Twice-Cooked Pork Lunch, Fish with Chili Bean Sauce Lunch, Noodles
    Dorothy X.

I brought my mom here for lunch on a Friday around 1:00pm. There were two other parties inside, and plenty of seating available. We planned to order off of their lunch menu, and split a bowl of noodles for her birthday. Chinese tradition is to eat noodles on birthdays, so we asked the server what she recommended. She told us they actually offer complimentary birthday noodles! We were so surprised; we'd never heard of anywhere doing that before. We ordered the Twice-Cooked Pork Lunch, Fish with Chili Bean Sauce Lunch, and the Birthday Noodles. With lunch, we were allowed to select an egg roll, egg drop soup, or hot and sour soup. We both opted for the hot and sour soup. Even without the complimentary noodles, this meal was incredibly well-priced at $10.99 per lunch special. High quality dishes with plenty of meat and fresh vegetables. The noodles were simple but larger than expected, well-cooked, and delicious. My mom raved about this place. She hasn't had quality Chinese food at that price in a long time, and is telling all of our family members that we should go back when they're in town. It wasn't very busy, but we hope it was just the weather. Hopefully lots of people are supporting them! We can't wait to go back.

This place was sooo good. I ordered to-go and when I got back to my hotel, the food was still piping hot- I walked too... The chili oil wontons were good. My only complaint was that my to-go order took nearly 30 mins for those 2 items and the restaurant only had 2 or 3 tables. I forgot what they said the reason was? It may have been them having to make chili oil and waiting for it to cool down? The Dan Dan noodles were perfect and had the nice nutty taste you'd expect. I came back the next day with some friends and was even more impressed with the items we ordered. Fried fish with dry chili was the best. So good. We also tried the orange beef and kung pao chicken. Bother were also good. Ambiance seemed modern and great to have a conversation w friends. Clean restrooms and booths. Would definitely come back!

Authentic Sichuan food right across from University of Cincinnati! Modern, clean, and spacious. Food was delicious and nutritious. We ordered bunch of dishes: Beef and Tripe Medley, Twice-cooked pork, Green Sichuan peppercorn Fish, Beef fried rice, and Noodles with beef Brisket. Beef fried rice was surprisingly good! Kids love it! Service was great and prompt. Definitely recommend!

Got takeout from here! Originally wanted Kungfood but they were closed. I can't say this is the best chinese food i've had, but the takeout process was very simple. Hot and sour soup was just okay. The chicken was kind of squishy. needed more sauce. Not a bad option in a pinch. Was packaged well for takeout and offered me chopsticks and forks.

This is our takeout meal from Chinese New year 2025. Dry Hot pot, Sichuan Cold Noods, Dan Dan Noodles, Pork Eggplant, Garlic Shredded pork.

Sichuan Palace is by far the best and most authentic Sichuan Cuisine in Cincinnati! I lived in Sichuan/Chongqing for over 4 years for reference. My family and I have visited Sichuan Palace or ordered takeout no less than 50 times. The quality of ingredients and execution of dishes is unmatched. I highly recommend the Sichuan Style Kung Pao Chicken (Not the Americanized version), the dry hot pot, Dan Dan Noodles, Sichuan Cold Noodles and more. I love this restaurant, the staff and the consistent Sichuan food it provides.

Redirected to this place after my other choice was not open, I found it busier than expected, and I was virtually the only non-Mandarin speaker there. (Well, I remember a few phrases from taking the language in college). Anyway, that's usually a good sign. My ma po tofu arrived looking much like at the hole in the wall place where I first had the "real" version of this dish, which is properly flavored with a fermented broad bean paste (doubanjiang) and an astringent Sichuan peppercorn that makes the mouth slightly numb. It was tasty stuff; a bit unsettlingly so, but that's kind of the point. So salty, so oily, extreme in flavor. My iced tea washed it down well enough. There wasn't an enormous vegetarian section and it wasn't cheap for what I got, but it was a proper version of a dish I wasn't sure I'd find in this location.

