Quiet night on a Friday. Staff let us in without charge or dress code. Music is good here and the sound system thumps. The DJ was good too, but for some reason on a summer Friday it was quiet. Overall with a good DJ and crowd, lots of potential. If you're going to get a table, you will WANT to get one by DJ booth. The venue is not shaped like a square, but instead it is a long rectangle. If you're not near the action, you are pretty much far away from everything like a restaurant. Bottle pricing is very reasonable, and table minimums are low. read more

Visited Shrine this past weekend. Not my first time going, but probably the last. All the 1 and 2 star reviews left here....believe them. Shrine is trash. Venue layout, rude security, disrespectful bottle service girls, ZERO hospitality. They have one major event every month or so, and all of a sudden, the entire staff forgets how to act. Literally saw security shoving unsuspecting patrons out of their way to create a path for themselves and the bottle girls. Funny that they're the ones who oversell and pack the venue to the BRIM, yet we're being pushed around literally by the staff. A bottle girl shoved me, then proceeded to yell at me to move out of her way. WHERE MA'AM??? Where would you like me to go? Then had the audacity to say I was being aggressive with her. LMAO. Seeing these other reviews makes my story all the more believable ERIC!!! (the manager who's acting oblivious to his staff's terrible behavior) READ THE REVIEWS SIR if you really want to know what's going on. Go on your own risk. Never go to a "show" here. They pack the place well over capacity which is a major fire hazard. It's also a bait and switch at this club. They tell you the show starts at 9 but the artist doesn't come out until 1am and leaves 15 minutes later. 50 cent did maybe 4 half songs and just walked off stage without saying anything. Do not attend any concerts or music performances put on by this venue if you value having space and being able to breath. They never stop selling tickets and pack you in so tightly that it feels like the sheer weight of the people pressing into you can crush you. I wanted to cry and the experience ruined my night. I had to leave before the performer I paid over $100 to see came out. If you want room to dance or move your arms from the side of your body youre paying upwards of $500. This place is gross and greedy - save your money for a real music venue. They said the performance started at 9 and by 10:30 two separate, very mid DJs had performed but not the person we came to see. This casino-owned nightclub charges a $20 entry fee. The music seems outdated and unsuitable for a 21+ crowd. I enjoy seeing one female go go dancer dancing on a platform surrounded by security. During my night at Shrine, the room seemed crowded with a diverse group of young adults. I interacted with people from all over New England, including Rhode Island and Massachuesetts. The only benefits of attending Shrine are the guaranteed parking and the safe neighborhood of Mashuntucket. I only recommend Shrine for the people visiting or staying overnight at the casino. read more

If I could give a zero I would. We received abhorrent service on our anniversary weekend in June. Unfortunately, we looked at these reviews a little too late. It was a very slow Sunday night with not much to do, so we decided to go to Shrine to listen to some music. When we arrived, we hesitated on whether we should stay or not since there were only 2 ppl there. We stayed anyway and were unlucky enough to get Mikaela as a bartender. She was extremely rude and had a disgusting attitude as if our mere presence was bothering her. I chose not to order anything bc I didn't want her to make anything for me. After a while, she started going too far with her "commentary" at one point telling my husband "you have to pay for this" only minutes after giving him his bill (as if he wasn't going to pay although he wasn't even halfway thru with his drink). Thinking I was misreading her, I asked her if "everything is ok" to which she snapped. Long story short, her fellow bartender got involved, accosted me as if I was some "big burly man" to protect his precious "princess" who needed saving although with a mouth like that she was perfectly fine. Needless to say, he also had to get verbally checked by me and then my husband. The manager came over and took her side of course (despite not being there for the whole situation) and asked us to leave as if that type of behavior is acceptable for Shrine. My husband and I were honestly shocked that the situation escalated as quickly as it did and it left an EXTREMELY sour taste in our mouths along with Foxwoods as a whole. Apparently she is no longer there which doesn't surprise me as customer service is not her strength. They tried to offer us a gift card as an apology, but we will not be visiting Shrine or Foxwoods ever again. read more

