We were well aware of the volume of poor experiences that are rated poorly both here and on Facebook so we went in not expecting to buy a vehicle but thinking we could at least test drive locally and then branch out to find one in the metroplex. We ended up really liking our sales associate and ultimately found a truck on the lot that they were able to match the deal that we had found elsewhere so we decided to buy. All around really great experience until it was time to go back to financing and that's when things got really shady. Typical for car dealership so I would say this isn't anything outside of the norm, but I just hate the fact that it's a default for car dealerships to try to be sneaky and overcharge you at every single step. Word for the wise for anyone looking to purchase a vehicle - always know what your agreed-upon price is and double check that piece of paper before you sign it. This has been the worst experience of my life. I will NEVER come here again and I will spend the rest of my life telling people how horrible this place is. I drove four hours for a car here because they refused to do anything over the phone like most dealers will, which that's fine whatever. I get there and it starts immediately, they had this car deeply marked down and immediately tried to tack on $20,000. $20,000!! So I spent hours arguing with them. Several thousand for a low jack I don't want, $1,000 document fee, $1,099 listing fee, $1,000 door protection, didn't apply the $7,000 rebate, on and on and on. And some stuff they just refused to remove because they said it was priced so low. Then don't price it that low? But you did so to bait someone in and screw them. So we finally come to terms after hours of this back and forth. Then I get to finance. They try to hit me with an 11% rate. I said I have financing for 5.5% so then oh okay well do 5.5%. They say GAP is some percent of the purchase price and that's state law and tell me it's going to be $3000. I say absolutely not so then oh okay well we can give it to you for $800. So then how is that state law? After all this I finally get signed, which I should have just left as soon as they put down that first paper with all those mark ups. Now it's been three months and after multiple calls and texts and voicemails I have yet to get my financial paperwork. So I still don't have my paperwork and can't cancel my old service contract to get my money back. Now I think- what if I was some little old lady? Or someone who doesn't know that they can add on all these costs or give you a high interest rate and someone just believe they are acting in good faith? I get all dealerships pull some shenanigans but this was atrocious. I can't imagine how many unsuspecting people they've been able to just screw. There are so many other places that will treat you better, please for your own sake go somewhere else. HA! Do yourself a favor and look up all the Shottenkirk dealerships on yelp! Do not consider any car they post for sale online. They add significant fees / services at the closing table. They will NOT give you these numbers in advance even if specifically asked. If you have traveled a long distance you will be forced to accept their deal, or leave without the purchase. They tried to add $4k to a $40k car purchase. When I refused, they then required me to finance with them to purchase the car. I wanted to buy the car cash. I did buy the car from them in the end, and wish I had not. There are many good car dealerships out there willing to earn your business. Don't deal with these guys. Shottenkirk Ford service is the absolute worst. Everyone that I speak with says that their service department is the worst. I didn't want to believe it but now I know that it's the truth! I made an appointment to have my car serviced. The got my got at 9 am on Monday. They had it all day Monday-Thursday. I called on Tuesday and was told that they would know something by 3pm on Tuesday. As of Thursday, they had not even looked at my car. They sent me a text on Monday telling me that they would give me regular updates. I never got any updates, just a generic text saying that they will know something soon. No communication at all. If they couldn't get to my car, they should have let me know that when I made my appointment. read more

They added another $4800 in "fees" and we had to haggle all day long to get that reduced Somewhat. Found a truck on their website, which was listed at a good price. I went into the dealership only to find out that the OTD price was $10,000 more than the listed price. They were unwilling to remove the hidden dealer add ons which totaled $6,000 so we left. The following morning Messi, their salesman, reached out and stated his boss (Billy) had worked up a new deal for me and that they were having a hail damage special because a hail storm had occurred that morning and damaged the vehicle. I went in the following business day to see the "new deal" they had worked up for me to only find out that they hadn't come down at all on their price. The truck had sustained severe hail damage from the storm and they wouldn't discount the price of the truck at all. Complete waste of time trying to deal with this dealership. Worst customer service I have ever experienced! Would not recommend this dealership. I called today to speak to a sales person about a vehicle I saw online. When I called, I spoke to "Andrew" in sales. While speaking to Andrew, I was asking him to provide rough numbers for me regarding the vehicle I called about. I explained that I had about an hour drive to them so I did not want to waste his time if we could not communicate about numbers to see if it would even work. Andrew told me that I should just come down and drive the vehicle first to see if I like it, otherwise it would be pointless to discuss numbers with me. Well, if I wasn't interested in the vehicle, I wouldn't be calling you in the first place! I asked him if he could please communicate to me about the numbers so that we can discuss how much I would have to put as a down payment to keep the monthly payment affordable for me. He told me it was pointless again, and said that I just need to come down and see the vehicle and drive it. I told him I disagreed with him and explained that as a customer it would be helpful for me if he could help me out with the numbers first because I did not want to drive an hour if I wasn't going to be able to even make the purchase. Andrew then told me, "Well to each their own". I asked him to get a manager for me because I was surprised how he was speaking to me. He chuckled and said all the managers are busy. I called back and spoke to a manager but I plan to call corporate and write a review on every platform there is about Andrew lack of professionalism. Buyers beware and be prepared for a magic show full of smoke and mirrors. PLEASE READ THIS WHOLE STORY. I reached out to them after seeing a vehicle listed for sale online. Price looked good, I made a phone call and talked to a salesman who was very helpful. I was going to be trading in a vehicle, so the price they would offer for my trade was important. I am out of state, so this was all over the phone. Once I provided photos and my vehicle info, I received a pricing sheet with a purchase price less my trade. The trade price they offered was low, but in the ballpark of what other dealers were offering. I agreed to the price, but asked if they would extend the used car warranty to 12 months. Was told that I would have to wait until Monday when the GM was in. So today is Monday; I called this morning, was told the GM was not in yet, but it shouldn't be a problem. Waited another 3 hours; no call. At this point I'm starting to feel a bit skeptical of the situation; so I call back; ask to speak to the sales manager; who proceeds to inform me that there are many other offers on the same vehicle; 8 to be exact. One you from out of state is wiring money today, just waiting for the cash to come in. First I am hearing of all these other offers. When I tell the sales manager I'm ready to sign papers right now; they tell me the GM redacted the offer they gave me on my car on Saturday and now want to offer $9000 less on the trade, which is insane. I send over the details from their OWN WEBSITE with the trade value, they don't respond. I have not been told the truth once. Beware of this dealer! I should have read the reviews first. After finding the Maverick that I wanted and talking to the salesperson I drove 2 1/2 hours to Shottenkirk in Granbury to buy the vehicle. The sales person then proceeded to tell me I had to pay a $10,000 "Market Adjustment" fee in addition to the sticker price because the hybrid engine was in great demand! For a $36,000 Maverick! Had I not just driven 130 miles to buy the automobile I would have left on the spot. After a tremendous amount of turmoil I finally settled for MSRP plus about $4000 that I paid for with a check. They also refused to remove an insurance product called Premium Plus that cost $2995 for 12 months of coverage for trivial items that I didn't want or need. I'm now in the process of cancelling that coverage with Ethos Group Insurance for hopefully a full refund. Shame on Ford for allowing dealers to insist buyers must purchase this warranty add-on! It certainly makes me feel like giving up my 30 year allegiance to Ford Motor Company. read more

