The classic turkey sandwich on French roll rather than rye.

Sidestreets Deli and Bakery was a delightful discovery as I was traveling I-69. It is less than five minutes off the freeway and well worth the stop. The service was prompt, friendly and efficient. The interior is very charming and well designed with lots of seating. The restaurant and restrooms were exceptionally clean. The food was amazing with many choices. There were 44 sandwich choices with 13 homemade bread choices. I will be stopping here many times in the future when traveling I-69. I highly recommend this deli.

Amazingly cute deli and bakery. I was so pleased to see GF bread offered for their sandwiches and several GF bakery items. Highly recommend, I'll be making a return visit whenever my travels take me through Charlotte, Michigan!

I found this place thanks to Yelpers when traveling through the area and hoping to find something other than fast food. The interior was very attractively decorated and would be a nice lunch spot to dine in. However, I needed to get back on the road so I ordered my sandwich to go. Service was very pleasant, and it didn't take long before I had my sandwich. The desserts in the large bakery case all looked amazing. There were several different varieties of cheesecake, cookies, muffins, and much more. The assortment was mind boggling and if I had been purchasing a dessert I would have had a hard time making a choice. My sandwich was good, especially the bread. I had ordered it on the jalapeño cheddar bread, and it was delicious. I did think the sandwich was smaller than I had expected for $10, and in particular the smoked Gouda cheese was skimpy, the slice was paper thin. Overall a good experience and I would like to return at breakfast time, as the breakfast sandwich menu was intriguing.

Amazing Deli, delicious! My husband and I should have split our subs, they were both amazing and very big, delicious boar head meats! It's hard to find a great deli now a days! This one surpassed our expectations, we will be back! Service was great, subs were amazing! A must try for a coffee and treat or a lunch Sammy or sub!

We LOVED this place. Our sandwiches were great! So was my gluten free dessert! I was super happy there was more than one gluten free dessert to choose from. The service was great. The group of teenage girls working behind the counter were sweet, polite, quick, and hardworking. Finally, the place is decorated SO cute. I could have relaxed here all afternoon. We will definitely be back to pick up sandwiches and will probably get some for to go next time, too!

This is a great little place to stop in for a nice variety of sandwiches, soups and bakery items. I actually failed to take photos of the food but did get some of the interior. The place is split into a bakery side and the deli side. They have separate check out registers, but I think they are owned by the same entity/person. The food is in the ~$10 range for the various sandwiches for the most part. The bakery side is between $2.50-$3 per item. We got the chicken salad sandwich on french bread, which I would not do again as it was a bit hard for the sandwich. The chicken salad is made of real chicken and will be like you made it at home. We also got "The Kramer", which was amazing. The bread was some type of cheese bread and the inside was very tasty with enough sauce and meat. I would look at the menu for more details on the sandwiches. We did do a combo with the chicken salad which was supposed to be half a sandwich and a cup of soup, which we tried to seafood gumbo. The gumbo was flavorful but spicy, so be warned. We also tried to of the turnovers. One was the apple and the other was cherry. The cherry needed a bit more filling but the apple was just right. If you want a more homemade experience when going out, this place is worth your time.

Great sandwiches, coffee, and desserts. The coffees are cheaper than most shops for a large coffee. Awesome cheesecake.

I will have to say this is the coolest bakery and culinary experience I have been to in a while,…read moreservice was amazing, the shashuka was super tasty and extremely fresh, and they had this cute band playing folk music when we went, they also had a local artist with hand carved fish exhibited there and we ended up loving it so much we bought two of them definitely worth going to if you're in the area of central Michigan

I've heard great things about Sarkozy Bakery for years, but never had a chance to stop in since…read morethey close at 5 pm or earlier. We happened to be in town during lunch time so Nate and I stopped in for a quick bite. Their lunch menu includes some sandwiches, a couple salads, pizza, soup, and quiche. I got the ham and cheese sandwich, and Nate got an 8" pizza. The food came out pretty quickly, and I liked the sandwich. It had plenty of mayo and thickly sliced ham and cheese. It came with a little cup of pickled veggies, which I enjoyed. I had a bite of the pizza, which was very tasty! The prices were great - I think my sandwich was $7.50. We also got some pastries for dessert - I chose the cherry danish, and Nate got the pistachio croissant. Both were very tasty and not too sweet. The vibe of this bakery is more old-school and homey than some of the more "trendy" bakeries that I'm used to - not a bad thing, just a little different. They sell loaves of bread, cookies, and pastries. I loved their merch, too - cute pins, hats, tote bags, etc. They have brunch every Sunday and they were swapping out some art while we were there. It's a cute spot and I'm glad I finally got to check it out.

We had to go to an appointment near Grand Rapids today. So my hubby wanted to stop by this bakery…read morethat was recently voted #1 Bakery in Michigan. Can I have anything... No ... Yeah I'm crying. But I ordered everything I would if I could. And my hubby tried everything. Do I think you should go out of your way Yes! Especially now when we have nothing to do but drive these days. Everything was freshly baked different unique flavors. We ordered one of everything basically. Got into the car my hubby tried a little bite of everything and then we actually went back in to get more of things so that we could share them with other people. They had a Malple Toasted Coconut Cinnamon Roll... I tasted the frosting it was delicious. The texture was super soft by feel. He loves them. We also got a four pack of regular cinnamon rolls which we haven't tried yet. They had a homemade oatmeal sandwich cookie that was pretty good, but not the best ever. Homemade nutter butter cookies. The frosting inside was a little sugary, I tasted that, but other than that he said it was a great mixture between crunchy and soft. They have a cappuccino donut... I tasted the frosting and the filling Oh my God... If I could eat them we would have ordered a dozen. And he agrees. The apple fritters... Amazing. We haven't tried the turnovers yet. They have Apple, blueberry, raspberry, and cherry And the scones looked amazing although we didn't actually get one. The baker really seem to know his stuff. As someone who cooks all the time and goes to restaurants and likes to try new restaurants and see what other people are doing I really appreciate the fact that he also does the same. He goes places, he tries things and it gives him new perspective. And it shows that he really is into perfecting his craft. Bottom line if you're in the area you should go. If you're not in the area and you have nothing else to do you should probably still go! Everything is great and fresh and they are super friendly and helpful As with everything there's always a con. My only complaint would be that the baker wasn't wearing a mask but maybe where they are, you might not need to. I don't know what the numbers are there.
