I'm giving this salon two stars solely because the staff was kind and courteous--but unfortunately, the quality of the hair service I received was very disappointing. I booked a root touch-up, partial highlights, and toner with Lindsey. I was clear from the beginning about what I wanted: ashy blonde highlights to help blend and mask incoming grays, specifically without orange or red tones. I even showed multiple reference photos and explained that my hair naturally gets brassy in the sun, so initially we need to make sure we avoid those tones and go ashy blonde. She agreed and assured me that it wouldn't be a problem to achieve my requested results. Instead, I left with brassy, orange-toned highlights that didn't reach anywhere near my roots- aprox. 3 or so inches from my roots and she said it was to "add dimension", however all it looks like is grown out brassy highlights just days later. To make matters worse, the stylist acknowledged that the result wasn't what I asked for, telling me that "next time" she would tone it differently and use a heat lamp. I paid for this service now--why should the correct tone wait for a next time? It was also disappointing that my stylist was double-booked. While she went back and forth between myself and another gentleman who was getting highlights and a cut, my wash and toner were done by the front desk receptionist, who was clearly not a stylist. My wash wasn't done properly; after wash was "complete", I scratched under my hair, at the top of my neck at hairline and ended up with hair dye all over my nails--after the wash was supposedly complete. I showed her and she said it was "ok". I also paid extra for a toner, which should have been used to correct the brassiness and deliver the ashy tone I requested. I've had highlights many times before and never had an issue achieving the tone I wanted. This should not have been difficult. Lastly, I was quoted a price over the phone and told that a blow dry was included with my service. At checkout, I was charged separately for a blow dry--one that wasn't even a true blowout, just a rushed dry and a quick pass with the curling iron. When I brought up the discrepancy to the receptionist who gave me the original pricing at booking, I was told, "Oh, I guess that stylist charges for her blow drys." That kind of inconsistent pricing and lack of accountability is unacceptable. My appointment was at 12:30, but I wasn't seen until nearly 1:00, aa she was with a different customer (not the one mentioned earlier in this review). I don't appreciate being double booked as I feel this could be why my service wasn't done properly. The entire visit took almost 3.5 hours--far longer than expected or quoted, bc I waited a lot. By the time she was done, I had to leave quickly for a school pickup, so I didn't have time to dispute the charges any further or push back further on the results of my hair. Again, everyone was kind, which I appreciate--but at the end of the day, I was overcharged, kept waiting, and left with a color I didn't ask for. I won't be returning. This is a bad look for a company who is rebranding and trying to get clientele. I really hoped this would've worked out for the better as I live here full-time and am looking for a new home salon after my previous stylist moved out of state. read more

Place is cute, most stylist seem great. I'm out $352 because Christina was more worried about making money, than doing what was right for my hair. When u go somewhere where u think ur dealing with a professional, you would expect to get all of your options. Not the case here. She talked me into a beaded weft which apparently is all she does. Doesn't matter if it's good for u or not. Totally taken advantage of- glad I consulted elsewhere with the actual options that WOULD DO MINIMAL DAMAGE TO MY HAIR. She also did this to my friend. She lost a chunk of hair and went to tape-ins. At her own expense. Be a good person. Don't hurt people who are already hurting. Be honest. I don't think that is too much to ask for. read more

it takes a lot for me to write a bad review, but this company appears to be only in it for the $$. they just charged me a deposit for a haircut I never booked. also, when I called after my last haircut to see if I could fix a few things they never called me back. now as I am calling to address this erroneous deposit charge, they never answer. they charge top dollar but the service does not reflect that. read more