Unfortunately we were kicked out of shrine tonight. We had VIP guest Tickets from the DJ and we throught this meant on the vip section side in which we were in that side and told to leave. Since we were on that side a girl in vip wanted to dance with me so I was dancing with a girl on the other side while behind the strip and got kicked out for doing so "you are 6 inches into the side you aren't supposed to be" is what I was told. Spoke to the manager in which he said it would be too tense to let me back in... definitely disappointed and not coming back again. Understandable we were not supposed to be on the other side but genuinely did not know. Very aggressive and not welcoming behavior. Tonight, there was a young, tall, brunette man with double hoop gold earrings that was a bouncer at shrine. We were denied right at the door by this man even though we had bought tickets to see Sam Feldt. My friend and I, as young Asian woman felt very discriminated against and like there was a racial bias because there was an old white man behind us who was let in immediately. Eventually after much pleading, his manager allowed us to enter. As we were leaving, the young man said that he didn't want to let us in and we again felt disturbed by his words and presence. As paying customers who bought tickets to an event held at Shrine, we were never treated like this. This past summer, we have seen Steve aoki, Dillon Francis, and Two Friends. I am disappointed in the staffing and if I ever see this man again I will feel so uncomfortable and avoid him. Thank you to the manager who was kind enough to let us in and made us feel welcomed after that encounter. We were simply excited to see our favorite DJ Sam Feldt after driving an hour after work. My friends and I went to see DJ Pauly D on October 21, we reserved a VIP table in advance. We had extremely high expectations but were extremely let down by this DREADFUL place. I'm not even sure where to start... The security was rude from the second we walked in. I have gotten VIP tables at other clubs and was treated much more respectfully. The bottle girls were absolutely terrible. Our server was never around and we were told we could not pour our own drinks but she was no where to be found EVER. Also we ordered a bottle of 1942 which is ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS and no sparklers or lights or anything came with it and we asked our server why and she said "sorry I couldn't find any girls" that is absolutely unacceptable!!! This place has some of the worst bottle girls and service I have ever witnessed in my life and i've been to some pretty bad places. Also people were allowed up to my table by bouncers when I never approved of it and when I asked for them to be removed they did absolutely nothing about it. We also got yelled at multiple times for absolutely no reason. I can honestly say this was the worst VIP table experience of any clubs i've ever been too... you would think after spending 5k you would be treated a little better?! We also waited about 45 minutes to get our tab when we asked for it and had to interrupt our server just to get her attention because she was preoccupied talking to two creeps sitting at the table behind us. From start to finish I was disappointed in this club. The website states it is ranked 35/100 of top night clubs, including those in Vegas. I have been to several of these clubs and this is by far the worst. Only encountered one friendly individual, and I am sure it was because I was handing him my credit card for a VIP table to get out of the crowd. The thing that got me the most is when the serve brought my bill, there were lots of added charges that I did not order nor receive. Over $100 of extra charges. When I pointed this out and asked for it to be corrected I was treated poorly. When the bill returned, there was no itemized statement provided and when asked to get one, I was told all the prints in the bar aren't working (as I watch another waitress printing a bill). Next, let's discuss the cleanliness of the very pricey 'VIP'. Toilet paper, urine, and vomit all over the bathroom making it impossible to use them. If you go, please take caution and watch your bill. The show was nice and usually what's expected with club appearances from past experience, not complaint there. read more

Security will treat you inhumanly especially if a VIP customer roofied someone else. There VIP customers mean more than the girl who got roofied. Security there are rude and disrespectful and they don't care about the customer's wellbeing and will just kick you out especial paying $300 for a ticket on NYE. They also love giving you dirty looks when you almost trip by accident and catch yourself because the VIP we were invited too by two men was too crowded and the security (or bouncer whatever they are) assume you were trying to kick him. Then you try to apologize and he just gives you the death stare instead of asking if "you're okay." So story was, this bouncer/security guy at shrine was in a bad mood the whole night. Treated me and my friend poorly. Didn't even ask if WE were okay basically told us he didn't care and we had to leave right at that very second. My friend was okay and had 3 drinks and someone gave her a shot. She went from completely good and fully aware of her surroundings to not being able to walk, talk, or even open her eyes. Got a VIP table with my buddies. Got denied access to half of the club to see the performer for the night (50 Cent) and was way over charged on alcohol. Service was great until we tried to do anything but order for the table. Would never get VIP there again. Waste of money. Better off going to an actual concert to see the artist. And if you want to just go to the club. Get general admission because you'll actually get to