I had them replace my factory speakers while keeping the factory radio on my 2016 cruze. The representative let sample speaker set ups using my own phone and music. I made my choice and scheduled my appointment. You will probably not get same day service here, but it is worth it to be patient. I was impatient on an earlier installation on a different car a year ago, and I paid for it. The effort of he other shop was not great. Sold me a crappy radio that was never hooked up right and I lost functioning of factory installed car items such as steering wheel controls. I returned on the appointment day and everything was installed on schedule and worked properly. I left with the radio blasting and speakers thumping. After a few days I noticed lots of static and loss of functioning on some of the speakers. I drove back and explained the problem. They immediately got to work. The person identified the issue, exploration the amplifier was malfunctioning, and replaced it. I was on my way in 45 minutes. After 4 or 5 weeks everything is working great. I'm enjoying the speakers and seek reasons to drive so I can listen to them. read more

I'm impressed! That about sums it up. This was my first experience with Showtime Auto. They installed a Navi system in my Acura. Not only did they do a great job, but even more than that, the people who work there are very polite and friendly. When I do business with anyone, the relationship is important. Jerry also went above and beyond. The system I purchased was very quirky, and it wouldn't come up with North Avenue on the GPS. Jerry took the time to call 2 different Alpine experts, who helped him to diagnose the issue. I won't get into the logistics but the system was way off. I'm not sure how anybody could have figured this out, but he did. He persisted until the issue was resolved, and was very patient. I am very grateful for his kindness. Would give ZERO stars if I could. All I can say is that these people ripped me off 100%. I paid 300$ to have their "high end" ipod integration set up in my car. It worked about half the time for almost a month and then completely stopped working. The installation also managed to disconnect half the speakers in my car. When I had a separate professional take a look at the installation, he mentioned they sold me a cheap system that was clearly corrupted from the start and was certainly USED. The guy felt so bad I got so worked over that he actually reconnected my speakers for free. He said he has never seen such shotty work for such a simple install. ALSO - He managed to properly install and set up a better system... for 150$ Want to get ripped off? Choose these guys. read more

Was on the phone for weeks trying to get on the books. Finally gave me a day and i brought in the car for an audio hookup and backup camera. Told me it would be all day. First gave me a price of $350. Then said $500. Calls me at the end of the day, said he was gonna come in early to finish it up. I cant leave it there so i go and pick it up. I brought in my car to these guys twice now, first time for getting an ipod adapter installed on the stock radio, and the second time, just yesterday, for getting a dvd head-unit installed. Each time they did a great job, and have really fair prices. I had all the parts already for the dvd-player installation and had done most of the setup myself before I blew a fuse. Knowing I'm no expert, I brought it to these guys and they completed the whole setup in about an hour, and charged me just $50. These guys stand by their work, are the most knowledgable car audio folks I've met, are really friendly, easy-going and professional. Can't say enough good things. I'm always wary of mechanics and auto shops since I always feel like they overcharge. So, when I was looking for a place that does car audio work, I thought I'd check Yelp. The reviews for Showtime Audio were stellar - I decided to check them out! I loved how the woman (I wish i got her name) was uber helpful! I told her I wanted an inexpensive, basic radio and she suggested that I check out Best Buy fist since they carry entry-level types. Showtime Audio carries mid-rage to high-end stereos, which were a little above my price range. If it were any other place, I'm sure they would have insisted on me getting the stereo from their shop. Anyway, the woman said they could install the radio for as low as $100, which I thought was a fair price. After buying a stereo at Best Buy, my cousin (the car owner) took the car to Showtime and they not only installed the radio for the agreed upon-price of $100, they also fixed her car's protruding bumper for free! I actually got my remote start, alarm, and keyless entry system installed here back in December for my birthday, and It's been working great ever since. I was very pleased with the caliber of customer service here at this shop - rarely if ever do you find such nice and honest people in the auto modification business. Jerry made a great first impression - introduced himself to me and my mom as we entered and complimented me on my car's custom wheels and window tint (I drive a Scion xB. You know I get the haters. It was like Kim Kardashian had just told me she liked my hair). The installation went quickly and seamlessly - we were in an out in an hour and a half or so. The lady made sure to walk me through all the functions on both the remote start and alarm, and answered all my questions expertly. She also assured me that installing this didn't void my warranty (and I've never had a problem) and print me out a little something for "proof" in case a dealership or shop ever gave me guff about it. They give you the option of cash or credit - if you can, pay in cash, as they'll usually slice the price slightly. And as we were leaving, Jerry noticed the custom LED door lock levers I had installed myself (minus the LED part because ugh, electrical stuff) and offered to hook me up if I eer wanted help with any other modifications. I got a subwoofer and amp installed about a week ago. I must say..I am so happy with the installation and the recommendations I had to come here and write a review. I have a Jeep Wrangler and during the summer when the soft top is down...the music is hard to