Had a late lunch here today, as Sidereal Farm Brewery was close by to the Airbnb we were staying at this week. As a disclaimer for this review, we came for the food, not the beer. My wife ordered the burnt ends and I went with the simmered ribs. We felt the meal portions were a bit on the smaller side, but I also think the pricing reflected that. The meats themselves were tender, but I felt my ribs were overseasoned somewhat. The sweet potato side was outstanding, just wish we had more of that. And the Fire Roasted brussels and artichoke side was burnt, to be honest. Cornbread, however, was extremely tasty. Still, overall, a decent meal, but somewhat inconsistent. 3.5 , rounded up to a 4 Star Yelp rating, IMO. Again, I can't comment about the beer, because we don't consume beer. I really shouldn't say the place had a "Hipster vibe", but it was certainly a unique and cool setting for a casual lunch. read more

Was excited to see a brewery/fine dining place out of the way on the map so we tried it! Based on the reviews here we had high hopes but it ended up being underwhelmed. Generally over all beer vs. food the beer was better. We liked 2 of the 4 we tried. The staff is very friendly, kind and accommodating and actually took one of the food items off- we didn't ask and were willing to pay so that was nice. Hubby ordered the "perfect scallop" it was almost inedible due to the amount of salt used. I had the burnt ends with peach/caper berry slaw, Tuscan Mac and cheese and sourdough bread. The burnt ends had good flavor but they were very overdone and dry. Mac and cheese had a good sauce bread was tasty. Neither of us enjoyed the slaw but maybe someone else would have. Overall a neat place to try but unsure if we'll try it again. read more

These guys broke my brain today. I really enjoy this place, they have some great beers available on draft and in cans for take away and their staff is always friendly and knowledgeable. We arrived about half hour from closing time but were served with a smile by a delightful man in a kilt. We had our puppy with us so they sad we could sit outside, it was nice out and the place is gorgeous, so it was fine. They, sadly were out of the fire baked spanakopita and the Korean Bulgogi pork rice bowl, but I ordered everything else on the menu and two delicious beers. It was a confusing meal, it wasn't bad, not by any means at all, I took the rest home with continue enjoying it. The food was insanely salty, but it was still INCREDIBLY delicious, I couldn't stop eating it. I'm not a huge fan of salt, something being too salty is honestly the only thing I'll send back to a kitchen. But I didn't want this out of my sight. The thanksgiving wrap, was wonderful, but I think it may have been the gravy that was so salty because it was also on the side of stuffing that came with it. The stuffing was littered with these delicious little mushrooms that I shamelessly picked out and did not share. I promptly ate half of the wrap in four unstoppable bites! The steak tip Mac & cheese, pasta cooked perfectly and the steak paired perfectly with the sharpness of the sauce. Again, SO salty, but couldn't stop eating it!! So freaking good, enough for me to keep it the table AND bring it home. Chicken Parmesan, crispy, perfectly pounded out thin and not a bit dry. This so was so salty that I was looking for capers or some kind of fish in it. But it was still very good, I'll probably get back into that one tonight. Antipasto boards are probably my favorite things at any restaurant, theirs doesn't fall short of perfect. Their ever changing selection pairs well together and is always creative. The mole cured sausage was damn delightful. This seems to be a thing they've been doing every weekend, if you're curious, just go try it, they don't disappoint and the people there are class act. I recommend EVERYTHING and I can't wait to go back next month, hopefully before things run out!! read more

Who knew having beers while watching chickens roaming outdoors could be so therapeutic? If you're around the area and want a great pour, you have to visit Sidereal Farm Brewery. Set on a farm, this brewery was just fantastic. Their beers were really fun (and delicious), and according to the staff, they release new beers every week. They had light beers, dark beers, fruity ones, and honestly, everything else in between. There is plenty of indoor seating in a cozy atmosphere with a few outdoor tables (where they let you be with your pup as long as they're leashed). They have many chickens outdoors, just roaming around. It's just a great spot. We didn't get to try the food, unfortunately, so we'll have to go back for that. read more

