Damaged a nerve causing Trigeminal Neuralgia and offered no solutions or offers to help! Should have gone to Morgan and Morgan. I was given insufficient anesthetic for abscessed tooth and he continued drilling until I thought I was going to die. Should have sent me to the hospital. Worst dentist I have ever been to! Terrible bed side (chair side) manner. The only person who was friendly was a receptionist who is no longer there. My advice, go elsewhere you do have options! read more

Giving 1 star because ZERO stars isn't an option. I had a failing crown. Went in to have it either replaced or repaired. I think the dentist was on drugs, he acted like he had no clue as to what to do. He decided I needed it removed and would have to prepare the site for an implant, would have to do surgery and add cadaver bone because I had "failing bone". THEN 10 minutes later he came back in with an assistant and told me I could have an imediate implant done but I'd have to pay out of pocket to the tune of about $9000.00. I said no. Then the assistant reminded him that they couldn't do the same day implant because of my previous diagnosis (about 10 minutes previous to this conversation) and he looked stunned. Then mumbled something to the effect of "oh, ok" and said to prepare the site for the cadaver bone surgery. I decided that enough was enough. I told him to not bother. I left. They said they'd still have to charge me for the procedure. I said "good luck" and left. Seriously, I truly believe he was taking drugs or was drunk. Can't prove it, but wow -- just WOW! Horrible experience. Went to a different dentist the following week and they fixed the crown. No surgery needed. read more

I am a 77 year old woman with LOTS of dental work from various dentist in my life. My experience with this dental institute was poor to say the least. First this is a serious business operation, not your friendly professional dentist. It consist of 4 dental assistants who do most of the work on you and one dentist that spends as little time with you as possible. The work done on me was 8 crowns and one bridge over the span of 4 months. I had gone to this office for a simple toothache involving my wisdom tooth. I knew it had to be pulled. I was in pain for almost FOUR months going back to him each time complaining about the pain. His response was to crown the wisdom tooth which did nothing to stop the pain. Finally he took X-rays and advised me I needed a root canal on that tooth. I refused the root canal and had the tooth pulled. As he pulled the tooth, he commented "Oh, its infected!!" and simply walked away. I got nothing for pain and no antibiotics. I continued to have problems with the crowns he put in. One even fell out. The other thing that upset me is their payment methods. I have never gone to a dentist that demanded payment FIRST before any work is done. Here I am in the chair, in pain and ask to pay for the work by their billing manager. I had to grab my purse, get out my credit card and wait for the payment to be process. NEW CUSTOMERS BEWARE! Believe the other 1 star reviews and take your business elsewhere. I made an appointment for a new patient cleaning approximately 3 months prior to today. I had the appointment today, waited 30 minutes past my appointment time for them to start taking x-rays. After X-rays I was not seen by the dentist until about 1 hour past my appointment time. The dentist was very nice and professional and did a very quick dental exam that took about 2 minutes. She then told me I could schedule an appointment for a cleaning. I thought my appointment was for a cleaning so I was confused why a cleaning would not be done at the time of my appointment. I was then informed by the front desk staff that it is their offices policy that cleanings are not done on the same day as new patient exams and that I would need to schedule a cleaning for a different day. I asked why this was not disclosed and explained to me when I made the appointment. I was very clear when I called to make the appointment that I get a cleaning every 6 months, that I just moved to the area and that I was calling early so that I could be on schedule for my 6 month cleaning. This is when the office manager started speaking to me in a very rude and condescending tone that I would never have been told that my first visit would include a cleaning because they never do cleanings on first visits and that it was impossible for me to have been told this. I was then told that the person who made the appointment was no longer with the dental office. It's a shame that this office has such a rude and unhelpful office manager since the facility was very clean and modern and the dental assistant who took my x-rays was very friendly and professional. I took 2 hours of sick time to make this visit and am now being told they don't have an appointment for a cleaning at a time that works for me for another month out. Since I called months ago for the new client appointment, they should have also scheduled a cleaning, even if on another day when I initially called for the appointment. I am very disappointed in how this established is being managed and this is my main reason for leaving a one star review. Like others on Yelp have commented, their google reviews of 4.8 starts seems to be bogus. I wish I looked this sham of a dental facility up on Yelp before wasting my time with them. read more

