That's when he told me, very dismissively I might add, that I had a hernia in my stomach. Imagine that. Had I never pushed to meet with him personally, I would've missed out on very crucial information. Secondly, when my mom informed the nurse about blood in her stool, the nurse was dismissive and did not address her concerns. Lastly, after the procedure was done, she was asked to leave the bed because of shortage of beds, even though she was still under the effects of sedative. Additionally, she was not offered a seat or waiting area to recover. This shows negligence and poor patient care. I would not recommend anyone visiting this clinic for colonoscopy.

On the plus side, she does seem to get things done if something needs to be communicated to Dr Fung. However she does often makes you (along with everyone else in the waiting room) fully aware of what an imposition it is for her to do so, and quite loudly. As someone with a newly diagnosed chronic disease of a serious nature, alongside the stresses that come with it, I definitely hit an impasse with her when she tore me a new one for some administrative confusion. I can't deal anymore with her mood swings--whether my next call will be answered by Jekyll or Hyde. I made my appointment via zocdoc and the clinic subsequently called me to confirm and get my insurance information. Check in was a breeze and the waiting time wasn't too bad. I got all the routine checkups and met with Dr. Liu. She's seems extremely knowledgeable and cares about her patients. She listens to you if you have any questions or concerns. I didn't feel like she was trying to rush through the appointment like how I've felt at other doctor visits before. They set you up with a patient portal where you can create an account and log in to see your lab results. This is the first time I'm experiencing the use of such technology at a clinic and needless to say, I'm very impressed. For the followup, I was given the option of an in person visit or a virtual visit and I chose the latter so I won't have to deal with the busy streets of flushing and the headache of traffic and parking in the area. You aren't given a specific time for the virtual visit, but just a range of a few hours, since the doctor calls you when she has time in between patients. I wish that the virtual visits were more coordinated, but other than that, overall I had a positive experience.

After surgery, when I could barely walk, I needed a referral for a GI specialist. His staff member, Susan, insisted I come into the office even though my insurance confirmed it wasn't required. The doctor even said it was "not a big deal" to lose a gallbladder. Two months later, I was hospitalized again due to leftover gallstones. The hospital told me they contacted Chun Kit's office for a referral, but his staff claimed I hadn't been seen in over a year, which was completely untrue.
