I went out with 10 other people in the group to celebrate my fiancée's grandmother's 84th Birthday. It has been 3 years since I went to the old Redneck cafe before it burned down... Here's what I ordered; chicken strips, baby carrots, steamed broccolis, and some home-cut French fries to replace the standard-issue salad it comes with on the menu. The order came with the ranch dressing for the broccolis and the gravy for the chicken tenders. So those are pluses for my order. Here's where it goes down south; The chicken tenders tasted okay, a bit dry and it was in the same fryer as the catfish with the cornmeal batter. I'd suggest using a different fryer for the chicken ONLY. The saving grace is the gravy which tasted quite good with a good note of black pepper on it! The baby carrots were a bit of a turnoff for me! It's pretty soft, almost to the point of being mushy, and tasted a bit spoiled! That is NOT what I want on my carrots! I wanted freshly cooked and buttery baby carrots, not this mushy junk... The broccolis were steamed okay. It wasn't fork-tender, but it wasn't crunchy at all. Personally, I'd prefer it freshly steamed until fork-tender. That is my kind of steamed broccolis! Another saving grace is the ranch dressing which tasted quite good and paired will with the broccolis! The main, and INFURIATING, part is when they forgot my home-cut French fries as a replacement for my salad!!! I was so upset that I didn't even want the fries when asked. I said to let them keep the fries, because I don't care and wanted them to learn the lesson on what the customers ACTUALLY ordered. I was waiting the WHOLE TIME on my fries while eating my dinner to the point when I was just "FORGET IT! Keep the da&n fries!" The man wearing jeans, a light red motorcycle shirt, glasses on, and a light grey beret cap, he brought out my order and did NOT bring out my fries! I fully expect the food to be better and taste the same as the old Redneck Cafe. Also I expect the bar/grill to hire more servers, because that place was running on two of them the whole time I was there! read more

Raw catfish delivered to my table twice after being taken back, made me sick. Would return for drinks but never the fish.

Always great food and service. Go probably 3 times a month. Only once was my food not hot enough. Have tried about 12 items on the menu and have not been disappointed. Love the cheeseburger sliders, salmon salad, pork sliders and their waffle fries. read more

Service was really good and friendly and they did really good accommodating a large group but the food was low quality bar style food.

We have been in town since June 1st and Sidekicks Bar & Grill is one of the first places we went for food and drinks. We've been back at least 5 or 6 times since, and even went to see an Elvis tribute impersonator on a Friday night. The place is big and has a dance big floor and stage. I dined at Sidekick's for breakfast in May 2024 on a Sunday morning. The first thing to know about Sidekicks is that it's a very large bar with a dance floor, several pool tables, and a large amount of seating all in a very large open area. The place feels huge especially being in a small town out in the country. It's a large nightclub in a small town. Walking in into the vastness on a Sunday morning was a bit weird, but we did see 2 or 3 other groups there for breakfast. We walked to a table and seated outselves near the dance floor. I had coffee and the standard issue one egg breakfast with bacon, hash browns, and toast. The coffee was standard-issue "office coffee" which was passable but not special or remarkable. It was fresh and that's about the only thing it had going for it. The amount of egg on my plate, and my companion's plate, was laughable. We each should have had one egg, but the portion on the plate was closer to half an egg. My order did include 3 pieces of good quality bacon that was not too thin and did not have a gamey taste. The bacon was cooked to a good level of doneness without being too crispy. The hash browns were standard issue, cooked to just a bit of crispiness. The toast was plain whitebread toast, dry cut into triangles as is traditional. For about $6, the food was good and a good value considering how high prices are lately (May 2024). My only complaint is that my food should have been hotter; it was warm but not warm enough. The service was great: Friendly, fast, and with a smile. Our waitress was very friendly and polite. By the time we got our food, a few other people wandered in for breakfast and I think our waitress was working 6 tables at once. She kept the coffee and water refills coming, and we didn't have to wait long to pay. So overall this was a good experience if you're OK with eating breakfast in what is essentially a large country style nightclub. I would go back here if nothing else is open. read more

Great atmosphere, karaoke night was entertaining. But the management only had two servers to cover the very large area. No kidding, I waited 90 minutes from when I came in to being served. Service was great! I liked the vibe of the place very much. The diner and drinks were meh. I had the bacon wrapped shrimp and it was too hard and crunchy. My date had the chicken fried steak and it was really good. I had a couple of cocktails off the menu and the second one tasted completely different from the first which was odd since it was supposed to be the same. I didn't complain. We were done eating just hanging out and listening to music I just didn't drink it. Our server was awesome, very bubbly and attentive. I wish I could remember her name. She was great! They had live music and it was wonderful. A guy named Chris Cunningham and he was super talented. If you get a chance go check him out. All in all I would definitely go there again. Had lunch today, burgers and fries. Delicious! Huge burgers and seasoned curly fries. Lunch specials looked great but we both wanted burgers today. My husband had a cheeseburger with jalapeños, pepper Jack cheese and served on a jalapeño bun. He loved it. Service was excellent, friendly and checked on us often. This is a large dining hall with a bar and dance floor that are used at night. Tons of seating, very comfortable. Will definitely return and recommend to family and friends. read more

In any small town with limited choices, go with the flow , make the best of choices that are there. This place didn't have the best food -it's a bar and grill- but it did have a lot of people having fun , friendly and efficient staff and a decent menu. I had the ribeye steak which was mediocre but vegetables were superb! Grilled squash and garlic roasted green beans unexpected but perfected! Give them a ton of credit and such a good job with the fishing tournament in town & the sheer number of people that were there tonight. There was a crowd from the Sealy outdoors Big Bass Splash as we were along with a few birthday parties going on as well and yet they handled everything with efficiency and speed. There are a couple of other places we also enjoyed but this place was the most fun. read more

Wasn't what I order. The waitress was rude. She looked at me like if I made a mistake. Like I should of kept the plate. Sorry but not what I ordered. She didn't even ask if we wanted more tea. Through out our dinner. She stop coming to us. After her mistake. We order desert to bring after we finished our dinner,but instead she brought out our dessert anyways. While we were still eating. My husband and I have been going to sidekick's since it opened years ago. The food in the past has been great and filling, and the service was always great, but here lately there's been a huge change. My kids and I usually order their sliders, but the last couple time the burger pattie's are half the size of the slider bun, litterally one bite of meat if you're an adult and two bites for my 5 & 7 year old. My husband got the club sandwich last week and it was one piece of bacon and one sliver of turkey on each half of the sandwich, I got a better club from the new Kim's gas station for less money. This used to be our favorite place to get a drink and a good meal, but the standards have significantly changed. The service is always very slow. Always give an excuse of "had to get another order out". Food is not bad. There are pool tables and lots of TV's. Don't go there in a hurry. My most recent order took approx 35 minutes and was only a burger/fries. Fries were barely cooked and were cold. Prob been sitting in the back for a while. Not impressed. read more

As a resident of Emory i love this place. The staff is friendly, the drinks are potent, and the environment is fun. There's not a lot of things to do around here for all types of people, but this is one place where anyone can go and have a great time. Everyone is treated like family. read more