walk around. Total waste of money and I'm not sober right now making this review.... so that tells you how bad it is. Get general admission. Maybe if I was a girl it would have been better. I've been here multiple times enjoying the Tuesday shows with the free tickets for the DJs with a bunch of friends. It usually doesn't fill up until about 1030 11 o'clock. They offer drink specials on Tuesday for Bud Light and mixed drinks with Grey Goose. Dance area is small because they rope off the areas for the VIP section making it hard to get around people that are dancing. The age range of people that attend the shows vary from people that just turned 21 to couples that want have night out making it sometimes difficult to enjoy yourself when you are being bumped into people that can't manage their alcohol better. The bouncers have been helping at removing those that are a danger to themselves and others giving the rest of the patrons a more enjoyable night. I've seen many DJs there ranging from Cash Cash to Elephante. I love that they are able to bring these artists to CT. If is a better place to go to if you want to make a night of the casino enjoying food, gambling and dancing to wrap up the night. read more

Yes..this club is reminiscent of TAO in Vegas, but on a much more tamer scale. The Asian themed decor is nice and the huge bar is centered, so it's easy and quick to get your drinks. Plus, it doesn't get as crowded here as the clubs do in Vegas. The dance floor was a bit small, but we came here on a Friday night where they had a Bebe fashion show going on, so there was a small runway smack in the middle of the dance floor. There are plenty of tables lined around the club, so bottle service would be good to have on a happening night (which I hear is Saturdays). At 10:45pm, there was a short line to get in. During the 5 minutes or so we were waiting, the bouncer came up and down the line, informing guys who didn't have dress shoes or collared shirts that they wouldn't be able to get in. We were able to use our free entry passes even though it was after the 10:30pm cut-off time. Otherwise, cover was $20 I believe. read more

This place is horrible The manager and the workers are rude. March 3, 2023 today, we went there for my daughter's birthday around 11:30, we had to pay 20 dollars each. We bought drinks and sat at the VIP which we didn't know it was VIP (no signage), the guy told us we couldn't sit here because it was for VIP but it was all open and he could have been nicer. We were there less than half an hour and we left, we lost 80 dollars. We spoke to the manager and he was so rude about it. He was extremely condescending. He didn't even want to listen to us. He seemed uninterested in our concerns. It was an extremely died night and we spent over $150 within 30 minutes, and would have spent more. Also, the place is very small and there is no place to sit unless you pay for the VIP and the dance floor is nonexistent. I don't recommend it. The only good thing we're the bartenders. I'm torn on what to rate Shrine. It's probably more like a 3.5...but then my review is based on being in VIP two nights in a row. Girls and I were up for a bach party....the first night we hit up G Spa (SO good) and Scorpion Bar. We intended to stay at Scorpion Bar, but after realizing it's not the best place to dance (and seeing a 40something cougar get wheeled out of the bathroom for being too drunk at 10PM), we decided to head over to Shrine. We had to pay a 10 dollar cover and then headed to the bar. It was ridiculously crowded around the bar...but the dance floor was not so much--yet. As it filled up it got harder and harder to move. The girls and I were getting frustrated and ready to leave...when poof, we were invited in VIP by a nice gentleman. From there our night was SO MUCH FUN. Plenty of dancing room, free drinks and fun times with the girls. Second night, we had our bottle service pre booked since our group was larger. We were a little more cramped than the night before...but it was still a good time. Would I have as good of a time if we weren't VIP? I don't think so--the dance floor is small and people are stuffed like sardines on it. The club tries to be a Vegas club--I have to agree it does remind me of Tao--but falls just short. Review only for the club! I went for my bachelorette party on a Tuesday night & had a blast! The music was great, the drinks were good, & everyone in my party had a fun time on the dance floor without complaint. We even carried around our drunk friend for a bit while the bouncers just waved us like nothing had happened. Why the 3 stars? It was my first time there so we sprung for a VIP table so we always had a place to relax or lay our stuff after a bit of dancing which made all the difference since there's nowhere else to sit. Plus, the tables are reserved with the expectation you buy bottles, not drinks so you all have to decide on one you like or you'll quickly run up your bill over multiple, extremely overpriced bottles ($200 for a $25 Absolut!) which became an issue since we all had different tastes. They had an okay champagne special but still. The server was nice but not attentive & clearly wanted to focus on the tables spending more than us or seemed like she didn't want to be there at all. I decided to celebrate my 10 year anniversary with my wife at foxwoods it was our first