I ordered a car from the sales rep Joey on Apr 23 and paid a deposit under the x plan. Sales Mgr Brock said he would call me in 30 days with the invoice price once he heard back from Ford. Never heard from him. I called on Jun 17th and Joey said they did not have a build date but would followup with Ford and call me back. Joey did not call back. I called on Jul 29th. Joey was unavailable so I asked for a manager. He said that they still did not have a build date but not to worry as everything was delayed due to supply chain issues. I called on Aug 12th and Joey said they did not have a build date but would followup with Ford and call me back. He did not call back. I called on Aug 26th and Joey acted like we had never spoken or done business together. He said they did not have an order from me. I texted him a copy of the build we did together and the credit card receipt for the deposit. He said he had to get with the Comptroller and would call me back in an hour. He did not call. I called and he was busy so asked for a manager. The manager would not talk to me. He had the receptionist tell me they were still working on it. Three days later still no response. For four months they have had my money for an order which they never placed. Not sure how they could give me updates each time I called but now there is no order. Have they been lying to me the past four months and stringing me along? Sounds shady to me. Fine a different Ford dealer. read more

BEWARE OF THIS DEALERSHIP! I came here just to look for a car and had a pushy sales manager who swindled me. I was not told my "new" car was a loaner. My sales rep was very nice, but neither party informed me this was a loaner. Why is this important? Because myself as well as a few of my close friends and a coworker that used to sell cars, all confirmed they have to disclose that the car is a loaner. On top of that myself and friends that have all bought loaner cars, each got 10k off the MSRP. The GM won't call me back. Bryan talked to me after I came up to dealership and said no, we don't have to disclose that and it's not normal to mark the car down. Weird bc that's what's happened to everyone else I've talked to.He didn't even try to hear me out and kept cutting me off. This dealership has had a bad name for a while but I had heard it's getting better so I gave them shot. Learned my lesson. I'll never do business with them ever again. On top of that, I'm already having to wait to get repairs done on my "new" car. Don't trust what they say. Do your research. I was overcharged $5k and they acted like it was deal. We have had all our oil changes with them as well as a flat tire repair and all were fast and fair price. We highly recommend Beau as a Salesperson as well if you are looking to buy. He was amazing to work with a year ago and always says Hi when we are in the dealership. Be very, very careful. I bought a beautiful new Expedition last night and got a great deal. In fact, they were "moaning" about how little they were making and just couldn't give me a penny more. Then came financing. They knew I bank at Chase. I thought they would shop my loan properly. I ended up with Ally Auto at 9.49% interest, even with an 820 credit rating. In the middle of the night, I decided to check out Chase. They would have financed it at 6.49%. This is costing me thousands of dollars, and they wouldn't even consider redoing the financing, even though I called right after they opened today. Staff was nice, however, I was sold basically a lemon. Barely a month in I'm having to take my purchased vehicle to a mechanic shop because there's an issue with the transmission. They find other things wrong with it and of course the warranty doesn't want to cover it. I never once was told of ANY issues with the vehicle. Not even minor ones. They said it was fine. Shottenkirk Ford in Granbury is fully lacking in one important and much desired element most of us look for in our local automobile dealings... INTEGRITY. Everything you read in the other reviews is an exact echo of what I had intended to say so, I won't bore you by repeating it. It is amazing to me how completely "retro sleaze" this place is. Add-on fees no other dealer still pushes, Lies about who and where the inventory came from (very reminiscent of those in it-never-rains areas selling vehicles that floated down the street during south Texas floods), They couldn't even be bothered to complete factory recall issues prior to the sell. Then when I found out there were several recalls needed, they can't get me on the schedule for over a month. THEN, a chip flash update needed for the "a-pin" or some-such, runs for over 8 hours and has only achieved 40%. Obviously these people have zero knowledge of computers and unfortunately; today's Fords are nothing more than electronics on wheels. So, here is MY 2¢ - Stay as far away from this dealership as the road will allow!, they can not be trusted!! There are several Ford Dealerships within easy travel distances from Granbury and you will be much better served (Time & Money) by making the drive.
