BEST Thai food I've Ever had!! Really!! The Excellent Servers & Staff worked so well together bringing each dish to us quickly & Hot.. The Asparagus Avocado Salad was something I've never experienced before & should have ordered another one (or two) for the ride home... The Spring Rolls w/ Shrimp were so yummy along w/ their two tasty sauces.. Oh My Gosh the Honey Pork Ribs--let's just say--they'll put to shame anyone who brags about their ribs... The Pumpkin Curry was Beyond Spectacular... My all time Favorite Thai food is Shrimp Tom Kha Soup & this was the Best I've Ever had!! The Pad Thai was simply Amazing.. The Fried rice was Outstanding & the cute rice "flower & heart" servings are a sweet touch.. I found myself chewing faster than usual--so I could serve myself more food before my husband could do it first... Thank goodness for those big servings!! The food and service here are great. Being vegetarian, this place has MANY options. My favorites include all of the curry's. There is indoor/outdoor seating and the tables outside are large wooden swing-like tables. The service is fast and getting take out never exceeds more than a 15 minute wait. The food at Siam Elephant was excellent and exceptional the first time. The second time it was also excellent and exceptional as the four of us were eating until half way through the Pad Woon Sen when someone mentioned what is that? As I picked it up we thought it was just a piece of burnt pepper however upon futher inspection we noticed it had legs attached to it. Well that kind of ruined our appetite and ended dinner. Unfortunately, we were camping and by the time we finished cleaning up, the resturant was closed. The next morning we stopped by before leaving to talk with the management but they were not open. As discusting as this experience was it may have been a fluke but we still can't get this out of our thoughts. Maybe the health inspector needs to visit. This will be my next effort is to contact the health inspector and see if they can identify any issues. I think it is only prudent on my part to follow with the health services in the Carpinteria area to help others not have to deal with the same problem that we did. Good luck to those that still want to eat their food. I guess you could look at it as protein but not my type of protein if you know what I mean! read more

Yummy food! My boyfriend and I really enjoyed this restaurant. I highly suggest the Fresh Rolls! We had their dinner special and pad thai to share and fresh rolls as an appetizer. The staff here was very friendly and helpful when we described the type of food we were craving (we aren't Thai food experts but loved a Thai place by our old apartment). Great food! Placed a take out order for 3 dinner specials, we were all happy with our entree items and loved the included soup. Also, I required a gluten free option and the man who took our order was so helpful in pointing out which meals could be made gluten free and also swapped the included fried appetizer for a salad that I could have instead. Cute little Thai restaurant. The combo specials are really nice way to try a few things on the menu. Tom kha soup is some of the best Thai soup I have ever had! Was the highlight of the meal for me. My boyfriend and I stumbled into this place because it was the only place in Carpenteria opened past 9pm on a Tuesday. We were so pleasantly surprised. First of all the service was amazing, such nice and attentive waiters. And then the food was so delicious. Beef prik king is absolutely delicious!!! I will be back when I am in the area. Perfectly cooked green beans and beef. Loved the balanced flavors and amount of spicyness. If you don't like spicy probably you will not like it. GREAT SERVICE and love the menu variety. Combo dinner for $15 gives you slightly less food so if you are going to share with people I suggest the ala cart entrees. Spring rolls are good and the shrimp is ok could be better. I seriously cannot get enough of the pumpkin curry!!! I usually am 'anti' all the annual pumpkin fads - but this dish is seriously addicting! I love that I can walk downtown, order from the friendliest restauranteurs in town, bring my pup right up and in the time it takes to walk to the beach & back I'm on my way home w the perfect dinner. For me, Thai food is the reflection of Thailand's people...earthy. Second time to Siam we will not go back. The food, witch was cooked well and with heart, was doused with sugar. The delicate flavors of lemongrass, bamboo, lime and even curry took on a candy like flavor. I wanted dinner but received dessert. What up set me most was we asked if the curry had sugar and the waiter said "no". The curry was a bowl of sugar, the seafood soup was a bowl of sugar. To the horrible dismay of my demanding tastebuds a malignant taste and texture was encountered. We got seated and waited 20min before they came to take our drink order (and by that time we were ready to order our food and parched), then we really didn't see the waiter again until we were served our food all at once (screw the appetizers we were supposed to get). The flavor of the food was good and different all around, but for the plate of cashew chicken... It was lacking the chicken. And the chili fried rice with pork... Didn't really have pork. We called ahead to ask for a patio table. Our mini poodle was crazy about the satay although there was no peanut sauce. Very pleasant patio, friendly, helpful staff. Quick service. Staff seemed a little intimidated by our 17 pound dog and seemed surprised that we ordered food for her but we enjoyed our dinners. The Pad Thai was very tasty with a lot of chicken. We didn't go Inside so I can't speak to the decor or restrooms but the restaurant and patio got so busy that they were setting up extra tables. We had been seated at an elevated gazebo/carved wooden booth in the center of the patio, very much on display, which suited my showy poodle perfectly. It's a fairly average Thai place compared to what I've had before, but if I lived in Carp I'd eat here again. Real Thai food and they'll make it spicy if you ask for it pet pet. I really like both their soups. The curries have excellent flavor but they can seem runny if you're not used to Thai curries.
