Definitely a no frills karaoke spot that locals come to relive stress and have some fun. You can order drinks and even get some decent ramen next door. My friends and I came to chop it up. Orders some snacks and had a good time.

The service was attentive and friendly. Our server was knowledgeable about the menu and made excellent recommendations. They were also quick to address any requests we had. I wish they have more new songs:(

I've been trying to find more karaoke places with Japanese karaoke machines recently, but ones with JoySound are 1) too far away 2) too much of a hassle to get to sometimes. I'm so glad that I found this in the South Bay and I can easily come after work!!! And it's so affordable on weekdays!!!!!! (I've been wanting to do solo karaoke as a hobby so this is awesome lol) The food was so great too, I really want to try more of their menu when I visit again. My server was very friendly and once my session finished, it seemed like everyone was having a good time at the bar or throwing darts Please give them a visit!

Our local karaoke place. It's been a long while since my last visit! Although they have a food menu, the kitchen closes at 10. I was a bit sad as we just finished dinner at another place and I wanted something sweet. Oh well! We ordered: Asahi on draft White Peach soda cocktail Chu-high Sake flight And all the sappy songs we could find in their library! Enjoy! Happy singing!

We came here with a group of 10 and it came out to about $40/person with drinks. The last call for food is at 10:30pm so although they're open until 1am the food won't be available. Instead we had ordered food for the room which they allow. The songs are organized by top hits, song name, and artist. They tend to have more popular songs on the list but there are a few that are missing. Not a complete list but the songs available are fun to sing to. The yuzu drink is great and will get you into the singing mood.

Astro Karaoke is a hidden gem I recently discovered while attending a sake tasting event on the weekend. Had no idea this karaoke lounge even existed until that night. Tucked away in a strip mall on Artesia blvd. Astro Karaoke offers a fun night out for groups of friends looking to let loose and belt out some tunes. This compact venue packs a lot into its small space - electronic dart boards, a well-stocked bar with an extensive selection of sakes and beers, and around eight tiny private karaoke rooms outfitted with microphones, screens, and song selection tablets. Added bonus order excellent food from the bar which is provided next door by "Ramen Josui".

This is easily the best Karaoke spot in South Bay. Astro Karaoke is a local karaoke bar that primarily serves a Japanese community, from the food options, drink selection, and karaoke machines. The ambience is very laid back and most of the regulars speak Japanese. It's a small community and it's been easy for me to meet new people which is always a plus. There is a wide variety of Japanese songs, and a decent variety of international music as well. The service is pretty good and I never usually have an issue getting a room to sing. The best part is that karaoke is $5 an hour. If you purchase drinks and sing, you will only get charged for the drinks. You can't find this anywhere else in the area. You can also order ramen from Josui Ramen next door and eat while singing away. I'm here a few times a week, it's one of the best nightlife options Gardena has to offer.

Bar area, Kara Okè rooms are behind the patrons.

Very local neighborhood Kara Okè (kah rah oh keh) bar with private separate booths for groups and singing at the main bar for drop-ins. Accommodating staff. The clientele leans towards East Asians since Torrance has the largest population of Japanese Americans on the U.S. mainland. Confer w/ management to determine going rates for the private Kara Okè rooms. Weekend and holiday evenings are the most expensive, and the price/person goes down depending on the number of people using the room.  Yelp lists the food served here as Traditional American. There are some rotating items that may be considered "American" such as Spaghetti & irregularly shaped Meatballs in tomatoey meat sauce, Pizza, fried potato Wedge Fries, Ratatouille, Lamb Chops, Caesar Salad, Shrimp Scampi, Crab Avocado Salad, Garlic Butter Sautéed Veggies, etc. However, at least half of the food is Japanese bar food such as Ja Ja Tōfu, Duck Breast in Light Shōyu/soy sauce, Sashimi flavoured w/ Miso/fermented, salty soy bean paste, Shichimi dusted cucumber & Jako/dried baby sardines, Japanese Curry, etc. Remember: Kitchen closes at 10:30pm everyday. There is a decent list of beers, wines, Sakè (sah keh), Shōchū (show chew)/Japanese low alcohol Vodka. Since Astro only has a beer & wine license, expect Shōchū instead of vodka for their mixed cocktails. I attended a birthday party w/ food catered by Astro. Mostly Japanese dishes w/ Pizza Margherita, Spaghetti Bolognese con Polpete w/  yucky Kraft "parmesan" for some Western slanted food. Don't expect très haute cuisine & high end Japanese aesthetics cuz you ain't gonna git it. 3 stars for the grub. Dranks seem to be the way to go, but hard drinkin' & singin' kin raise the appetite, and Astro then starts to taste a might better.  This is not a bar to travel 50 miles for, but if your friends like Kara Okè, drink, sing and are all in the neighborhood, then Astro will be the 4- star joint de jour.

One of my favorite karaoke spots! The staff are very accommodating and nice. I don't struggle with scheduling a room with them; at least during the times I've went, the place has been pretty free (so sometimes I can ask for a room the day of). There's a decent amount of songs, but I wish they had a bit more. Otherwise, the vibes are super chill. It really is one of my go-to spots.

Smalller of the rooms but still fit 12 :)

Since it was my first visit, the bartender walked us through the menu and shared some great recommendations. They even let us sample the frozen drinks before we ordered. We got the matchamacallit, makahiki mua, frozen ube, and frozen dole whip. Every drink was creative and delicious. This is the perfect spot for a laid-back night out. The frozen drinks are dangerously good since you cannot taste the alcohol at all. The decorations are great and I absolutely love the art. It even features my favorite Hawaiian artist, Nick Kuchar! The space has a great layout. There are two large high top booths in the back that are perfect for groups of 8 to 10 people. The bathroom I used was gender neutral, and there is a convenient parking lot right in front. They do not serve food here, so some folks bring their own. We will definitely bring a meal with us next time! To top it all off, the service was very friendly. They were so patient explaining the whole menu to our large group.

