    Boneless wings and onion rings

Tried Johnny's for the first time, and it exceeded my expectations! The atmosphere was great, with plenty of seating options, including high tables, bar seating, booths, and even outdoor seating. There were tons of TVs throughout, and we even had our own mini TV right at our booth! Our server, Tate, was incredibly friendly, quick, and provided excellent service, answering all my questions. I went with the boneless wings in BBQ sauce and a side of onion rings--both were a great choice! I also tried a High Noon in peach flavor, which I haven't seen anywhere else, and it was delicious.

As far as a recognizable local watering hole goes Johnny's Tavern is as regional Midwest as it can get...that is if you rep the Jayhawks of course since Johnny's is a Lawrence transplant that has been franchised. Just about in every suburb in Kansas City you can find a Johnny's, from Leawood to Lee's Summit. And the food and atmosphere is comparable at just about every location which makes it a recognizable experience just about every time. That consistency is key when it comes to sports bars because, when food quality and service depends on the day then it isn't a place you want to call your "home bar" but, Johnny's hasn't seemed to falter in years. This particular location came through for a win after a long day purusing Powell Garden (review to come later!) and definitely was a crowd pleaser. The chalkboard specials menu is where it's at! Just check it everytime you come in and be amazed and what you can find discounted, on this date the white cheese dip appetizer was $5 and the pork tenderloin sandwich was $9.99. We all indulged in some queso to start and I was pleased to find Space Camper on draft and once the chili, salad and sandwich came we were very delighted by the warm cheese and salty chips in our bellies. When looking for a tried and true go to in just about every big suburb around seek out a Johnny's Tavern and you will feel right at home!

Had a family birthday here Saturday and the place was clean, the staff was super helpful and the extra room we got was amazing. It held 30 people comfortably. We ordered a pizza and the dough was so soft yet still crispy on the edges. It was huge as well. Large enough for us all to eat as a 4 top table.

    Egg Burger and Chicken Tenders

My husband had the egg burger. The egg was exactly how he wanted it, however, the rest of the burger was bland and needed salt for him to be able to eat it. Barely any fries with either entree. My chicken tenders were hard and dry. Our favorite part of the meal was the Tavern Espinaca. Was a pretty quiet dinner. Not too busy on a Monday evening. However, our waitress could barely be bothered. We ordered water and our appetizer. It came out right before our food did. Took almost 20 minutes to get our check. I thought coming in a little after the dinner rush would be better.

Very cool place , more of a sports bar atmosphere. Food is good, the pizza is awesome. Service was good and not slow like some places . Will be back again .

We went inside and it immediately opened up to a large bar which was nice because I could know exactly what they had available on tap. We chose for a table and saw some games like darts, karaoke, etc. We ordered some apps like the nachos and bacon wrapped jalapenos. They were large portions and definitely were flavor bombs. I also ordered wings with mojo sauce which I recommend. The sauce was like a sweet tangy taste with a little bit of heat. I also ordered a cold beer to wash it down. Overall it was a great experience and can't wait to spend more time here in the cooler weather

I mean soo good. I had a Mojito to drink and I wasn't a fan. It had some kind of coconut flavor in it and I don't like coconut. I've never had one that had coconut in it before. Hubs had some kind of punch and it was tasty. I ended up getting one of those too andnit was nice. For meals, we both got wings. Our waitstaff misheard me and gave me boneless wings I stead of traditional wings as I ordered. No biggie. I ate them but I'm here to tell you, I'm not a fan of boneless wings. It's hunks of meat in sauce. Hubs got traditional wings as he ordered and he liked them. Overall, decent place with decent food. It's close so we'll be back.

Think Cheers without the neckties, and within driving distance before your air conditioning can cool off your car. That's WestSide. Located in a Lee's Summit strip mall, anchored by Big Lots and Starbucks, on MO 291, it's about as neighborhood as you can get. Why don't be surprised if the staff remembers your drink and maybe your food order by your third visit (your name might take a bit longer). Anyway, I have always gotten excellent and friendly service along with very good food. There are daily meal and drink specials. Any meal I have ever had that wasn't up to snuff was immediately taken back and replaced with whatever I actually ordered. Servers? Think "the girl next door, but with a smile and a good attitude." Parking is abundant with adequate handicap spaces near the door. It's well lit and has that safe suburban feel. Their prices are reasonable (even in our current economy), and the menu should cover most reasonable tastes, without being overwhelming. I now consider myself a regular (I did verify that status with both the bartenders and a server the other night). It's a friendly, comfortable place that's easy to relax in.

I come here because it is convenient, always has been for me and now even more so because of the streetcar and because of the self serve beer wall. If that intimidates you don't fret because there is a full bar and some taps behind the bar the bartenders can serve you from. Sometimes I choose to do this because the beer wall can get pricey quickly but, it's a novel and fun concept that works for downtown. The food though I feel is overpriced, like why am I paying $15 for tots that are barely topped with toppings and really aren't even a sizable portion? Last time I was here to watch the Chiefs game I ordered the Rueben Tots expecting a fun pile of classic Rueben sandwich components on top of hot crispy greasy tots instead what I received was a small mound of stringy corned beef and a slice of melted Swiss cheese and a dismal drizzle of thousand island. I had to ask for more sauce on the side because it just wasn't enough for the amount of tots. If these would have been between $10-$12 maybe I would have let it slide and this review would have been different but for $15 I just wasn't too happy. Also, another note the menu online has absolutely no descriptions whatsoever so, if you're trying to place a pickup order good luck knowing what you're actually ordering. This could be an easy fix. The service is okay but sometimes it feels like you have to chase down the wait staff or just walk up to the bar to get another drink or ask for a menu. I'm sure happy hour is fine here but I haven't been for years so, I'm not sure if the prices have gone up for that too. Will I be back? Well yes but, I'll definitely order something different from the menu then the last time around. Maybe 4 sliders for $15 is a better way to go? Because I've also gotten the Rueben sandwich here before for $15 and I felt like it was sparse and the meat was lacking. I do believe they have a pretty good burger deal on Monday unless that has changed.
