I met a friend of mine for lunch yesterday at SWG and we had such a great time. Sadie was our bartender and served our wonderful lunch. I had the blackened catfish platter which was to die for my friend had the hamburger steak platter. The presentation of the food was as phenomenal as the taste. The atmosphere was lively and the folks around us were friendly. Sadie took exceptional care of us. I would highly recommend SWG.! read more

Cool spot, has more of a bar vibe than a restaurant or grill. Went for a Dolly Parton event that was advertised as family friendly and felt a little strange bringing my kids as it didn't seem very family friendly. We ordered lunch and drinks and for some reason was charged an additional fee for top tier even though we never asked for top tier or were even told of the extra charge which was almost doubled the happy hour drink price. Service was subpar, had to hunt down our service many times as we sat waiting for her many times. read more

Ordered two Cheeseburgers to go at $14 EACH. They were easily the worst I have ever had. One had cheese, the other did not. BOTH could have been mistaken for shoe leather rescued from a fire - they were charcoal. This is the last time I will EVER visit this place. It was awful. I placed an order for pickup on a Sunday evening and this was my first time going to the establishment. When I walked in it was not crowded but a nice crowd of as present watching football. It felt like a gathering in my home feels. A nice environment. The server had my food packaged, ready to go and went over my order as well as what she included in the bag (flatware, napkins, condiments). The staff was very friendly and I plan to go dine in one day. I ordered the shrimp Alfredo and when I tell you this was GREAT, I am not telling a lie! I don't write many reviews. When I do, it's either really, really good or really, really bad. This one is really, really bad. This is the first time my husband & I tried Sweetwater Grill. We were excited because they had great reviews. First impressions, it's a really cute place. The menu looked good, lots of different things to try. Our server was young and a very nice girl. She greeted us and took our drink order while we decided what to eat. Our beers seemed to be taking a long time so when we looked over at the bar, the dark haired, female bar tender was having a very lengthy chat with a female friend. After about 10 minutes, we waved to our server to ask what was taking so long for our beers. She tried to interrupt the bar tender but the bar tender just continued casually chatting with her friend. Our server then went behind the bar, opened our beers, poured them into glasses and brought them to our table. She apologized for the long wait time and the fact that she doesn't normally pour or get beers for her tables. We thanked her and told her the beers were poured beautifully. Time to order food. My husband ordered a cheeseburger with mustard and ketchup only and a side of tater tots. I ordered the Mushroom & Swiss burger, no veggies, add bacon with a side of fries. Pretty simple and straightforward. Our food was brought to us and we noticed our sides were switched. No biggie, I'll just eat my fries from my husband's basket and he can eat his tater tots from my basket. I lifted my burger bun and saw there was mustard and ketchup my sandwich. My husband's burger was plain. No problem, just another little mix up. We waved our server over to show her the mistake. She apologized and took our food back to the kitchen. Not even 3 minutes later, she brought our food back out. My husband's cheeseburger now had mustard and ketchup and tater tots. My mushroom & swiss burger was a different story. The cook, or whoever in the kitchen, literally scraped the mustard and ketchup off my burger and bun, then put the same fries back in the basket. I could have done that at the table while my fries were still warm. We were served that food. My husband said his cheeseburger tasted like a piece of meat on a bun and his tater tots were now barely warm. He ate about 1/2 of his meal. I should have sent my burger back again and asked for a new one. I did eat a little less than half of it but I was really hungry. Truthfully, when I bit into my burger and tasted the mustard and ketchup on the bun, I should have refused to eat any of it and not paid for the meal at all!! We were very disappointed we were served food, knowing it was incorrect and should not have been served!! Our server discounted my burger by $3.50 and discounted my husband's meal $4.00. She was very apologetic and sweet. I did tell her that it was not cool that the mustard and ketchup was literally just scraped off my burger and bun, then served to me anyway, like I wouldn't notice. I have been eating at Sweetwater on and off since it opened. I would classify the food as basic bar food with some entrees. In the beginning the food was great and the quality was consistent. For the last year or even longer, the food has gone downhill and so has the service. The fried food is sometimes overcooked and the food is served lukewarm. The last few times we have been there, the food takes forever to come out and it hasn't been super busy. Last night, four of the people at our table ordered pasta and all four dishes were not hot. The sauce was bland and it tasted as if some of the ingredients used were old. The chicken was small and tasteless. For the prices, the quality and taste are definitely lacking. This place is no longer consistent and I personally think the owner and/or manager need to do something about it. Get it together and do better. read more

