Hidden gem, love this place. Genuinely last of its kind. Small family owned and cheap.

I wanted to love this place as soon as I walked in and confirmed it was a buffet lunch. In the end, the food was just okay. Our server was very kind and stealthily quick about removing plates during periods of refill. The place seemed clean enough, but the bathrooms weren't great. My first piece of fried chicken (leg), though it looked dry, was quite tender and tasty. My second piece was much more dry. The spring rolls (vegetarian) were very good. The egg rolls were weird and dry. The roll seemed thick, like a vein with its walls covered with plaque. The ingredients inside the roll didn't reveal themselves. It just wasn't good. I tried small bits of the entrees. Everything was generally tasty, but nondescript. The orange cake dessert thing was delicious. The price can't be beat. $12.99 for the lunch buffet does seem like a steal. Sorry, no pics. read more

I always order hot & sour soup. This is the first time I get a vinegary and sweet soup. For a Szechuan dish, the soup is made of brown sugar and vinegar. For the Mongolian beef, they did not even velvet it to make it soft. This soup and a bland Mongolian beef is worth $35.98 via Grubhub. I would have been happier eating a $1 ramen noodle from WalMart. read more

Spouse and I are lunch buffet regulars but we were first-time Christmas Day dinner buffet attendees, and I was amazed and extremely satisfied at the freshness and variety of the food offerings, as well as the service when the place was so incredibly busy. The restaurant premises are aging but always clean, the employees always friendly and efficient. Spouse does not eat pork, fish or seafood but there are sufficient chicken and vegetable choices, including wonderful eggplant Christmas Day.. And the price is incredibly reasonable. I found the lunch buffet to be below average. To begin with all of the dishes I had were definitely not hot, but on the side of room temperature? The eggrolls were disappointing as they're filled with a minced meat, maybe chicken? I don't think it was pork. The spring roll was slightly better. Everything from the beans, noodle dishes, chicken, and beef dishes were warm at best. This is a lunch buffet I would not return to. read more

One of the features of Yelp that I love most is the ability to find examples of a certain type of food in a few different areas. Example: we're far from home. Yelp find me Szechuan food between Columbus and Blue Ash. I check out everything in south Columbus then redirect the search and decide on the Szechuan House on Lebanon road. Before you know it we're being seated. A very polite woman handled us from greet to fortune cookies. We were in time for their early bird, but it's really just a smaller portion for a lesser price. My beef lo mein came out timely but stone cold. The waitress wasted no time reheating it. Actually, the place was empty, so it wasn't much of a challenge. It was still greasy and without flavour, but warm. The same with the fried rice. The egg roll had a funny texture, like that of a cream cheese rangoon. It tasted just fine. Just a bit weird to bite into. The wonton had the smallest dumplings I've seen, but, it too was great tasting. The hot tea was bland as was the orange chicken. In the end we had to remind the nice lady that we ordered the special (since it was before 6:30pm). She adjusted the bill and we were off. In the future this will work in a pinch. Came in around 1:50pm and there was hardly any food left. At 2:08pm I ask the server are they bringing anymore food out and she say no because they close at 2:30. The door & online says they close at 10:30pm but had I known they would close at 2:30 I would of never came in & even tho there was no food they still charged us full price read more

I came to this based on the ratings, and on Christmas Day. My family of 3 paid 76.00 for the buffet, and it was extremely disappointing. Though we only order Chinese 2-3 times a year, this is our go to place, we have always preferred take out over the buffet, unfortunately while the flavors were still there on some of our beloved dishes we were quite disappointed with things overall. We understand the cost everywhere has increased on everything. But an additional $2.50 to have fried rice instead of white rice and $3.95 for lomein- which we are always willing to pay but the rice includes no veggies at all I feel like the increase in cost and the decrease in quality of what you get does not match. The $12 order of chicken fried rice also includes no peas or carrots it's just fried rice with a few pieces of chicken that are hard to find. Our cream cheese puffs were not in the bag when we got home- and as we always order on Christmas eve or new years eve- we are usually too crunched on time to be able to drive back for missing items, they did add a complimentary box of chinese donuts as we are very used to when we order such a large order as we are usually feeding 7+ people when we order. I will always prefer the flavors here, but really have to consider the quality now for what we are paying and possibly re-evaluate if we need a new place.... The service is usually great and have never had a missing item before this visit. read more