time at foxwoods in 4 years and we were very excited to celebrate our 10 year anniversary there. We read online about latin sundays at shrine so we decided to check it out i had her go ahead of me as i realized i left my id in my car with valet. So i told my wife to go head over to shrine get settled and i will be there shortly after. When i finally arrived at shrine abiut 30 minutes after she arrived. I stood in line and a man and woman were let in then it was my turn and to my suprise i was turned away. I informed them i read the dress code before hand and was not in violation. The gentleman at the door his name was anthony informed me that was not the reason i stead said it was because they were going to stop letting people in. In about 20 minutes which was fine but 20 minutes was not up yet and there was still over an hour to go until closing we planned on ordering bottle service to celebrate once inside. Anthony was extremely rude and can be seen giggling with another coworker about me not being allowed in. I never in my life experienced such emberassement especially on such a special day. I had already spent over 1k on gambling and other businesses within foxwoods but shrine flat out refused my business but gladly accepted my wifes 20 dollar entrance fee with no problem. I went here to see a electric band duo. The tickets were free (most likely because they wanted the place filled). I decided to wear red crocs with my khakis and nice button down shirt. The doormen denied me due to the dress code, which I completely understood. I asked to speak with the manager. Though I was heavily intoxicated, the doormen and manager talked to me and let me in "just this once." All in all, I was completely out of dress code, inebriated, and loud. They were respectful and let me in. Matthew (a doorman/possible manager-type person) was very kind to me and very professional. I called approximately two months in advance to reserve a VIP table for my sister's bachelorette party. I had friends flying in from around the country and wanted to have a special night for all of us. After reserving a table for 12 and giving my credit card information to hold the table we arrived for our weekend and I called the VIP person to confirm and the guy acted like he had no idea who I was and had to get all of my information again. What did these people do with all my credit card info and a copy of my drivers license? When we arrived we had the worst table in the place that only had seating for 5 people and was right next to the door. Our waitress was busy chatting with her friends all night and we ended up pouring our own drinks and were then given an automatic 20% tip. I contacted the manager to complain about my experience and he said he would look into it and then never got back to me. Dude. I had one of the most disappointing meals that I've had in a long time here. I was so stoked to eat at Shrine. One, because we don't have a whole lot of bourgie Asian restaurants around here, and I was excited to enjoy a high-end interpretation of some Asian classics. Two, I had walked through the restaurant and club back when MGM had just opened, and loved the design. I was stoked to return and enjoy a meal there. Three, I was attending a show at the theatre and we wanted to eat in a restaurant in the casino so we could take our sweet time. I made reservations for 6pm, but it became very apparent when we sat down that they were not necessary. It was a Saturday night between six and eight and they had, maybe, five tables during that whole time! I understood that Shrine is a popular club, but it is very common for late-night clubs to have a successful dining experience. The emptiness of the place was an early indication of the quality of the meal that we were about to eat. The ambiance and décor of the dining room were both great; I love love love the bathrooms (black toilets! hot!). Service was also good. But the food. Ugh. We ordered thai lettuce wraps, General Tso's chicken, and pork fried rice. I was excited to try these standard menu items so that their complexity could rock my socks compared to the standard take-out Chinese fare. I was so grossly mistaken. The lettuce wraps were okay because the veggies were very crisp and fresh, but the chicken was overcooked. The the fried rice and the General Tso's chicken was not as good as any random Chinese take-out joint - and it was four times the price! In addition, forgive me for being high-maintenance, I really believe that if I am paying thirty bucks for an entrée, it shouldn't be a. garnished with iceberg lettuce or b. just thrown in a bowl with no regard for presentation? I am no cheap bastard when it comes to food, but this was just...ugh. Luckily, the show that we went to see (which featured the top three Elvis impersonators in the world!) When we complained about a VIP customer throwing ice at us and being inappropriate, the VIP manager responded by taking shots with the customers and ignoring us. We then got another manager who said he would take care if it, but you can see by the pictures below that he didn't care about us because we weren't VIP. Two different groups of people - (about 12 of us) left because of the ONE VIP man pictured shaking the manager's hand and laughing at our complaints. The club is nice in its self. Although the security at this place is serious as if its Fort