Some songs I wanted weren't available, like "Pocketful of Sunshine" by Natasha Bedingfield, "Stop and Stare" by OneRepublic, and "E.T." by Katy Perry, along with a few others I expected to find. On this occasion, I ordered the Tavern Fish & Chips ($22). It is described as "Alaskan cod coated in a tempura beer batter and served with French fries, tartar sauce and yuzu herb coleslaw". The positives of this dish are that it was prepared well. Both the fish and chips tasted good. The presentation was also nice; which leads to the coleslaw: The coleslaw tasted good, too; but I was surprised the serving was so spare. It's almost as if it was served just to optically balance the presentation in the basket. (See photo shared,) And while the price was not unreasonable, feel it's creeping towards expensive (relative to serving size). I'll attribute this to rising input costs. Staffing might be an issue during the lunchtime service. Service was okay, but they seemed to be understaffed. It's possible that most of their business is done after 5pm.

The au jus is fantastic, but when the prime rib is served in a pool of it, the meat becomes soggy. Served separately, I think the prime rib would be even better. In addition to the prime rib, the salad and steak fries are incredibly delicious. The salad is nothing fancy, but very tasty due to the ranch dressing it comes with. Wish I knew the recipe of the dressing. The steak fries pair perfectly with the prime rib. It's crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The only thing I would say is pretty average is the sourdough bread. Although it comes out warm, I don't get the sense that they're freshly baked. The service here is phenomenal. The servers are attentive, polite, and efficient. Can't ask for anything more from them. If you're looking for a trendy spot with contemporary decor and pretentious vibes, this place is not for you. The only queer bar in all of Los Angeles Counties, South Bay area and it's a good one!
