Good: The people are knowledgeable, the tailoring is excellent. In-house shirts are nice. They have Alden shoes. Make clear that you want adult American prep and not dork-cum-Hollywood neoprep, and they will take good care of you. Bad: As noted above, a bit dork-chic. You can come out looking like a tool if you're not careful. Sid looks like a tool in his "flood" trousers. Doesn't realize it. Conclusion: A very good store, a bit nouveau. Stay with the in-house bespoke, stay clear of neoprep Eurocuts. Be firm with the tailors and salespeople and you'll be in good hands. read more

I have been waiting so long for this store to open. Ann is (I gather) the wife of Sid Mashburn, owner of the eponymous store next door, and though I don't have the same taste, I love the way Sid Mashburn is so curated and edited and so clearly driven by the inspiration board in the store. So it's no surprise that Ann Mashburn is similarly well-curated. The new store sells clothes and accessories that are similar in vibe to the men's clothes at Sid's: tailored southern-ish classics with a teeny bit of an edge. The clothes have a great minimalist thing going on, but they are a little too preppy for my taste. The jewelry, shoes, and other accessories are simply amazing. You may not find something for you, but the selection and the space are so well edited you'll feel like you're in a New York boutique (a feeling amplified by the beautiful shop girls with zero interest in helping you who are whispering conspiratorially over the counter while you browse). read more

I went to Sid Mashburn yesterday. First and foremost I was looking pretty raggedy. I was suppose to volunteer to help put mulch down at my daughter school and once they said they no longer needed the help I said well that will give me time to at the very least get more shopping done while she was at school. I wanted to find a nice bowtie and pocket square for a friend of mine. As I walked into the store three women were standing in a cluster. They all looked at me up and down and proceeded to roll their eyes like some movie from mean girls. Another one finally spoke to me and asked me what I was looking for and needed help with. I advised her that I was looking for items for men and she directed me to go to the back. Once I was in the back I walked around looking and people looked at me but refused to help me. Even when they were not helping anyone they still did not knowledge me I guess because I did not look like everyone else. I finally was sick of being passed over and I asked someone to help me and they only person that finally spoke to me was a black guy and a white guy showed me where the pocket squares were. They were not the colors I wanted and they did not have a lot of variety in terms of the bowties so I decided to leave. It is so sad to be treated like you don't matter in a store because of the way you look or how you are dressed like you will not buy anything so why even speak to me. As I was leaving I wanted to speak to a manager and let them know how devalued as a customer I felt from the time I walked in the door. Since I live in West Midtown I always want to keep my dollar circulating n in this area no matter what. So I will take my money to Thomas Wages a few doors down. Oh and here is the kicker as I was leaving the ladies did not event want to say have a great day. It was done in more as as an obligation. I remember the old Gilbert store that use to be here. I ordered online, purchasing a sale item, so it's not like Sid Mashburn is making a big margin on the sale. The order went through in the early afternoon and I asked whether it could be shipped the same day (didn't pay for shipping either). Never expected it would happen but received a shipment confirmation email the same day. Also called in prior to purchase to inquire about sizing and color and the person I spoke with couldn't have been more helpful. These guys get it, and get it right...quality fabrics, outstanding tailoring, delivery of product that lasts and lasts...my boyfriend needed 'retooling' of suits, pants, and some great basics...he couldn't be more pleased, and happy every time he wears one of the pieces he bought at Sid's. I don't know why this place has such a great reputation. I came here looking for jeans and the sales associate recommended a pair of APC New Standard Jeans. He told me to get they should be very tight so they will mold to my body when they break in. Normally I wear a 33" waist, so he suggested I try on a 30". When I put them on he asked me how tight they felt on a scale from 1 to 10. I put them at an 8 out of 10 - I was really uncomfortable. 8 wasn't high enough for him so he gave me a 29". These I ranked at an 11 out of 10 - they were so tight I could barely bend my knees. The salesman said this was perfect, so I trusted his opinion and bought them. I spent a lot of time and effort trying to break these in, but eventually I realized that it was just not possible for the denim to stretch that much. Looking back on the situation I can see that I was a complete idiot for trusting that guy - there's no way sizing down 4 sizes makes sense. It would be one thing if the employee didn't guide me to the right product for me, but this guy actually guided me to something that was the wrong product for me. It seems like Sid Mashburn has some decent products, but with employees like this what does it matter? read more

I went here to buy my wedding suit and was blown away. Nathan helped me and my fiancé run through the different options, offered guidance when necessary, and made sure we left with a suit I looked fantastic in. The thing I appreciated the most was how well thought out and intentional the store is. You won't find a huge volume of "stuff" to buy; only things that serve a specific purpose and have top notch design. The salesmen take their jobs very seriously. They can explain everything from fabric and fit to how textiles are produced. Their attitude is also extremely unpretentious. They want to show you around and share their passion with you so you get what you want. The clothes are built to last and will last for years (well worth the cost). In a day and age where many men's clothes stores are staffed by salesmen wearing ill-fitting suits with little knowledge of what they are selling, Sid Mashburn is an oasis of taste, competence and style. read more