Knox or something. If people want to have fun, drink, get excited with the people around you, laugh with your friends, and have a great time, then Shrine is not your place to go, because the security will most likely kick you out in a heart beat. On the other hand if you rather sit down and shut up, and only talk with the people next to you whispering, and dancing by your self or with your better half, then have at it. First and last time going to shrine. Decided to go for my 22 birthday. My best friend and I were dancing and security came up to us and told us they needed to talk to us outside. He then asked for my Id and said "how many drinks have you had tonight" then told me I was "awfully defensive" when I told him only 3 one of which was in the club. I've been in Shrine a few times in the past and had some fairly mediocre experiences. The first time was for a friend's birthday where our group ate sushi upstairs for dinner adding up to an $800 tab. We then swung around to the club expecting to at least be comp'ed at the door for our bill. This on a weeknight there was no line and it was not very crowded inside, the bouncer told us we would be paying a full cover to get inside. When we put up enough of a stink about the food bill we just paid the manager came along and finally conceded. This past weekend I was at Foxwoods for a bachelor party. After dinner we were walking by the Shrine front entrance to gamble in the casino and I asked the door attendant if I could get in with shorts or would have to go change later. You need jeans to get in so myself and 3 friends broke off from the bachelor and the larger group after gambling and got changed to appease the dress code. When the 4 of us walked up to the (now long) line the bouncer waved us over and asked us if we were the same people from the bachelor party that walked by and asked about the dress code. Expecting that he would then bump the four of us up to the front we explained that we were. It was at that point when we were informed that anyone in our group would not be allowed in due to the club policy. Shrine bans bachelor parties, no questions asked. After trying to explain we had left the bachelor and the large group in the casino and that this was just a group of 4 guys trying to get in we gave up and tried a different route. We walked upstairs to the restaurant to get a few drinks and hope to move down at some point that way. There we met up with a group of 8 ladies finishing dinner who were sympathetic to our situation. They planned also to go to Shrine and invited us to enter with them. We walked to the inside entrance mixed in alternating the 8 girls and 4 guys and were started to be allowed in. One of the main entrance door attendants then walks up and recognizes our group from the earlier scenario and hand picks us out of the group of girls to reject us again. This policy is obviously arbitrary and I'm sure it's a game for the door attendants to blacklist a group for uttering the word "bachelor". It would be one thing if we had tried to enter obnoxiously as a group of 12 guys. But to be hand picked out of a group of 12 people entering with a ratio of 8 ladies and 4 guys is just ridiculous. Shrine is not a destination. If you are staying at Foxwoods it is one of the few available options. They would not survive if it were not for that monopoly. Nice atmosphere and decor. I guess we were early at 6:30PM tonight but service was slow anyway, despite a nearly empty room. Friendly staff, cute girls too. But they all seemed to be hanging out in the back room more than working the floor. The all you can eat $20 special is not sushi, but rather a limited selection of rolls - spicy tuna, yellowtail etc. For a bottomless pit, this may be the way to go, as did two of my friends. But I chose other items from the menu, as I wanted more fish than rice. Sashimi tray was meager, nay, downright stingy. Was that really $16 for 5 thin slices? Quite an artful presentation, though. But hey, next time put some fish on it please? Salmon sushi was delightful, the best fish of the night for me. Yellowtail sushi was just OK. Again meager slices of fish. My friends got full and had tabs 30% less than mine. At least the beer was cold! read more

If i can give no star I would. This club was horrible. The way they talk to us was mean. One of my friend was dancing while waiting to get in and they think that she drunk. We try to explain that is how she is. She always like that, that is her personality. We also ask them to do drunk test so we can get in. However, they didn't and one of the lady claimed she is manager was yaling and said " Do you want I get security" while we were kindly talking to the other guy that decide to let us in or not. However, it was terrible, unprofessional and wrong judgement. Some other friend get in and said the music was bad. I WOULD NOT Recommend anyone to this place. This place has potential but it was by far the most overcrowded nightclub I have ever been to! Music started off amazingly but randomly got WAY too loud after an hour. Each drink I got tasted weird...can't really pinpoint it...like cleaning products? Not sure. Bartenders were really friendly, but water is $5 after ~10:00 which is ridiculous. You're really making everyone pay for Fiji water to stay hydrated? Since when is it even legal to deny tap water at a bar? read more