Reviews you may read do not do this place justice. As read before the parking lot will be packed, they will be busy... but guess what, open seating and amazingly fast service. Check out the menu online and get your food even faster. Jennifer was our server and absolutely amazing. Cold beer and amazing food. Shrimp and catfish are seasoned amazingly. Cilantro rice is to die for. Music Friday's and Saturday's and the manager even came to check on us. Well worth going a few miles out of your way. They are expanding outside which is covered with a full bar and pool tables. Will definitely be back next time in town to try more of their menu!!! read more

Solid addition to the 276 corridor of bars and eateries! Oh wait; Hwy 276 has very little food, only 2 bars (including Sweetwater Grill) and a handful of hole-in-wall food dives. In that case; this is a saloon-oasis in the middle of the 276 desert! Country themed saloon with better than average food! It may be a little warm in the heat of the day, or when the bar is packed - but there is ample room to spread out and get comfy. Good appetizers; try the Loaded Queso or nachos. If you get wueso; order the bowl - the 'cup' is indeed a tiny cup. The entrees are even better; my wife loved her Chicken Sandwich w fries (tater tots were an option)! My Shrimp Quesadillas were fantastic, and the spicy ranchero beans were filling. Served w tasty guacamole, sour cream, and pico! The desserts looked fantastic, but we were full. We'll try those another night! Don't forget; the full bar awaits! They can do standard dive-bar drinks like Red Bull & Vodka, but their Silver Patron Margarita was extra stout & extra good! I've been coming to Sweetwater since moving to Texas in 2019. At first I wasn't to impressed but I will admit that Chris the owner has worked very hard to improve the place. He has given the Ladies a fantastic Ladies Room. Thank you Chris! He has added a back room for parties and more. There's 2 stages. One inside and a big one outside. There's 2 Jukeboxes, inside and outside. The bartenders are friendly and polite and work very hard. Sometimes there's a lot of us thirsty people, they'll get to us with a smile. There's also TVs for all our different viewing tastes to share. So if you come by and see lots of trucks, motorcycles and a couple cars lol, don't worry there's still room for you. So come on in and maybe find your next new friend and your new favorite BAR. read more

I am VERY happy to say the food is still absolutely fabulous. Portions still large. (I always have at least one more meal at home) AND BEST OF ALL 16 Oz cups for my ice tea!!! We finally got back here after a long, long absence and we're glad we did because the place has expanded and we remembered just how good it was before. Sweet Water Grill has terrific selection's, great service, won't break your wallet AND live bands to listen too. We got the quesadilla and the 3 taco plate dish along with the loaded queso and chip appetizer! Delicious and filling. Had to take home a doggie bag. Nicole was a terrific host as she took us around to see the expansion that had happened in our absence and Cassidy was as sweet as could be as our attentive waitress. We highly recommend Sweet Water Grill if you're ever heading to Quinlan or Rockwall on Hwy 276! It was such a great treat for us again. read more

Thank goodness this place was open while we were in town visiting family! We ate here twice! Their Nachos are huge and killer, I loved their pickles and the Toothpicks. All a must try! Their Chicken Fried Steak is also huge and amazing! Ate the rest with fried eggs for breakfast the next morning. Eat here! It's good! Owner's/Management - tell the girls to get some personality! Been here several times through the years. Mainly just for a drink or two. Never was a fan of the old menu options. Came for lunch today. The new menu blew me away. Wow!, what a freaking selelction. Tried the beef steak burrito bowl. Dayum good. If the rest of the updated menu tastes as good as this dish...its my new restaurant of choice. Service was terrible. Waitresses were to busy talking to their friends to work. Took 10 Minutes for anyone to acknowledge I was there and they walked by constantly. Another 30minutes to get food and only because I had to ask for it. Otherwise I would likely still be sitting there. Terrible service, mediocre food at best, don't waste your time. read more