hear due to the wind noise. The system just sound ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! I came in a few months ago to see about installing a CarPlay unit in my Toyota Rav4 and he was awesome about explaining the different units out there, pros and cons of each, and showing me my options - even when he didn't carry the item. Fast forward a few months and I came back with the new Kenwood CarPlay unit for install. Installation was quick and professional. Everything works great - even the steering wheel controls which I had heard were difficult to retain. Well I am reporting back, This place is your one stop shop for all your car audio video and secuirty needs, They upgraded my speakers, I got a great price and it cost less than I expected! I also decided to get a security system with the remote start, again, I got it for less than I thought it was going to cost me, and its so nice! I called and left a voicemail when they were closed, which often results in no response, and I received a return call on the next business day with a helpful employee who walked me through the best options for a new stereo. I then had a quote emailed to me within an hour, at which point I called to set up an appointment (which is not necessary). I was told that it would take two hours. I left my car there, walked around to do errands and find a place to read, and received a call two hours later to the minute. The owner then walked me through how to use the new piece of equipment, answered my questions, and took me to his office to explore other custom solutions (at my request). I was a bit embarrassed to bring it in since they mostly do sophisticated sound systems on high-end cars, but they treated me like any other customer from the moment I walked in. As I was walking out, the owner, Jerry, stepped away from his conversation with a Ferrari owner to thank me for coming in. The only reason I don't give a 5-star is that I'm not entirely sure I needed the new part. They may have been able to go in and fix the piece without paying $100 for a new piece. I usually don't post reviews on yelp, but Jerry and the crew at showtime audio deserve some praise!!! I had my install done about a year ago and this was my experience. I bought my dream car an M4 and was hesitant to have anyone work on it. I read all the positive yelp reviews and decided to take my chances with Jerry. I needed a radar install with a dash cam. I am super anal and research the hell out of every product before I purchase. I knew exactly how I wanted the install and shared this information with Jerry. Jerry knew exactly what I was talking about and took on the task. When the car was complete, I was a little nervous to see the finished product. During the install I didn't receive a phone call and thought that something was going to be wrong. I saw the finished product and was blown away. It was exactly as i had mentioned to Jerry and could not have been happier. When the transaction was complete I felt a little foolish for being scared to trust Jerry with my car. Summary: This place is awesome, and the owner, Jerry, is also as such. My buddy and I went in to Showtime Audio because his car battery was having a lot of issues, and the car would sometimes have trouble starting and had power issues. His friends originally wired 2- 15" sub-woofers in the trunk and he thought this may have been why he had the issues with the battery. In the shop, this really chill guy comes over to help us with the issue. He goes through the car and rewires the subs correctly, and he also fixed the issue with the battery. We learned that if the wires had been tightened in the car, it would have run the risk of setting the car on fire the way it was originally configured, so that would have been fun. The guy fixed everything in the car for a nominal fee and then even put air in the tires when he noticed one was rolling low. What a champ. As we're on our way out, we shake hands and thank the guy, and then find out that he was the owner, Jerry. He's one of the most laid back and personable business owners I have ever met, I gotta say. It's no wonder this place has such a great reputation. My friend is from out of town, but he said anytime he needs anything worked on in Chicago, he'll bring it to these guys. Amazing Customer Service!!! I do most of my own work on my cars and am very picky about who I want working on them. When it came time to upgrade the stereo in my Cooper S, one visit to Jerry convinced me that this was the shop to go to. Friendly, clean, professional and very reasonable prices! If anyone has a MINI you've GOT to upgrade the head unit--it sounds way better than I even thought it would with the factory Harmon Kardon speakers and an Alpine unit, bluetooth, USB, etc. While I was at it Jerry's crew installed a Bazooka 100w subwoofer--perfect for the MINI since you can remove it in 10 seconds if you need the room! I had a remote start installed in my 2000 Jeep/Wrangler here in '09. Recently I had been having problems with the odometer flashing constantly when I used the remote start. I was then almost involved in an accident on the expressway, as a truck almost rear ended me. Came to find out that my brake lights were non functioning. I exchanged the bulbs myself and still nothing. I thought it was because of the remote start, as it kept blinking no matter what. I happened to be in the area yesterday and thought I would stop in and see if they could tell me what the problem was. It was decided that it was the brake switch that needed replacing. I went and purchased one, and that didn't solve the problem. I have to say, they could have lied, put it in and I would have never known. Jerry told me to take it back, as they were going to reconfigure some wires, as they were deteriorating. "Turtle" is the funniest guy, and kept me informed through the whole process. The customer service aspect of the whole ordeal was phenomenal, and Jerry and his crew are more than knowledgeable-the whole thing (trip to Pep Boys included) took about an hour. I will probably be getting a new car soon, and know exactly where I'm taking it to get the speakers and remote start etc put in. I am telling everyone I know about them!! read more