I really wanted to love this place. The vibe was fantastic...great music, a stylish ambiance, and…read morean impressive selection of specialty craft cocktails. It's clear the owners put a lot of thought and creativity into making their cocktails the centerpiece of the experience. That said, the execution didn't live up to the concept. The menu appears to rotate regularly, and while the drinks were certainly unique, most of the cocktails we tried were hit or miss. At roughly $22 per drink, I expected more balance and refinement. One cocktail started with flavors reminiscent of an Old Fashioned, but after the initial sip, the combination of bitters and fruit syrups created an unpleasant cough syrup like finish. We tried a mocktail as well, and it was mostly ice and soda water, with what seemed like a collection of syrups doing most of the heavy lifting. The drinks were creative, but many of the flavor profiles felt disjointed rather than intentional. The biggest issue, however, was the bar service and sanitation practices. I watched a bartender place a cucumber garnish into a glass using his bare hands, touching the entire garnish in the process. He then continued to take credit cards, cash, and other items before stuffing ice into additional drinks with his bare hands. Whether or not this technically violates health code standards, it certainly wasn't appetizing to watch and left a poor impression. Parking is another challenge. There is no dedicated parking, and unless you get lucky, expect to park several blocks away and walk. Overall, the atmosphere is a lot of fun and the cocktail menu is ambitious, but the drinks didn't justify the price point, and the sanitation concerns were hard to overlook. I wouldn't rush back, especially given the cost and parking difficulties.

This is definitely a place with a very Long Beach vibe (so it really depends on what you think…read moreabout Long Beach in general). The seating is a little funky, but the drinks are solid. The food is definitely bar food that's ideal for late night eats while buzzed, and the service is fast! Food: 3.5/5 Drinks: 4.5/5 Service: 4/5 Ambiance: 4/5 Value: 3.5/5 Overall: 4/5

After our party of six chatted over cocktails and preyed on pupus, we moved to a "secret" room tucked in the back of Stowaway and walked into a Belly Of The Beast. The founders and co-owners of Stowaway, Leonard Chan and Dominic Iapello, created this extension to the tiki bar with a wildly interesting Pinocchio theme and the famed encounter with Monstro the whale all the while serving the same offerings in Stowaway but with also an exclusive limited menu just for this adventure. With its proximity to Disneyland and its Enchanted Tiki Room, with the very niche underground-like society of tiki culture they found a consistent customer base and the thrill of island escapism through colorful cocktails, pleasurable pupus, tropical trimmings, and nostalgic know-how. How would my belly handle the beastly drinks concocted here!? PURCHASE(S) Gepetto's Last Words ($16.00): Intrigued by the cocktail's name, this elixir was crafted with Fid Street Gin, tangerine, creme de violette, lemon, and cucumber, it was a citrusy refreshing sweet drink that was decorated with bright yellow petals. It was nice, but for whatever reason it just didn't quite hit the spot. [ONION RINGS/STRAWS/STRINGS ALERT - 4.0 of 5.0 STARS] Onion Rings ($9.00): A decent portion with rings of medium to large sizes, these were hot, dark golden browned, crunchy, and had a slight tendency to crumble when bitten into while the onion ring (sweet Maui!) rarely pulled out at times. They were lightly oily while the catsup wasn't needed but used. SERVICE While in Stowaway, we informed our male server to let us know when we were allowed to enter the belly. Once inside and situated, we had the place and bartender to ourselves. After we all perused the menu, we placed our orders, and everything arrived within ten minutes. The rest of the time was spent chatting, picture taking, and our bartender checked in on us also giving a Dole Whip taster. All was casual, chill, and somewhat on island time - aloha and mahalo! PARKING (FREE): They shared a medium-sized private lot with several other businesses who were closed at this time with plenty of spots - 'nuff said. ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE "Hidden" inside Stowaway which was located within a strip mall, the entire theme was based on the Pinocchio story, the interlude in time spent inside Monstro, and as we entered it felt like the beginning of the Disneyland "Storybook" ride as you road a canal boat into the mouth and sharp teet of a whale. There were several marionettes (appropriate and non-appropriate) that hung from the ceiling and belly walls, along with other Disneyesque memorabilia, a few sitting booths, and a tiny bar at the end of the roo. No natural lighting whatsoever while an assortment of extremely low-lit electric lights and table candles glowed. There were no TVs while I couldn't recall any background music. ATTIRE Although I was actually dressed appropriately for the occasion in an aloha shirt, linen pants, and flip-flops, this place was totally casual, so a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops would suffice. OVERALL Belly Of The Beast was an adventurous fun evening with friends, it left me feeling childlike with the need to watch "Pinocchio", and I couldn't wait to return to try more of their awesome-soundling elixirs. I generally loved all-things Disneyana, and this new wrinkle, albeit probably not approved by the mouse ears brass, caught my fancy. My one drink was tasty but just didn't hit the right spot, the onion rings were very good, the prices were a tad elevated, the atmosphere was awesome, and the service was friendly and professional. They had an extremely limited menu, and there was some doubt whether or not ordering from the Stowaway menu was an option. Plus, I always preferred to support small local mom & pop businesses. I found very good value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $27.00 BEFORE any discounts and/or tip). And, they accepted my credit card of choice... AMEX! 4.0 STARS