Follow up on previous review. On 7/5/23 I reviewed the clown show at Shuayb and gave them one star. Although I claimed the "doctor" seemed competent - but with a back office staffed by idiots - now, 18 months on, I find out the crown they gave me has to be removed. The crown was seated incorrectly - allowing material to get underneath it and, eventually, will cause serious problems. Moral of the story: Read the reviews FIRST and, literally, save yourself some serious headaches.Western Florida is a part of the country where human evolution can work in reverse. So I am letting others know of my experience: 1-6-2023 Waiting to see the results of how they handle my situation. 1-12-2023 Response to Mujib Shuayb. I am upset and disappointed by your work and the pain and suffering it has caused me. I am equally, if not more upset by your dishonesty. Responding by denying I was your patient is extremely underhanded. I knew you paid out $10 for good reviews, but trying to have honest reviews invalidated is quite heinous. You just saw me last week and the month prior over my failing implant. I know you remember our conversations well. I have attached a couple of my payments to prove your deceit. On 10/27/2021 Mujib Shuayb placed an implant in my mouth. It was a stressful experience. First, his assistants put another patient's x-rays up on my chart. Luckily, Mujib realized that and found the correct x-rays. The procedure was rushed, unprofessional and Mujib and his staff did not have the proper equipment ready for the procedure. He wound up getting anxious and upset, calling out for specific tools/items. Safety and hygiene protocols were not followed. A few weeks later I had severe pain in the implant. Mujib tried to pass it off as healing. I knew something was wrong and insisted Mujib look at it. Something was pushing against the gum line above the implant which he released with his dental tool. On 3/7/2022 Mujib Shuayb placed two crowns, one on the implant and another next to it. A few days later I had terrible upper tooth pain. I was not comfortable going back to Mujib Shuayb. On 3/21/2022, another dentist had to crown the upper tooth that had broken due to the lower crowns improper placement. He said they were not done correctly and the bite was off. In December, 2022 I am experiencing excruciating pain in the implant. Mujib tells his hygienist to clean out the area. I was informed that I had taken excellent care of my implant. The problem was that there was a lot of cement left in, Mujib had not cleaned it out after fitting the implant. I was prescribed a mouth wash prescription and hoped for the best. January, 2023. I am in excruciating pain. Neither Mujib Shuayb nor his staff return my three phone calls that I am in excruciating pain. When I finally get through, they agreed to see me 45 minutes away in his Brooksville office. Mujib finally admitted the implant had failed. He repeatedly began accusing me of being a smoker as smoking can contribute to implant failure as his extremely immature assistant Stephanie mimicked everything he said as he spoke. I assured him I do not smoke in any fashion. He then began to tell me I had bone loss, that this was the problem. I assured him that my 5 other implants done in other offices were all healthy and secure. I asked Mujib about reimbursement, as I was not comfortable with his skills, lack of professionalism and poor care. He assured me he would speak to his office manager Jenny and she would get back to me. Jenny called me (they refuse to put anything in writing and don't respond to e-mails) to say that they would not be reimbursing me at all. I want to add that the assistants at Mujib Shuayb's offices are extremely immature and unprofessional. I have witnessed and heard Ashley threaten clients, including myself. To protect themselves, they make notes in client's charts that they are not easy to work with, or Mujib responds to client's honest reviews online with complete fabrications. Mujib's sister-in-law apologized for my experiences a while back, at least there is one honest person in the family. Mujib, redeem yourself now or I am taking this to the Board, BBB, News, any other forum that will listen. You cannot repay me for my pain and suffering and your dishonesty, but you can return my money. I contacted them for a cleaning after changing my insurance plan and my old dentist didn't except it. They took 2 months to get me in. I sent them a copy of my 4 month old xrays to use. I have thyroid disease and didn't want my thyroid exposed to unnecessary radiation. After finally agreeing to use my xrays and do a complete exam the dentist told the staff to set me up with a general cleaning on my next visit. They set me an appointment 7 months down the road which was unacceptable to me so I asked them to put me on a cancelation list because I wanted to come in sooner and could come on a moments notice. They never called me in sooner even after calling them twice to see if I could come in sooner. Well I went to my cleaning appointment today and not only did they want to take xrays but they wanted to upgrade my cleaning and charge me an additional $85. My insurance covers my normal cleaning completely. They told me they could do this upgraded cleaning in the same alloted time and use the same equipment. It's nothing but a bait and switch, a way to get paid more than the insurance company pays! Totally unethical and I am going to contact the ADA, the Licensing department, BBB and the insurance company to notify them of their business practices to start! I went there for a cleaning in June 2020. Dentist examined me and said i needed deep cleaning and 2 caps or I will need a root canal. States that they cannot schedule me for deep cleaning because it is fully book until August, BUT that they can start with putting new caps in right there and now. Hello, Without cleaning first and putting in new caps?? I forwarded my panoramic film and 4 additional bitewing xrays to my brother in NY, who is also a dentist. He saids I did not need any caps. I did personally saw him in August 2020 when I went back to visit family. He examined me and confirmed there is no need for caps!!!! I had "free" cleanings with this DDS through a Medicare Advantage plan. I didn't tell the office I was a hygienist with solid routine care. Dr. Shuayb attempted to claim I needed extensive work and deep quadrant scaling, indicating severe pockets with bone loss and soft tissue disease ( surprise! Not covered by the MAPD). Caught out, he just doubled down. Nothing this office does will be free and you will have lost irreplaceable tooth structure as he pads his pockets. Beware the previously commented-on referral system with his family. A legit referral would tell the truth. read more