She is so welcoming, very sweet, and is amazing at what she does! She even helped me get into my dress. And took some pictures of me near the fountain. Christen, Nothing in my post was inaccurate information about the experience at your salon. The staff was very sweet, however, my issue resides within the services. I entered the salon hopeful to get the reference photo I previously had done before or as close to it. The process of getting my hair done cost me over 700$ and over 12 hours in salon chairs. I would not do that for financial gain because my time is valuable to me. I have also paid double for the service you were not able to properly provide because I had to attend multiple color correction appointments at another salon. Considering the fact you were on vacation during this time. Within a few hours after my initial treatment I called your salon and reached out to Debbie. I spoke with Debbie on multiple occasions to try to get my hair fixed because I did not get the service I paid for. I paid full price for a balayage and was given highlights without any balayage technique (my hair was teased and painted without any weaving techniques performed omitting strands of my natural hair color). I had no intention for financial gain, however, I paid full price for a service I did not receive. I appreciate you not charging me for the errors in service. I would have no issue paying your fees if the service was done properly, but I had to pay for other services to correct your salons inability to do and fix my hair. I tried contacting you but Debbie mentioned you were out on vacation, and once you returned I was out of the country. The photos I have posted are from the day of service I can also post the time stamps. The photos you have posted are accurate but they do not display the roots, which was the initial problem. The roots as displayed in my prior post are chunky and do not blend into my natural color which was requested. After the refinement I ended up with purple and pink hair tones and had to rush to another hair salon where they had to strip my hair of dye as best as possible. I do not appreciate being antagonized for posting an honest review to help future clients. I had nothing bad to say of your staff just the service you provided me. This salon used to be great (that's why they get two starts, not one) until their good stylists all left! I went in to have a consultation for extensions after I wanted to try something other than tape-ins & to see what type would be best for my goals. My MAIN goal was to keep my hair pretty healthy and try to grow it out. The woman told me that she recommends the sew-in weft method because it's the "safest" method when trying to grow out your hair. She explained that some of the other methods I looked at (i-tip, keratin bonds, etc) could create tension spots, or small bald spots, when the weight of the hair is localized to a much smaller area. The stylist also recommended a Brazilian blowout since I have naturally curly hair and it would be easier to manage. She seemed somewhat knowledgeable and I decided to move forward, pay for the hair, and book my install. When I got to the install, I decided I wanted to add the Brazilian blowout if she had time. She didn't have time that day to do it but suggested to come back in 2-3 days to have it done (this would be after the extensions are installed??). So she does the install pretty quickly, not painlessly, and they were definitely !not! the length we discussed. Although they were extremely long, the color match was perfect. She told me my head might be sore that night from the weight/tension and should be fine in a day or two. I've had tape in extensions before and they were a little sore, like a light headache but nothing intolerable. NOT THE CASE. I was in SO much pain for two nights that I couldn't put any sort of pressure on my head and slept sitting up on the couch. By night three they were getting a little bit better but still extremely uncomfortable. After about a week and also noticing the hair was not blended :)) , I called one of my friends who is a stylist to come look at my head bc they still hurt and were uncomfortable. She looked at my hair and said, "Oh my god, who did this to you??" She had never seen an install done in such a way. My friend said that it looked like she blended two different techniques and make up her own. I had her take them out right there and then and I've never experienced such a euphoric feeling of relief. I later learned, from my regular hairdresser, that when she was "blending" the extensions to my real hair, she cut INTO my hair so I have extremely uneven layers on the top of my head :)) PLEASEEEE SAVE YOUR MONEY read more

Not overly satisfied with my experience at Beehive. Though the salon was very clean and nicely decorated, the service was not friendly or hospitable. My stylist was unapologetically 25 minutes late to my appointment. He did his best but I didn't feel like my hair looked scarcely different from what I walked in with. Though I asked for a blow out as a test run for my engagement photos, my hair looked stringy and unpolished. I will not be returning for my photoshoot or using this salon again. read more

