin, every time we travel for the past few years. They are definitely an odd couple with funny, strong personalities. When we drop our dogs off, they don't look back and when we pick them up, they are so happy (and clean!) that they don't want to leave. The owners/staff are the most wonderful, caring people and the facility is always clean and welcoming. Boarded our dog Zoe for the first time in 2022.....she can be a little anxious but seemed to do well. Took her back this year, & she waltzed right in & had no issues whatsoever. They took wonderful care of her including administering medication. Will be using them again for sure! read more

A great place for your pet. We boarded a dog there 15 years ago & really liked it. In June we got a puppy & he now goes for "day care." The grounds are green and well kept - a great place for dog walks. The interior is clean & there are many activities to keep dogs busy. I brought my dog for an evaluation to attend doggie day care. Two weeks prior to my arrival I tried to have three conversations with Chris. I was left on hold for an extensive period of time for two of the three conversations and hung up. During the third conversation I tried to discuss my dogs history with Chris, her reply was "ok" bring him in. Upon my arrival, I wasn't greeted. Chris came into the waiting room and said to my dog, "come with me". I stayed and watched her DRAG him into the back. Not what I expected at all! If you take an already scared dog and put more fear into him by dragging him into an unfamiliar area, nothing good can from that experience. I waited an hour and called. Barbara, the owner, was very nice and said my dog would be evaluated by the trainer. When I went to pick him up the trainer said he was acting out of fear. They asked that I go in the back and retrieve him. When I did, his harness was all twisted and his leg out of one side and leash still on. This is a well fitted harness that the dog could not get out of even if he was Houdini. The only way this could have happened was when Chris dragged him into the back. I will never ever return to this facility! read more

I like this boarding facility because unlike others in the area, the owners live on the premises. This gives me greater peace of mind than the facilities that lock up and go home at 6pm. The employees here are friendly and really love the dogs. I have boarded my Lab and my greyhound here with zero problems. I know they are well taken care of. read more

When my husband and I moved from the New Haven area to Madison, we were worried that we wouldn't be able to find a nearby doggy daycare for our beloved fur baby. Fortunately, Shoreline's doggy daycare was just starting up and we took a chance. It has been such a great experience. Our dog loves it there and attends 6 days a week. The staff genuinely care about the animals and do a great job playing around with them. We just recently started boarding our dog there when we're out of town and that has been a good experience as well. The staff is very strict on vaccinations, but that's a good thing as they're ensuring the health of all dogs. I'm so happy I found Shoreline Pet Lodge for my high energy dog. He comes home everyday happy and exhausted, he sleeps like a rock, and I don't worry about him while I'm at work. I can watch him on the webcam during the day which always assures me that he's safe and happy. The grounds are beautiful, and the facilities are immaculate. I recently boarded my dog here - it was our second time (weekend long stay). First time was great. However when I picked him up this time, he had wet pee covering all his legs... no comment was made when they delivered him to me. Its really too bad because I loved that they had the doggy daycare program... I know he did too! but this was just so disconcerting to me :( read more

We are so lucky to have found an incredibly fantastic pet lodge!! We recently moved to Branford and decided to use their services. The staff are super friendly and the owner is extremely courteous. Our dog (Chowder) is a rescue and we wanted her to have a great lodge when we wanted to leave town. She has had a difficult life and we were anxious to leave her alone. We were given regular updates about how Chowder was doing. They even took her on walks. I'm so glad to have found them. We will be regularly using their services. This place is great as far as the dogs go but beware of their odd billing policy! If you leave your dog 24 hours from morning to morning they charge for one day. However, if you leave your dog for 24 hours from afternoon to afternoon, they charge you for 2 days. We got charged over $200 for our 3 dogs for a 24 hour period like this, which clearly isn't worth it. read more

My husband and I love our dog as if he was our son and we definitely know he is in good hands at Shoreline Pet Lodge. The property is very well maintained and the prices are really reasonable - I like that we can add additional 'play times' and 'trails walks' into our lodging package. Fabulous experience. We have three dogs, all different temperaments. We have: a non-stop hyperactive mini aussie, an easy going senior pug, and a skittish stranger-shy rescued australian shepherd. All of them had a fabulous time boarding for five nights. They all came home very happy and clean. Our Aussies had joint playtime every day, and we opted out of daycare due to our rescued pup, but they both still got plenty of exercise with a daily playtime. Our pug was happy just having is own run and living space. The staff there must have been fabulous because our rescued Aussie warmed up to many of them, allowing pets and even a bath on his final day. They allow all kinds of pups - even the most unfriendly. It was such a relief to know our pups were in good hands while we were hundreds of miles away. Can't wait to plan more vacations! And after price shopping and looking at other pet lodging, the price is comparable if not better and totally worth it! We've also done dog training classes through here and Jade is fabulous. We were going on vacation in CT and wanted to bring our dog but the house we ended up booking didn't allow it, so I searched around on yelp and found Shoreline. They were wonderful! They were happy to accommodate Timber and offered extra one on one play time which Timber really enjoyed. When I picked him up he was happy to see us but seemed like he really had a great time. Barbara and her staff are absolutely amazing!!! My husband and I were recently deployed and left our elderly cat in Shoreline Pet Lodge's care. They gave him 5 star treatment, sitting with him at meal times, giving him needed medication, taking him to vet appointments and so much more. We have also used their doggie day care services. We love the pet lodge! Our dog Elliott goes here for daycare as well as boarding. He has a blast and best of all comes home tired out! It is in a prime location for both of us to get him and they have great hours. We even go to their holiday events and like the fact that they give back to local shelters. I feel very lucky to have found Shoreline Pet Lodge. They're excellent with my elderly cat Maxwell (19 years old this July) who is blind and deaf but affectionate and still in good health otherwise. I definitely trust Shoreline Pet Lodge. The facility is a little old-fashioned (chain link fencing and concrete dog runs). But the staff really seem to like dogs and to enjoy being there. (I have seen other kennels that are more glam but where the staff look bored.) I like the menu of options and the way they structure the dogs' days. read more