It is worth the ride. The beers were interesting. They were well made and they had a broad spectrum. The building was clean and a nice set up. The team was friendly and knowledgeable. The cider is the best I have ever had. I am not sure about the restaurant. read more

On a hot summer day, what do you need? You need fresh, delightful beer with a lovely charcuterie board. Sidereal produces interesting styles- grisettes, saison and a delicious cream ale on cherries (Bobs Cream Ale). We sat outside until the sun came out and beat us into submission. Thank goodness we went inside- the AC was great, and so was the conversation.. The beer was fantastic, and the charcuterie board was so interesting. Two sausages, fresh fruit, cheddar and feta cheese, all sorts of pickled things and lovely grilled bread. And an amazing amount of honey- more than you ever see n a board. Sidereal Farm Brewery is in a tiny town in Central Main// but they are brewing world class beer. Go visit them!!! read more

Sidereal (sadeer.ee.l) : of, relating to, or expressed in relation to stars or constellations. And this label is most fitting for this rising star brewery! Yes it's yet another pastoral paradise in Central Maine. And another gastronomic galaxy of food, to boot. We were blown away by every beer we tried in stylish 5oz glass tasters (for sale of course). The dark Dunkel, Porters, sours, lighter ales, IPAs and many unique choices not common in Maine. But on top of the setting (including heated outdoor patio), friendly staff and libations, the food is excellent! We shared pickle board, Charcuterie board, veggie chilli (with pulled pork topper), and Argentinian Asado Compound Butter Fired Oysters. Yup, Outrageous! It was beer only that day but wine in coming by new years and soon thereafter cider. This is a must visit and only a few miles off Rt 3 on the way to Belfast/ Bar Harbor. Oh, and the bathrooms?? An intentional homage to Twin Peaks! For real! read more

The truth of it is that i cannot get enough of this wonderful brewery and kitchen. I don't think that it is possible to do things better than these guys do. The have a new indoor dining room and they are brewing beers, wines, and meads better than ever! The Maillard kitchen NEVER disappoints!!! If you haven't eaten here yet, you HAVE to go and try it. They aren't the most inexpensive place you can find, but they are QUALITY personified!!!! read more

Our first time here and the bar had two spots open, but not together. The bartender was kind enough to ask other patrons to move one seat over to accommodate us! He was very engaging, helping us find the right beer for our tastes. He even gave us a few food recommendations that we took and he was right! Top it off, the guy was in a kilt! We are between Augusta and Waterville in Central Maine but it feels like a million miles from anywhere. Beautiful area. Newer brewery. I'm drinking the Mutant Koi, a kolsch style. It is crisp and clean and delicious. It's currently 1:30 on a Sunday afternoon and the place is quite busy. Lots of people are eating but, we are just passing through. Nice atmosphere. Here is the thing. The food is always really good. The beer is OK. But the reality is, you really need to be a local/very regular to get good service at the bar. I decided to write this review as this exact scenario has now happened on more than one occasion. It's has been made clear a number of times that the regulars will get their pours first and get better overall service. A couple times now I have sat at the bar and waited for service while people who are clearly regulars get their first pour as they are walking in the door. Additionally, people who have half empty glasses get a fill up before you are tended to. Add to this the varying level of inebriation of the bar tender, and you have the perfect storm for a REALLY friendly bar tender who just wants to hang out with and serve his friends. This place is a little out of the way and not worth the troubles unless you are a regular. The food is the highlight of the this brewery. The beer and service leave you wanting. read more

An excellent stop for a tall glass of delicious home brew and some off the wall food! The night we went, the brewery featured smash burgers of the exotic type. I had a camel burger and my wife had the kangaroo burger. I'd had kangaroo before, so I tried the camel. It was delicious. Similar to beef but a slightly different, perhaps Sandy flavor...lol.
