If you are looking for a fun environment to play pool, then I would highly recommend coming here. There are always lots of people here and the vibe is pretty upbeat. It also does not reek of smoke, which is a huge plus! There is usually a pool table open or someone about to be done. For only 50 cents per pool game you can hangout here for hours. I liked Side Pockets when I finally figured out where it was. Our Chiefs group met there for a watch party. And the food was phenomenal. The service? Not the greatest. She was confused, and some of us were charged, 2 times, not that we paid twice, I'm just saying. Some didn't get their food. Side Pockets should've had 2 people helping out. The food? it was was really good. I saw the tenderloin sandwich and I wish I had ordered one. Next time I will. The bar has over 29 T.V.s. They had us set up with 2 huge t.v. screens. The bad thing is the smoke, which I'm lowering it a star. I can't stand cigarette smoke, it bothers my sinuses. ...I supposed if I became a smoker,I'd think differently. This morning my hair smells like smoke, my skin smells like smoke. Per choice, I'd probably not return cause of the smoke. We got scammed. I was given $20 to spend here at Sidepockets through a loyalty program put on by my apartment complex. I already know these loyalty programs are a scam but I called ahead and tried to find out all the in's and out's of using these vouchers from restaurants.com. I'm disabled and asked if these coupons could be used for a delivery order and was told they were for dine in only. I get how that makes the restaurant look better by having more butts in the seats but fine, I decided to bring a friend and we went there in person. The in-person menu was more expensive than the one I found online. So we proceed to spend about $20 at this restaurant on a sampler platter of very basic greasy food. Frankly, I've had better at IHOP and I can make greasy food and listen to too loud 80's music at home. Our server reeked of 3 day old cigarettes and our food tasted like cigarettes too. Then we check our bill and they've only accepted $10 of the $20 we had in available coupons. "Only one per visit" we were told after all was said and done. We weren't able to see anywhere in print where these restrictions were posted and we felt like they were made up on the spot. One star is generous for our experience. I like Sidepocket's happy hour beer & drink specials. Generally after a rough day I'll head there with some friends. The drawback is the smoking environment. No offense smokers... I grew up around it, but I hate smelling like smoke after I leave. The later it gets the more smokey the place becomes. If you want to play pool or watch the game this is a cool place if you don't mind the smoke. The service can be slow, but it's not terrible. There are plenty of tv's and tables so finding a seat is never a problem. I usually only eat from the appetizer menu and all I can say is that it's bar food. Don't expect gourmet, but it will help soak up the alcohol! All in all Sidepocket's is a decent spot to blow off some steam. read more

The food is alright, and the games they provide are good, but the female restroom is awful. It lacks sanitary conditions, there was blood on the floor, and some of the stalls have writing on it, saying cuss words and inappropriate comments on the stall like a high school bathroom, probably even worse. Someone in our group had a Reuben and did praise that it was a good one. I had chicken tenders and they were average at best. The appetitzer of spinach artichoke dip was not very good. I just went here for a couple drinks with a buddy after work. Lots of empty pool tables, lots of cigarette smoke. I left there smelling like an ashtray. The only server was the bartender, who seemed very off put that we would dare order drinks at a bar. I wouldn't dream of ordering food here. It seems amazing that this place stays in business with such bad location. I've been to the Lee's Summit location a few times, and it's a touch better, mostly because you have to smoke outside there. I absolutely LOVE this Side Pockets. My fiance and I go every Friday and are never disappointed with the staff. The food is great, the place is clean, we always have great service and never have much of a problem finding a pool table to play at. The one thing I was really looking forward to ordering here was a nice big pork tenderloin; a sandwich synonymous with Side Pockets. I had not been to any Side Pocket location in years and was thoroughly looking forward to this monstrosity. The sandwich was much smaller than the huge amount of disappointment that came with it. The fries were great and I even loved the pickles but I was completely and totally let down with the star of this side show. Dry! Dry! Dry! I literally used four packets of mayo to try and moisten things up. My friend ordered something else. I chose to fight through it. The server showed no emotion or even pretended to care about my satisfaction or lack thereof. A sad experience and a guarantee that I will not return any time soon. read more

Just wanted wings and a beer kinda quick. Walked in, sat at a table and not one person acknowledged us for five WHOLE minutes. Got up and walked out. This bar has the worst service EVER. This is a great bar with lots of fun things to do. They show the fights with no cover charge! The food is DELICOUS - not like most bar food. My only complaint is if you are not a smoker, the smoke might bother you. If you have asthma or small kids I wouldn't recommend it. It's huge, so you won't be tripping over other people. There are dart boards, tons of pool tables, shuffle board, poker. They have good drink specials and the staff do a great job. They also do catering and fundraising events too. Worst place ever. Me and my fiancée went last nite and it was hardly busy at 11 pm on a Friday night. The waitress came over when we got there already had drinks and she's like oh you already have drinks and that was the only time we saw her. The pool tables are dirty we had to wash our hands after we left because they were dirty from touching the tables. It's all a bunch of young kids who are loud and obnoxious. A good sports bar with plenty of pool tables and a full menu. I play on a pool league here weekly and have had consistent good food and service for a couple of years. They do allow smoking in Blue Springs, but it is stated on the door as you enter so there is nothing unexpected. They have decent drink specials and plenty of parking.
