We've been long time Minami fans! I remember coming into Minami's when my daughter was a little girl and the food was good, even then. It was one of her favorite places to eat. I think there may be new owners, but nothing has changed. My daughter is not little anymore and visiting from DC, so she begged us to eat at Minami's on the way to PDX, for her trip back to the concrete jungle! The teriyaki is still delicious and the portions are generous! The plates come with a delicious, crunchy iceberg lettuce salad with a scrumptious mayo based dressing. We also got a cup of miso soup. The teriyaki is not overpowering or overwhelming, and the grilled flavor of the chicken is spot on. My husband got the almond chicken and sweet & sour chicken combo. He asked for fried rice with his combo, but they goofed and gave him white rice. They fixed the mistake with a huge plate of fried rice! That made my husband happy! It was hot and chock full of good stuff! That'll be dinner tonight! *Note: some photos were taken after we dug in, so the portion size is a lot less on the sweet and sour plate! First time at Minami and was very surprised by the amount of food, the flavor and how fast they were. Service was quick and friendly. The restaurant is definitely dated but comfortable. It's small with only about 8-10 tables. Parking lot is a little small, and was hard to get to from main roads. I can tell it's a staple here in Longview and I'm sure I'll be back. read more

We usually order for delivery due to health issues and the delivery time from start to finish is fast, the meal is hot, and it's packaged extremely well! Wow,I haven't had teriyaki this good in 25+ years, not since Bellevue and this Lil hole in the wall next to Video Only. Their teriyaki was amazing and so was the Garlic chicken ... I know the Beef and Chicken teriyaki here was some of the best I've ever had, we live at the Beach (Long Beach, Wa) we will be back here for more deliciousness The drive thru was great and so was the friendly service. I have been a loyal customer for more than 5 years and the quality of service and food has been consistent ever since! All of their meat is prepared freshly so they are always so tender and juicy! Staffs are always nice and greeting with smiles. And they have been improving their atmosphere over time to make the place clean and nice for dining. Best teriyaki in town! read more

Being from another state with many excellent Japanese restaurants, I tried this place with an open mind. For Longview, I think it's my top choice. The lunch plate of chicken teriaki is good, cooked properly, and you are given plenty of chicken and rice. Yes, prices are high, but many other restaurants in Longview are charging shamefully high prices for mediocre food-taking full advantage of unsteady economy, so I am ok with prices here. Service for lunch is quick and efficient. I look forward to tryfing other dishes. read more

Use to love this place but not with these prices nor customers service. I ordered 2 chicken teriyaki and the total was $20.50 The amount of food you get is insane! It will definitely last two meals. You get a little side salad with dressing, rice, and a bunch of chicken with an extra container of teriyaki sauce if you want it saucier. The chicken was very well cooked, not dry and it even had the little charred bits that is quintessential for the classic teriyaki taste that is impossible to recreate at home. I would highly suggest eating somewhere else unless you want to be sick. We use to love this place. The last two times have been very disappointing and after today we will never eat there again. Last time there was something wrong with their sauce. My son, husband, and i all ended up sick and it tasted real funny. We have eaten there lots of times and figured maybe it was an off day so we got lunch today. Big mistake. I found a fingernail in my teriyaki beef after i had eaten about half the meal.