Went for lunch after seeing some Yelp reviews!! Stay away from this place. Nothing on the buffet is hot. This is a breeding ground for food poisoning. I will be calling the health department after this visit. I took three bites of three separate items and all were room temp! Even the egg drop soup. I really wanted to like this place because it's convenient to our home but I just can't recommend this place. Maybe they will turn up the heat on their buffet! read more

Don't go here if you are a black person. We got charged extra money for a services charge and I ask what it was for and she said her tip. I asked if the other people who was not of color get charged that and she said no and I asked why are we and she said because she didn't think I was going to leave her a tip. this is discrimination towards black people. I'm always going in there spending my money and we get treated like this. I won't be spending anymore money with them ever again. Full disclosure up front: I have only been inside Szechuan House once since Covid, and that was to pick up a carry-out order. Other than that, I get delivery through DoorDash or the restaurant's own delivery on weekends. That said, their food is great! I love their Shrimp Pad Thai - a nice moderate level of spice, but it won't set your tongue on fire. Excellent flavors. Same for their Coconut Curry Chicken - plenty of flavor, and enough heat to make it interesting without calling the fire department. The Combination Egg Foo Young and Moo Goo Gai Pan are good choices, and their Spring Rolls and Shrimp Toast make for nice appetizers. Don't forget the Egg Drop Soup, and finish it all off with Chinese Donuts or the Cream Cheese Puffs (Pro Tip: Get some sweet and sour sauce for dipping.) read more

This is probably the best Chinese buffet I have ever eaten! The quality of the food here is as if they just made it and brought it out to the table. The spices are fantastic and everything I ate was phenomenal! I highly recommend this place if near Sharonville Ohio. Went for the lunch buffet on a Friday, I thought the food was unremarkable. The Szechuan green beans were quite good and the egg rolls were interesting (very peppery), but most of the dishes were bland. If you're looking for cheap, all-you-can-eat Chinese, the Szechuan House buffet is not bad. I'll start by saying that this is not one of your billion+ item buffet places. When I first walked in, my initial thought was, is there another room. Nope, the lunch buffet consists of one dual sided hot bar and two small cold sections. Saying that, I was surprised at the quality of what was on them. It's not a massive selection, but what they do have, they do quite well. The only thing that honestly was a disappointment were the egg rolls. They were just, odd. Very peppery and didn't taste like your normal egg roll. Not to say they were bad, just not what you would expect. Pros: Fried rice and noodles were well cooked but not overcooked. Chicken options all looked and tasted like white meat. A+ Corn nuggets were just awesome. Cream cheese puffs, oh yes. Cons: Fried rice and noodles are plain. No veggies or anything. Sweet tea could be a little less sweet, a little more tea. Sauce options would not go unnoticed. Fish in the aquarium look like they need a friend. All in all, I was surprised as to how good the food was for the price tag. I guess I shouldn't really be shocked that as buffets add more and more to their lineup, item quality starts to suffer. Will go back soon and see how the dinner buffet varies from the lunch buffet. Give them a shot and say hi to the fish before you leave. read more

The ambiance is a little off, very bright lighting, no atmosphere. I sat on the bench in our booth and hit a very uncomfortable spring, no other booths available so had no option but to try avoid hitting it every time I got up to get food. The flavors on the buffet were so weird, hot and sour soup tasted like some kind of over sweetened chicken broth, it was terrible. The dishes were very, very average, the best thing on the Chinese Buffet was the tiramisu dessert !!!!. Would not go back at all, very disappointing. read more
