Well tried this place for the first time! Disappointing- Won't Be Returning I dined at this restaurant, and unfortunately, our experience was terrible. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by the sight of a cockroach across the floor, which immediately set a negative tone for our meal. Then my son found a hair in his French fries, which completely ruined his appetite. Then my Gyro order was completely wrong, they gave me a plain gyro with no sauce, sides, nothing!! Perhaps it was just an off day for the restaurant, but these issues were enough to leave a lasting negative impression. Due to this disappointing experience, I have decided that I will not be returning in the future. I hope that the restaurant can improve their quality service for the benefit of future customers. read more

The taste is different than traditional American food but still quite tasty and it seems to breathe healthy into your mind and body. The amount of food is a lot per serving, therefore you could make 2 meals out of the one. The service was good as well as the different options on the menu. Gyro meat freshly sliced, moist and savory and a generous portion. Pita is warm, conveniently sliced in quarters and prefect for dipping in tzatziki. Gyro pita - good size, savory. Complain would be it's a bit salty. I think I will try with chicken next time. This was our first visit to Showmars and it was pretty good. The service was excellent, the food was ok. I had the fish sandwich and it was ok. My husband had the gyro and we both had side salads. Food was fast and seasoned well. Beyond hummus sandwich was supposed to have a generous amount of hummus but I had to open it to even see the little hummus that was added. 3 stars for that reason. Would go again but would definitely make sure the sandwich actually had hummus. read more

Greek/Southern fusion--I had no idea such a thing existed until today. This Greek girl liked it! My friend and I both enjoyed the Santorini Chicken Pita on a white pita for him and a whole-wheat pita for me. I would have liked to see the chicken with more herbs/spices, but it was well cooked. The accompanying peppers and onions added a natural sweetness, and the tzatziki was very thick but tasty, with small pieces of cucumber mixed in. My friend's fries weren't terribly crisp, but were still very good. My grilled zucchini and squash was well seasoned (but without grill marks) and was a nice side for the pita. The place is clean and the service was very friendly! We learned today that another Showmars will open in Brier Creek at the end of the month. It's a shorter drive, so good for us! There's a lot more on the menu I would like to try. read more

Unfortunately the quality has declined. The gyro meat was dry and the place was dirty . Slicks of oil were on the floor under our table. When I alerted The manager she said she knew and would clean it up after closing. I explained I could not get up without slipping . No response was given accept a smile. Let me tell you one thing about Showmars. Burger Gyro. Yeah, you heard me. This little Mediterranean restaurant combines a wonderful gyro with a legit burger! When I first saw this on the menu, I was really skeptical because I never heard of something like this. But, I thought I'd be courageous for the day and try something new. Now, my gyro had American cheese, taziki sauce, lettuce, hamburger, basically everything you could want, on a wonderful pita bread. I almost devoured the whole thing, that's how good it was. Also, If you don't love pita bread, what are you doing?! This is basically an upgraded hamburger. I loved the pita addition to this sandwich. I ordered another side of hummus and pita, which I ended up dipping my gyro in as well. Boy, was this a hit. Every flavor combined extremely well together, so I was very happy with my meal. Not to mention, my whole meal was about $12-$13. This is crazy good price, considering I can't go anywhere without spending $20. I was completely filled after this meal, so I will definitely be back here again. It was money well spent, plus I learned that you can throw a patty on a gyro and create an amazing lunch. All 4 stars are for the wonderful customer service we received time and time again. Wondering smiling faces who help you decide on their menu. Their dining room is clean with plenty of employees making rounds to see if they can assist. Bathrooms were spotless. Great place for kids and a quick in and out setting. Their hummus is just Okay.
