We found this place by accident and I am so glad! A nice menu that is easy to read. They have some unusual platters that I want to try. We were greeted warmly and the lady there was so kind to answer our questions. She told us they were known for their lamb, so I got the lamb gyro and was amazed at how big it was! The lamb was definitely the best I have had in a long time. I had grape leaves as my side, but it was hard to decide which one... they have a large selection. The drinks are self serve and they had good tea . A very nicely decorated place with tables and comfy chairs. They deserve my seldom given five stars. I only had about 30 minutes to eat something and I decided to check out Taza Grill. I've lived in this area forever, but had never been to this location. I'm so glad I did today. I walked in and was greeted with such warmth & joy. I was waited on right away by the nicest man, who I assume was the owner. I ordered the lamb gyro to go. It's was absolutely delicious! French fries were ordered, and requested to be "golden brown", and were served hot, but blonde and barely cooked. Chicken and gyro meat clearly dried out from sitting around for hours. Would not recommend. Place can't decide what it is; can't have a Greek grill but offering buffalo cauliflower bites and zucchini fries. Pick a lane, be the best at it, or move on. The chicken has a different but tasty spice to it and is tender. The tabouli is very good and similar in quality. The hummus is plain and more of a smoother texture with a stronger lemony taste. It's very good but my preference leans more toward a thicker texture (usually from leaving the shell on the garbanzo beans). The menu offerings and prices are in line with other similar places. Unlike Greek Fiesta, the service here is very quick and with friendly faces. And the orders are accurate. The restaurant is small but has plenty of tables (about 15) and is kept up and clean. The noise level was medium when 4 tables filled up. I came here and all 3 employees had no mask, no gloves... nothing. And all 3 of them were handling food and/or drink cups. We still ended up getting food but I sorta wish we hadn't. We both got the gyro combo which comes with fries and a drink for $10.99. I got chicken for the gyro. The gyro was freshly made but ended up being pretty bland. The chicken had minimal seasoning and the chunks were large, and the only noticeable flavor came from the tzaziki, which you don't get in every bite. The fries were also freshly made but very bland. No salt or seasoning at all. They have seasoning in the back you can add but we just happened upon it - they didn't mention or suggest it. The service was "eh" regardless of the lack of masks. But with no masks on top of that? Yikes. If I want to spend $11 per meal I'll probably look elsewhere. read more

We've been ordering take out from here for years. It is good. Not the best gyro I've ever had in my life, but good when I get in the mood for a gyro with fries combo. It comes with a drink. The fries are nice sized and not greasy. The gyro itself has delicious lamb and salad and a good sauce. It is plentiful and well seasoned and well cooked. Hubby always has the Mediterranean platter. Went for lunch and was surprised at the amount of foot traffic they have walking in - very busy and amazingly, it seemed the owner behind the counter new half the people by name. They must be doing something right with such a high number of regulars that clearly keep coming back. Despite what the sign says, my gyro was not the "best gyro in town," although it was good and the food was ready instantly (probably because they prepare well for the lunch rush). It's not in my normal driving area but if back on that side of town, I'd give it another try. They have some non Greek items on menu so if you have peeps in your life who won't go Greek, not to worry, burgers, chicken fingers and cheese pita should suffice. The service is friendly and the food cooked up quickly. I ordered the falafel platter which comes with Greek salad, hummus, falafel and tahini sauce and warm pita bread. The falafel was cooked perfectly and the hummus was the right consistency and blend of flavors. Had to try the baklava and very glad I did. Not sure if they make it in store but tasted yummy! I got to witness the boss greeting, and Husband's preferences indeed remembered. (steak & cheese with grilled onions, mushrooms and mustard with fries). Me: There are healthier options. Husband: If it's not broke, don't fix it. Owner: the Mediterranean Platter is really good. Me: I'll do that. Drink options are soft drinks, tea and a couple beer choices. (no wine). I went with unsweetened tea. Small place, so we could see when our meals were done. Husband hopped up and sprinkled seasoning on his fries. As always, he loved his. Meanwhile my Mediterranean Platter was fantastic! So fresh! I had already been told they make their own pita. And it was served in triangles with a skewer of succulent marinated and grilled chicken, tasty hummus, and invigorating salad with fresh tomato and herbs, plus the best stuffed grape leaves I've ever had. All topped off with my "choice" of baklava. (under a dome, pick your piece) It was the BEST baklava, which I somehow managed to share with Husband. We walked out of there with me finally getting it. I am not happy that my company moved their office. We used to be able to walk to Taza and it was always an enjoyable experience. You walk in and they say "What's up boss" and things just get better from there. They have a great gyro platter. The lamb is always cooked the way lamb should be cooked, and they do not skimp on the lamb or any of the other ingredients. At the counter they have a seasoning you can put on your fries. One of the best seasonings I have ever had. Made the meal even that much better. The people working their are always in a great mood and treat you well and are happy to answer any questions you may have on any of the menu items. The food is not waiting around for you and they slap it on a plate and serve you. Your pita is placed on the grill and then they make the gyro! Taza Grill is renown within the RTP location. They provide superior customer service and support, with the owners friendly greeting and their distinct ability to remember your previous order. The menu is sufficient, but not overwhelming. However, the food is simply delectable, almost insufferably so. It just is. Mouthwatering, as the chicken melts in your mouth. Savor, as the spices mix perfectly with the toppings and the hot-sauce meets the yogurt sauce. Appreciate, as you'll probably never have nor taste a gyro as good as this. The "Hi Boss" schtick was cute. The bone dry chicken kebab with salad and potatoes swimming in oil was much less so. They do a few things right - the fresh grilled pitas and their dips are quite good. Prices are reasonable and portions generous. On a previous visit, the falafel was quite tasty and my companion enjoyed his gyro. I suspect that how good the food from the grill is depends on who's on the grill.
