Outrageous Overcharging! Stay away from F. HRR! They will vastly overcharge you for basic repairs and give you false information just to make a bigger sale. They charged me a staggering $800 just for a basic capacitor and the labor to install it. They claimed a universal fan motor would not fit my HVAC unit. They lied to me and said that my unit would only fit the expensive manufacturer model for $2,400. I called a second company for a backup opinion. They easily installed a universal fan motor with zero issues. The total cost for parts and labor was a fraction of what F. HRR quoted me.This company is dishonest and overpriced. Save your hard-earned money and call a different HVAC service instead. read more

Got great service when they were locally owned, but since they are now part of FH Furr, they're terrible. I'm one of the lucky former customers who called to schedule a maintenance appointment for a water tank flush, left a message, and never heard from them. Perhaps it was because I mentioned the $49 promotion that they offer on their website, that they didn't bother returning the call. Two weeks later on a Saturday, I contacted The Plumbing Officials who responded within 10 minutes and offered to do the job that day but I scheduled the job for Monday. That's how service is supposed to work. It's appears that the new company is only looking for volume and their work isn't what it used to be. To get a better idea, check out the reviews for FH Furr on yelp, It ain't pretty. Fun fact: FH Furr doesn't allow you to opt out of receiving ALL emails from them. Sure, you can stop the marketing emails, but they force you to select from a list of the ones you want. I had a shower that was slowly leaking. I had purchased the hardware and wanted them to do either a gasket kit to stop leak or use my hardware and replace. The guy that came out said that either option is not possible. I needed a Delta. My Koehler was a 6 inch but my shower required a 4 inch whatever that means. He also said the gasket kit was not possible for some reason? He offered a solution, a package deal where he would use his hardware and replace all included for 1000 dollars. That was it, the only option. I chose this company because a neighbor was related to someone in the company. It did not sound right so I told him I would be in touch and paid the 90 dollars (to be shook down). I got another quote, simply said he could do the gasket for 150ish dollars or use my hardware I bought for 400 dollars. Heck he did not even have to cut into the back of the dry wall to get inside. Excellent job replacing for less than half of quote. I would give zero stars if I could due to the lies. Hope you enjoy the 90 bucks to lie to me for 5 minutes. read more

Verdict For my HVAC, I've worked with 3 contractors and spoken with 10 altogether in the area. I highly recommend Short Pump Heating & Air. They are knowledgeable in providing the best solution for a fair price. It's not the lowest, but the most valuable. Jason and his staff were responsive and knowledgeable. They don't take shortcuts, but provide the best recommendation for the best quality of life. For plumbing, while I did reach out to Short Pump Heating & Air, I ultimately went with another company because what I wanted wasn't available. Overall experience I had to replace my HVAC in a 2-unit home. Jason fixed previous ductwork inefficiency and suggest a larger unit along with another return vent as required for the larger unit. Other contractors recommended against a larger unit because it's too much work to create another return vent and none bring up the ductwork problem. All their staffs were just as knowledgeable as Jason and always responded back on the same day, even on the weekend. Service Jason did a very thorough evaluation of my situation. He's not interested in just replacing the unit, but to make sure I fix some of the mishaps from the previous installer. He provided an estimate right away and even include another return vent that no other contractors want to do. His staff kept me in the loop during the whole process. During the installation and the 1st 2 years of maintenance, there are always two technicians. In the last maintenance, I was made aware that I had mold built-up in the duct. Hopefully, with regular maintenance, this is under control. Price I've got 7 quotes to replace my HVAC. This is the best quote for a high-quality, larger unit, a new return vent, and replacing some of the previous ductwork. I needed a plumber to fix a problem with my dishwasher/kitchen sink/garbage disposal. I had a video of water leaking out of the bottom cabinet from the garbage disposal electrical box while the dishwasher was running. The plumber ran the dishwasher in a quick cycle s few times, tightened a few screws and then charged me $204.00 for all of 20 minutes of work. What a rip off and the problem is still not fixed. I believe he didn't want to take the time to fix it, he put in minimal effort so he could charge me more money. They are more expensive than some others but the value and professionalism outweighs the cost. I had a weekend hvac emergency and I called their oncall and left a voicemail. His name is Matt and he works with BREMAC. So you see three different names here all trading under F H Furr..(yep and unusual name) but I am here to say the service is awesome. Short Pump Heading & Air is not transparent in their services when new clients seek to have work done. They charge a minimum $99.00 "truck fee" to have someone come to your home for an evaluation even if no work is completed. This fee is not deducted should you agree to have work done. This "truck fee" is not disclosed by their office assistants that book appointments nor by the technicians prior to their arrival. This information is not readily available on their website either. I am very disappointed by this manipulative business practice and will ensure to spread this information to all of my network within this area. I would recommend going with other local vendors within the area that provide transparent evaluations and quality service. read more

My contract was unilaterally cancelled by them without notifying me because my air conditioner needed to be serviced from the roof. I understand that they might need to cancel the policy, but not having the professional courtesy to let me know was unacceptable. This is in response to Matt's comment. The problem is that you did not bother to tell me that you were not renewing the contract..no phone call, no email, no text message, nothing. It was a unilateral decision taken without informing me. Short Pump Heating and Air did an outstanding job last year and again this year. In 2020 they replaced my old ac unit with a very efficient HP and were very professional and efficient in making sure it worked perfectly before leaving. In 2021, my 11 year old gas water heater basically only supplied luke warm water and after struggling with it for a week trying to troubleshoot and get it working myself, it just stopped working. I contacted them at 9:30 am and by 3 pm we had a new gas hot water heater that far surpassed my old heater. I can't recommend them high enough for excellent service and very professional technicians. read more

Last weekend our Power Vent Hot Water heater failed. I was able to reach this company on Saturday, the Master Plumber, Jeff, took down our data. When the supplier opened on Monday morning, Jeff was over removed the old heater, processed our warranty claim (installed by "others") and was back with the new heater and did an impeccable job of installing the new heater. He cleaned all of the installation debris away, did a very neat job and could not have been nicer. They took care of filing the warranty claim, they were competitive on price and I can't say enough about the complete process. Called short pump on Christmas Day last year because my water heater died at THE WORST POSSIBLE TIME!! The plumber from Short pump arrived 45 min after I called. Not bad for Christmas morning. He was the nicest guy and walked me thru a few options including (to my surprise) putting in a new heater the next day, which was awesome because I had family in town. I agreed and he returned the next day and installed the heater and I haven't had a problem since. I called them the other day when my A/C was blowing hot air and they fit me in same day. The tech that arrived was extremely helpful, clean cut and seemed knowledgeable. He did a awesome job and had us "chilling" in no time. I highly recommend these guys and want to say thanks again! We recently purchased and had installed a Mitsubishi split system to better heat and cool our large bedroom and bath over our garage. The team installing was Chris, Ryan and James with Short Pump Heating and Air. The workmanship was excellent and installers most professional. They were very articulate with the installation and used drop cloths to protect our stairway and floors. This company is a diamond contractor certified by Mitsubishi. I highly recommend them. My hot water heater sort of exploded when a technician touched a valve. Two months prior someone from the same company looked at it and suggested a few minor things I could do to help a leak but did not suggest replacing it. The day it exploded hot water went everywhere, the technician was only worried about his tools getting wet, and tracked water all over the house. I heard him on the phone with his boss being very defensive about the situation. He called in his plumber without my authorization. When I immediately called the company about the situation the owner never apologized, and was extremely condescending, actually yelling at ME. Will never use their services again. read more

We had to replace our upstairs unit and the guys where so clean and the job looked professional!
