My mom was there about 6 years ago for rehab after a knee replacement, "HEARTLAND"was great....fast…read moreforward to today, 2024 and she now requires adults briefs and and rehab after an extended hospital stay...they left her dirty to the point she got rash and infection, along with pneumonia and other health issues in the span of 10 days! The place now called Optalis is the worst! The staff yells down the halls to each other, and ignores patients; twice i had to go there in person to get my mom assistance after her requesting it. Unfortunately, while looking fora new place she got sick and had to leave via ambulance to the hospital where she spent another week recovering from her 10 days at Optalis. BTW, there is no doctor on the property; nurses consult via phone, if he can be reached; their words no mine. my complaints to admin were not addressed! Under no circumstances would I ever recommend you send a loved one there; especially one who cannot advocate for themselves!!!!! This is not a place of peace and healing. far too much neglect and excuses. I heard "No one told me that, or its not her chart", so many times, i kept to yes or no questions. As a final note, you can observe that the room accommodations are old and worn out. The beds are antiquated and the lockers were recycled from another place, as they have not tops on them and appear out of place. The rooms never have chairs for visitors and the bedding and towels are all threadbare and rough. My mom's personal blanket was "lost" even though she is bedridden. I wanted to ensure an accurate CURRENT experience was listed for this place. I wish i could have left a great review, but that would require my mom healing there, not being carted off, in worse physical shape through neglect, in an ambulance. BTW, only once while discussing lack of consistent care did any of the staff provided directions to the proper channels to complain. The place is simply awful and should not be allowed to care for the infirmed.

He gave me so many tips that were helpful to me in my daily physical struggles, and he gave great massages too! The equipment and facility was beyond my expectations. I did not understand how these stretching and posture exercises could help reduce the pain. I was wrong. The therapist targeted my exercises and stretching to alleviate my specific pain issues. The staff was confident, friendly and extremely thorough. They asked the right questions, evaluated my images and concerns. I experienced a slight reduction of pain after my very first session. Today, after four weeks of sessions, I feel like a brand new woman. My pain has been significantly reduced and I feel great. The staff has always gone the extra mile --and staff is extremely friendly in doing so. One of the ways Gilboe's is outstanding is the way the therapists remain with you through the whole session, rather than telling you what to do and leaving you to figure it out. There is always a specialist available, there are always convenient appointments available. They have an excellent hand specialist who is one of very few in this area. Recently, Jessica and Sue helped my husband rehabilitate from a hip replacement. They got him up and moving with a great, progressive program. Instead, she said as long as you're here let's do some different stretching. She tied a band around my good leg, my good foot, held it tight and told me to turn my ankle without turning my leg, I told her it was hurting all the way up to my thigh. She said that's OK. You're using muscles. You haven't used before. She continued to do this regardless of me telling her it was uncomfortable and I was getting a Charlie horse in my upper thigh. We did this for one minute One Direction one minute the other direction pulling against that band that she was holding tight. When I left and went to get in my car, my knee was bothering me to step up into my car by that afternoon. My knee was aching and by that night, I could hardly walk. I have an appointment this morning with the orthopedic surgeon as it has kept me awake at night and I can't walk my dog. She's done something to my good knee that didn't have a thing wrong with it before I came in would never recommend this place!

If you need a quieter and more private experience, you'll want to specifically mention that when checking out other PT facilities. I have had physical therapy before and I have never had a therapist/technician working with two clients at one time. That may be the norm now, but it certainly wasn't in the past and that is the experience you will have at this facility. The intake room was private and quiet, but the physical therapy that goes on in the main part of the facility is open to everyone and rather small. I wouldn't have a problem with that if the staff were attentive to their clients rather than socializing with each other, but that was not the case. The targeted exercises, availability at this facility, and the Limber app were all great. Unfortunately, the overall experience was too loud and distracting for me to consider using them long-term.

I've been treated at various PT practices over the years, and Advanced Physical Therapy is the best. It's small, comfortable, and well-staffed. Another tip: Don't trust your body to untrained amateurs. I made that mistake at Stretch Lab, and I suffered for a week.