Please beware!!! Went to this office for the first time for a cleaning and check up. I was told the cleaning would have to be scheduled on a different day so all I could do on the first visit Was X-rays and check up by the doctor. After waiting with a newborn and a toddler for nearly an hour, the doctor came in. He spent a whole big 3 minutes with me. Told me I needed a deep cleaning, that I had 2 cavities and that something was possibly wrong with one of that root canal and that I should go see a specialty aka his cousin. Now I have been going to the dentist regularly my whole life. Cleanings every 6 months and all. So when he told me I needed a deep cleaning I knew something was off with this place. So I left and went for a second opinion somewhere else. This other place was amazing! I absolutely loved them. Very thorough examination, more so than than Shuayb, very sweet and caring staff and on time!!!! They were very professional and I'm happy I found them. My son has been going next door to the kids dentist and I've been happy with them so I thought I would get my second opinion with them. Anyways, turns out, I did not need a deep cleaning, I had zero cavities and the "strange thing" that was going on with my root canal was absolutely normal. So....in conclusion, please save yourself the time and money of going here. They are obviously trying to scam people and if I didn't know any better I would have been one of those people. Oh and by the way my husband came too that day and he found about 3-4 k worth of work. I can't wait for him to go for his second opinion and find out what the truth really is. read more

i give zero stars. the dentist did not introduce himself, he did not even address me as the parent or my daughter, the patient. he just walked in and was about to start working on my daughter when he suddenly left the room so his assistant could kick me out, to which i said no, i'll stay with my daughter. i was not in anyone's way. the dentist then refused to even enter the room until i left. after three times, the staff was so rude, i said i'll leave but we are not coming back. also, he never addressed me personally, but sent his assistants. then i stood at the desk waiting because i could see my daughter from there. at one point the dentist made eye contact with me and immediately called an assistant to stand in the way so my view would be blocked. this is very,very suspicious, not to mention rude. why would he want my 16 year old daughter alone in a room and then block my view?? i was very disturbed by this "doctor". so i am also putting in an official complaint with the board of dentistry. read more