I won't be returning to Beehive Beauty Salon for future services. My review is just that, it's to warn others of the service I did or did not receive, the experience I had as a paying customer, to help hold Beehive accountable for their actions and hopefully Beehive can find a way to use this feedback to help improve their services in the future. I had booked an appointment at the Beehive Beauty Salon to have my hair done and informed the receptionist that I wanted to go from my current dirty blonde hair to lighter/platinum blonde but was unsure if I needed highlights or full color. The receptionist scheduled a full color and told me to discuss it with the stylist when I arrived. When I spoke with the stylist, I showed her a picture of my previous platinum blonde hair and explained that I wanted to achieve that look again. I wasn't sure if I needed highlights or full color to achieve this look. I felt my current hair was too dark and weighing down my face and I wanted to brighten up my hair again. The stylist said she was going to mix hair color. She came back and applied a full head color mix, and said It would need to sit for 30 min. I marked that time and began reading, when she came back 45 min later (again marking the time), to take me back to wash out the dye from my hair. While shampooing my hair, I noticed that she was frequently separating my hair to check the root color. She left without any explanation, and I was unsure of what was happening or why she left. I decided to use my camera phone to examine my hair, and that's when I noticed that the roots had a red/orange hue. My stylist then returned accompanied by another stylist. They concluded that my scalp was too warm and recommended applying a 10-minute solution to help fix the issue. The other stylist mentioned that the resulting color would be lovely. The stylist applied the 10-minute solution and then washed out my hair before taking me back to her chair. Once I was seated, she noticed that I was examining my hair in the mirror and inquired about my thoughts on the outcome. I expressed that my hair had a copper tone, which was not the result I had anticipated or asked to achieve. The stylist acknowledged that the copper tones were a result of using a full color dye, rather than highlights, which she said I had expressed a preference against highlights. However, I couldn't recall ever mentioning that I didn't want highlights. So I began rethinking our conversation, to try and recall why or when I would have said that. I did remember showing a photo of platinum blonde hair and explaining that was the look I wanted to achieve. The stylist then suggested that I could come back and get highlights at my next appointment, as she continued to dry my hair. When she finished drying my hair, she asked for my thoughts again, and I expressed that I was still unhappy with the outcome, as my hair was now a very copper tone. She reiterated that I could come back for highlights. They\ stylist walked me up to the reception desk to pay and shared with the other ladies at the reception desk that I wasn't happy with my hair color. I clarified why I wasn't satisfied, and the stylist suggested that I could schedule an appointment to have it corrected. I said that I would need to think about that, as I needed time to process what had just happened. However, I did know that I did not want to go through the hassle of coming back again and I didn't have any confidence that it would be done correctly the second time. Despite verbalizing my displeasure with the outcome, none of the receptionists attempted to call the manager or ask if I wanted to speak with one. In hindsight, I should have insisted on speaking with the manager at that moment. I should have taken the time to provide feedback directly to the owner, instead of leaving to process my feelings. I paid for an incorrect service and tipped the hairstylist because I felt she did do work... but in hindsight I should not have "rewarded" unsatisfactory work. I could kick myself for not stopping at that moment and saying... no, this isn't right. While I can "live" with the hair color I ended up with, it is not what I asked for, at all. After leaving the salon, I took some time to process my feelings. Upon arriving home directly from the salon, I called and left a message requesting that the owner to call me back at a more convenient time since she was unavailable at the moment. To my relief, the owner did call me back and asked me to share my experience so she could understand things from my perspective. I appreciated this gesture and proceeded to recount the story as I have shared in this review. While going through my story, the owner mentioned that the stylist had said that I had requested no highlights, but I reiterated that I had never told the stylist that. In fact, I had also shared a photo of my previous platinum blonde hair and indicated both verbally and visually that was my goal. read more

I had an appointment with my stylist and was informed i was seeing someone else upon arrival. The man they sent me too could of cared less about me. He gave me pink hair at the roots and a terrible cut. He certainly was rushing. After that I returned for a color correction. Terrible decision! I stopped in this salon just to see what the prices were since they don't post them on their website. Definitely on the high side. I went to a high end salon back home and this by far was higher. When I asked how much it would be for a bang trim she told me the price of a haircut. Are you kidding me? Can't remember exactly what the price was so something like &60-80 to get your bangs trimmed. Plus she looked down on me like I didn't belong there. Definitely ruled out this salon. read more
