Well, not a problem for Richie, as he sent someone out to take measurements that very week. It turns out that after gathering a few estimates from several well known shutter companies, SBH had the best price and the best quality product, no question about it. They're a great company that offers a top notch, high quality product, quality workmanship at a reasonable price, a variety of design and color choices, what's not to like? I called Shutters by Hanns in Yucaipa to ask for an in-home estimate. The woman who answered told me to give her the measurements and they could give me an instant quote. I didn't have them at the time, so I called a few days later during working hours and my call went to voicemail. I left a detailed message and now several days later, I still have not received a returned call. Oh well. We went with another recommended company who was responsive, friendly and brought samples to our home while they did the measurements. Guess they don't need another customer willing to spend $6,000. read more

Contacted them from a referral of a neighbor.....called, Susie asked for dimensions of windows which I gave here...she called back within an hour with a quote which I thought was high. Told me they could measure at my condo, produce, and install within a two week period since I was only in town for that long. Within that day, Richard was here to measure, gave me the same quote, took my deposit. Within 10 days they came, installed the shutters, and instructed me how to open-close etc. Susie, Richie (who explained their process and sent a person to measure the same day) and Richard who not only measured but then installed them ( within 2 1/2 hours ) were all very professional, courteous, and helpful. Today, we had seven shutters installed in five rooms. Very efficient process; two weeks from in house measurement to install. Very satisfied with results. I am a stickler for high quality work and craftsmanship, so I visited the store in Redlands and watched the craftsmen (and women) create the shutters from solid wood on site. Shutters are hand sanded and paint is air brushed with no streaks or runs. Front office employee Susie is amazing and installers were very professional and knowledgeable, Richie is a good guy also. I was impressed with the installers Jesus and Ruben. Jesus explained he has more than 25 years experience in the shutter business. His knowledge and experience helped my wife and I choose the perfect shutters (i.e., four panel vs. two panel, etc.) for each window. Prices are fair and quality is excellent. Richie Burnett came to my house to fix two sets of shutters that my puppy decided to have for dinner. I had received other quotes that were way to much to fix. I even had one guy come out and give him a 100 dollar deposit for him to come back and say he could not fix it. Not the case with Richie. After Empire Today and E&J shutters came over to give us an estimate for the home, we decided that custom shutters were way out of our budget for our new home. At least, that was the case until we met James at our doorsteps. He was very kind and courteous and asked if he could give me an estimate for the shutters. I showed him the curtain rods I had laying on the floor in front of each window and said that we practically made up our minds about custom shutters already. He asked if I didn't mind him checking out the windows and give me a quote. So, I thought...why not? He took some measurements around the house and was calculating and recalculating the costs for us.
