We came here on a whim on a week night. Not too busy which was good. Our waitstaff was very nice. For an app, we ordered the Bacon Jalapeño. ORDER THESE! These were soooooo good. I mean soo good. I had a Mojito to drink and I wasn't a fan. It had some kind of coconut flavor in it and I don't like coconut. I've never had one that had coconut in it before. Hubs had some kind of punch and it was tasty. I ended up getting one of those too andnit was nice. For meals, we both got wings. Our waitstaff misheard me and gave me boneless wings I stead of traditional wings as I ordered. No biggie. I ate them but I'm here to tell you, I'm not a fan of boneless wings. It's hunks of meat in sauce. Hubs got traditional wings as he ordered and he liked them. Overall, decent place with decent food. It's close so we'll be back. read more

I came here to watch the chiefs game with some friends. What caught my eye was the large outdoor patio. We went inside and it immediately opened up to a large bar which was nice because I could know exactly what they had available on tap. We chose for a table and saw some games like darts, karaoke, etc. We ordered some apps like the nachos and bacon wrapped jalapenos. They were large portions and definitely were flavor bombs. I also ordered wings with mojo sauce which I recommend. The sauce was like a sweet tangy taste with a little bit of heat. I also ordered a cold beer to wash it down. I've never been here before. We stop here on a Friday evening for drinks snd music. They had a live band playing that night. I like this place. Nothing fancy. Its a hole in the wall restaurant and bar. There's outdoor seating and an area for group gathering. We got a table in the back next to the bar. Waiter came over to take our orders right away. They have a pretty nice stage area for the band. Lots to choose from on the drink menu and prices are pretty reasonable. Service was good. read more

The service deserved a 5 star review. Super friendly hostess and the waitress was wonderful. The food was pretty awful. We ordered fish and chips, classic with fries. Fries were good, pub chips good. Clams were completely overcooked. The one fish filet was kind up chopped fish in breading. Tasted and looked like a fish stick. Pretty awful. The three stars were for the fries and the tea. I didn't expect to be giving a 5-star review to a sports bar, but this place was sooo much more than I expected. If you want regular old, mediocre bar food and average service, this isn't your place. If you're looking for BETTER, though...BETTER service, BETTER atmosphere, and BETTER food, you need to forget those other places and come here!! We went on Sunday and I was pretty excited to see they had a brunch menu, and bottomless Bloody Mary's and mimosas until 2pm! The Bloody Mary's were awesome with the right amount of spice. The brunch menu had some great looking options, but we were drawn to the main/regular menu. We had the bacon torpedos to start. They're stuffed with a candied jalapeño cream cheese, wrapped in bacon, and served with HONEY!! The bacon needed to be just a bit crispier, but the flavors were so amazing, I didn't even really care. The cream cheese had such a fantastic flavor from the candied jalapeño and the honey on the side was the perfect compliment to the spicy jalapeño. We also had some spicy garlic traditional wings, which were perfectly cooked and really nice and crispy! None of that stringy skin I'm used to getting at a lot of other places. And the sauce was fantastic! My husband had the black and blue burger, which he loved. And the beer battered fries?? Where do I begin?? They were perfectly cooked and crispy. I was expecting a thick "batter", but these were super lightly coated and the batter gave them a flavor all their own. Absolutely delicious. I'd go back for the fries alone. I had a personal pizza, the Nate's Loco, and had them substitute carnitas for the chicken. The crust was a bit disappointing (maybe a pre-made?) but the toppings were a delicious combination. I'd try it on the larger crust next time. Our server was also amazing!! Super attentive and took great care of us. We are already talking about when to go back. I have been going to Captain's for probably 2-3 years now... maybe 4? It definitely isn't for everyone BUT, it is for most people. IF you know you;re walking into a divey-ish lake bar, and enjoy that atmosphere, the you are solid. I hate to say it, but I'm a regular and a lot of the staff knows who I am, they have our drinks ready for us as soon as we walk in and they typically remember our food orders. I'm not writing this review for a specific visit but just an "overall in general." My mom and I probably visit Captain's once a week. They have food and drink specials everyday of the week. My favorite special is their WING special. Their tacos aren't my favorite but I just don't get them. I love their buffalo chicken mac n cheese as well. Their pretzels and cheese bites are good too. They have live music sometimes, poker nights and dart tournaments. They have updated their outside patio and it is great. Lately I think they have been getting new staff so I don't see my faves all the time, but more staff helps it run quicker! (which sometimes they are slow) Anyway, As I said, not everyone will like captains and that's fine. Give it a shot. read more

We were hungry for lunch and decided to check this place out. It is definitely a casual environment. Touts itself as a "Key West" type place but I think that's a stretch. Maybe in the evening...I had the french dip and my DH had a burger. Mine was really good, the meat was tender and flavorful and the bun was soft. Fries were not hot, but not cold. DH said his food wasn't hot. It seemed like maybe it was sitting for a bit before it came to the table and the burger kinda fell apart. Food was alright, went for taco Tuesday and caught a table pretty quick. Got the fried shrimp taco, beef (eh on the seasoning), and shredded chicken all soft and grilled tortillas. The service is where it went downhill; the chick with braids only saw our table of five about 4-5 times and we didn't have anything to drink with our meals. Also other friend got fish taco which was alright and meatloaf which took forever. We were half way done with tacos before her food came out and it didn't come out correctly. VERY dark bar. All the walls are BLACK with zero lighting from outside. The food has really gone down hill and the services has pretty much tanked. Live close and have been here before. Usually get wings as they have a variety of unusual sauces. In the past, it was busy w locals on weekends. Sad to see its declined. The wings were overcooked and only half edible. Fries were good. Music was so loud it was hard to talk at the table. I asked the waitress if it could be turned down. The answer: "one of the patrons was using jukebox and since he paid for it. They can't turn it down." Huh? And "that its crazy here on Friday nights." Some how that was an excuse.
