The chef was from West Africa and worked for Paul Prudhomme in New Orleans specializing Louisiana Cajun cuisine. The Special Of the Day was posted on a chalk board just outside of the restaurant. Everything on the menu with some vegetarian and vegan options was made to order with really fresh products. For starters, we got their Masala Fries Tossed in East African spiced ketchup, Grilled Masala Chicken Satays with tomato, cucumber & raita dressing, Fried Calamari with sambal Mayo and African Nutsy Soup (Vegetarian ground peanut). As an entree, we decided on Jammin Jambalaya consisting of chicken, shrimp & chorizo simmered in their homemade creole tomato, Grilled Salmon Teriyaki with sesame seeds, bok-choy & steam basmati rice, Vegetable Chef Curry of the day, Chicken Piccata (Pan fried w/ italian herbs, garlic, wine, capers & lil salad), Fresh Catch Ginger Beer Battered Fish and Chips w/ sauce remoulade and the Greatest Cajun Club with Blackened chicken, bacon, mayo, lettuce & tomato. Excellent presentation on all their dishes and the food was outstanding especially the satays and the service given by Miriam. Not the cheapest place in town, but the prices were reasonable. If you crave hot and spicy, this is a place for you which we can recommend.

I especially loved our mojitos which had a ton of fresh fruit garnishes and ingredients. The octopus and fried chicharron taco was probably my favorite taco ever. So tasty, handmade blue corn tortilla and the chicharrones added pops of fat. The tuna sashimi dish was also excellent. I got the aguachiles tostad which was sizable and fresh though my mouth was on fire by the end. Highly recommend.

I ordered the Tropical Tuna Tostada & my boyfriend ordered 3 types of tortugas (seafood + melted cheese on a type of taco shell). The portions are HUGE and my one tostada filled me up a LOT - the combination of vegetables and tuna was very refreshing. My boyfriend's tortugas were good as well - I tried a bite of his octopus tortuga and shrimp tortuga and the shrimp one is my favorite! Be warned - it is on the heavier side though. We also ordered the Pina Colada and Sandia, which were served beautifully like in the photos. I'll be honest that Mexican food isn't my favorite type of food so I personally would rate this restaurant a 4 / 5, but they craft their drinks and plate their food with extraordinary care and detail. Customer service is a 5 / 5 and the ambiance is a 5 / 5. If you're visiting Mexico for the first time, this place was a pretty good experience for us!

We started with oysters, which were incredibly fresh and clean-tasting, followed by the tuna carpaccio--delicate, perfectly balanced, and melt-in-your-mouth good. The aguachile had just the right kick, bright and refreshing, and the pulpo was hands-down one of the best I've had: tender, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. We paired everything with a couple of cold beers, and honestly, the freshness of the seafood stole the show. You can tell this is a place that takes pride in quality--from the ingredients to the presentation to the service. The atmosphere is beautiful and elevated without feeling stuffy, making it perfect for both a special night out or a relaxed but memorable meal. I wanted to go back again during our trip, but they were fully booked--which says everything you need to know. Campomar is absolutely worth planning ahead for, and I'll 100% be back next time I'm in town. Campomar absolutely lived up to the hype.