    Orange Chicken Dinner

Very great food, and equally as awesome customer service. Orange chicken was delicious! The young man and woman serving were very friendly and attentive. Who I believe is an owner even came to the table and asked my thoughts on the orange chicken I had, and for any improvements I could think of. I admire a business looking to improve and for feedback. That's why I say 5 stars!

Black Pepper Beef Specialty Cuisine Dinner Kung Pao Chicken Dinner Fried Rice Sichuan Dumplings with Chili Oil Dinner

In a quest to find the best Chinese in the city, Sichuan Palace makes their case but I will keep searching. The Kung Pao Chicken was the highlight. If you are like me and my gf and get grossed out by large/uneven looking chicken then here is your sign to get this because the chicken is small and delicious. The sauce is sweet and fairs well with the fried rice. The Peppered Beef was decent. It doesn't pack a ton of flavor, it was more so just to have a variety of meats on the table. I found myself chewing for long periods of time, but I didn't mind. The dumplings were solid but were carried by the Chilli Oil. They sell that stuff by the container. It's hot, it's spicy, and I'm sure they sell a lot of it. The fried rice was okay, pretty bland. Overall Sichuan Palace is good, but it's not great. Scratch that, it's great but it's not $60 Dinner for 2 great. I think this is an excellent spot for a group dinner where you order a few shareable options for the table. But for some reason Cheap Chinese Takeout that only comes in pale containers will always be the way to go. If you are in the area check this place out, but if you are ordering takeout try something else.

Spicy string beans $14 is RIDICULOUS

CULTURE AT ITS FINEST! Such amazing food! Everything is hot & fresh all the time! Servers are nice! The place is clean but they're struggling big time with nats. Supper annoying flying around our food. $14 for string beans...NOT COOL!

Girls night in! I love the texture of the mung bean noodle- strong szechuan flavor. My personal favorite that I always get are the green beans - I could probably eat them every day. I don't remember much about the lamb dish we got but it definitely has a kick. We got it to go and it came neatly packaged in individual sturdy containers. No leakage Side note: I also recommend the garlic white meat appetizer (sounds weird but so so tasty) and their cold szechuan noodles (which I've tried on different occasions). The clay pot beef had a mix of really tender pieces of meat but some were very tough and dry. Also warning - the Dan Dan is spicy! But so good. Definitely a place to get your authentic Chinese food cravings satisfied! Service is kind and very very fast

The gentleman asked if we had reservations. We did not. He simply said, "Then we'll have three more guests for the evening" or something along those lines. He was very kind. Before our friend arrived, a woman stopped by to welcome us. Top notch service so far! The ambiance is beautiful. The lighted tree and decor behind us was a lot, but it felt tasteful. Jack, our server, stopped by to get us water. When our friend arrived we had a lot to talk about. Jack stopped by several times and was very chill about us taking our time. He said he didn't mind if we still weren't ready and he'd return to check on us as often as necessary. Again, kindness and patience abound at Oriental Wok. The Ma La Dumplings were absolutely delicious. The filling was delicious and the spice level, which we knew would be spicy, was perfect. Truly a wonderful bite. I had Five-Spice Tofu. The tofu was crispy as advertised and the greens were in a very light and delectable sauce. Green onions were sprinkled with the greens. I feel sometimes greens like these are an afterthought at many restaurants. At Oriental Wok they were as much a star as the crispy tofu. Mark had Orange Chicken and thoroughly enjoyed it. He mentioned the orange flavor was perfect. Either Jack asked if we wanted dessert and I missed it or he didn't ask. Our friend thought maybe he did and she said no, but she couldn't be sure. I just remember him stopping by to ask if we needed boxes. Anyway, next thing I knew we had our checks. I really wanted dessert, but I took it as a sign it was time for us to wrap up. I'm absolutely certain he would have been more than happy to bring us some dessert and update our checks, so going without was on me and that's cool. I think it's safe to say we will be back!