They are very helpful and professional, and they care about your comfort.Sid has a very good range of shirts, cardigans, pants, shoes, etc, from smart casual to formal. They have excellent jackets, the prices can go from $700 to $ 4500 and they are worth every penny, supreme quality. They have their own tailors. I can guarantee that there is at least something for anyone who walks in this store if you like classics and are a bit conservative. I love classics, but would not define myself as conservative. I saw a few pieces I liked and consider as go to pieces if I had purchased them. For the selection and quality I give 5 stars. Now the customer service on the other hand was not impressive to me at all. While I may be somewhat bias as I work in a customer service driven position, I would think that a boutique like this would have people on their front line who are welcoming and who show interest in you as a potential customer. Instead I received a half-hearted welcome from the red haired women who was working. Mind you there were at most 3 other people in the shop. I was never asked if I needed assistance and she actually looked bothered when I asked for a dressing room. When I walked out of the dressing room, she never asked how things worked and additionally, she didn't bother to offer to take from me the items I tried on. She let me hang them back on the racks myself. I was so insensed that I left not having purchased the two items I wanted. I know that this was not the owner as I asked upon leaving. And by the way, I have shopped a handful of times in Sid Mashburn's shop where one would think a women might not get the same attention as a gentleman. Quite the opposite in fact. I was greeted, asked if I could be helped and periodically checked in on. Because of that I have been back. It is a great place for gifts for special men in your life. It is kind of disappointing to me that I have such a bad taste from Ann's shop. I am going to try to not let my bad experience effect my perception of Sid's place but it's hard not to acknowlege that my $ is going to the same place regardless of which location I am a patron of. read more

so. the retail environment was amazing. the suits were beautiful. I walked in with the intention of getting fitted for a suit and a couple of custom shirts. then I waited 45 minutes to be helped in an empty store. I played dumb to my size and was looking for advice on what would look best on me and was actually scoffed at. after selecting a couple of higher end jackets to try on, the salesperson finally started to come around to the fact that I was(keyword) legitimately interested. my only suggestion, wear clothing you've purchased from Sid Mashburn to the store if you wanted to be treated well. sorry guys. Absolutely horrible experience. I ordered a custom suit from SM and was guaranteed it would arrive no later than six weeks from the order date. Eight weeks later, I heard five different excuses on why it had not yet arrived, ranging from it was stuck in customs in Italy, to the suit was lost or stolen. Then suddenly, the suit mysteriously arrives from Europe, even though two days before it was still considered stolen. During the whole debacle, I was given at least four different guaranteed delivery dates, none of which were met. I was also told that the final alterations could be made the same day that the suit arrived. Yet, when it finally arrived, I was told it would be three days to complete the alterations - even though the suit was two weeks late, and the entire staff knew that I needed the suit for a business trip immediately. Needless to say, after all of the excuses, unaccountability, complacency, and shadiness, I opted to take my business elsewhere and never picked up the suit. The worst part may be that no one there seemed to mind that they missed a sale for a few thousand dollars, as well as all of my future business. I will never set foot back in that store again. If any of my friends ever ask me to be in their wedding, and they get their tuxedos from Sid Mashburn, I will not only refuse to be in the wedding, I may have to defriend them for even considering doing any business at this store. The store has never been unclean while I visit and I know that anything I purchase here will have a high sense of quality. It seems like every men's specialty store in Atlanta is so stuffy, high brow, and just plain old-geezery. I had been avoiding going to Mashburn, under the assumption it was the same vibe as other certain Brothers or mens "Stock"ists in Atlanta. I was pleasantly surprised to find a very relaxed vibe in the store, nobody made me feel out of place for my (relatively young) age, and the service was just the right amount of helpful but not pushy or condescending. Found some really great shorts that seem to fill a void where other brands are either too skinny, too long, too baggy, too frumpy, etc. Will definitely be returning. read more

I have heard so many excues on why it has not arrived, ranging from it was stuck in customs, first Italy then South America. The factory was close for two weeks. I'm fairly new to Sid Mashburn, but I can tell you without doubt this place stays within its wheelhouse and kills it with their style. I did a little research on the place and decided to visit the store and see what they had to offer in tailored suits. Donnie showed me around the place and was extremely knowledgeable and honest about their clothing and what would look best on me. The salespeople and the tailors working during my visits were both courteous and attentive, and when I returned to pick up my new tailored threads it was like I was just there the day before. We picked up conversation where we left off, all while working through checking out the new suit and trying on potential future clothing. The staff here knows their stuff and made me feel at home even though boutique clothing shops are something of a foreign experience for me. As for the suit, I couldn't be happier. I recently wore it for the first time and received several complements... another experience that I'm not so familiar with. Sid Mashburn employees are top notch, as is the clothing. Poor customer service. I'm sure other people receive top of the line attention, but unless you come in reeking of money, you'll get icy treatment. In my case, I'm in my early twenties and have saved up a long time for a Sid Mashburn suit. I finally was able to afford it when I got my tax return in. I wanted to wear it during interviews I have coming up. I don't have top of the line clothes to begin with, which I suppose they noticed. So it felt nearly impossible to get any help with a suit. All the while I see other people (wearing suits already) getting treated like royalty. When I finally did get assistance, the salesman was always quick to point out the price of the suit, and kept asking pointed questions about what I do and the like. Like he was trying to find out how much money I make, to see if I was serious about buying or just wasting his time. Really made me feel judged. Then at one point I noticed a seamster looking at me, and he kind of sneered at me in a very pointed and obviously deliberate way. I felt like a leper and ended up not buying a suit.
