Our happy patients are two kids and an adult and all three of us are completely satisfied with our final result - an awesome looking smile! Dr. Sierk began monitoring my kid's teeth in elementary school, as permanent teeth came out. Dr. Sierk's game plan for both kids was extremely well planned and well communicated. Dr. Sierk always explained at each appt to the kids - what he was doing, what my kids needed to do and how much longer it would be, if they followed his directions. By the time their friends were getting braces on, my kids were already getting their braces off and in record overall time. The kids needed retainer replacements and each time we were able to receive services in a timely manner. Tigard Office has a game room (not just for kids) - old school games like Ms. Pac Man, Donkey Kong, Galaga are our favs. West Linn Office has movies and games too - but if you have an appt, barely any wait time before you are seen. Want to feel like the prettiest girl at the dance? Once you start researching orthodontists, you will be wooed and courted like a debutant. I did the usual background research, asking for references from friends and neighbors, scheduling consultations and then checking the finalists records with the dental board. I was down to two orthodontists in West Linn and let my son, the patient, make the final choice. The treatment plans were almost identical, so it really came down to where he felt more comfortable. He decided to go with Dr. Sierk and so far we have both been pleased with the results. This is a modern clinic in the West Linn Central Village. Not only has the care been great (nice mix of professionalism, kindness and humor), but the transactional elements have been outstanding. We both felt very well informed about the process and what to expect and they presented tutorials on brushing, flossing, etc. on an iPad. I use a flexible spending account through my employer and it is a constant source of irritation to me. I have to present itemized receipts for every transaction. When I mentioned that to the staff here, they gave me all of the necessary paperwork up front with helpful post-it notes like, "Submit this first", "Submit second if they lose the first or need clarification, but not at the same time." Worked like a charm. Another bonus is that Dr. Sierk provides local kids (patients or not) with mouthguards prior to the football season. They are made from impressions of their teeth, so they are far superior to the generic kind. I'm a fan of his version of community outreach. Convenient location and early morning appointments, so they don't interfere with our school and work routines. Comfortable waiting area for the parents and kids with lots of magazines and electronics for them to enjoy while they wait. I remember my own orthodontic care as a bit of a traumatic experience. We have been seeing Dr. Sierk for almost a year now. I am relieved to find someone who I trust to take care of my kids teeth and I don't have to worry about inflated or unnecessary extras. The front desk staff is also pretty cool and I love that they reconfirm the next time we're coming in - every time I see them. I've brought my daughter in for her retainer and will come back for her braces as she needs them and her sister (argh!) when she needs them as well... BTW, my daughter's also on her third retainer with Dr. Sierk and once again, he went above and beyond to accommodate a packed schedule and even pulled a spot for us on the one day he wasn't supposed to work. I just left Dr. Sierk's office for an orthodontic consultation for my son, but we will not being going back. Before even seeing the doctor, I was cornered by the financial coordinator, who asked probing questions about our finances. Um, I'm an accountant and my husband is an IT Manager, we have health insurance and awesome credit, but unfortunately you won't know because we're taking our business elsewhere. I will not give business to doctors who clearly put finances over patient care. Once Dr. Sierk did finally see us, he gave a cursory examination and provided the least information and options of other orthodontist we've seen (consultations from 2 others, much more thorough). Over the past ten years four family members (including me) have had orthodontic treatment from Dr. Sierk. We each had different treatment plans from an 11 month treatment to straighten a few bottom teeth to an intensive six year plan. All our teeth are beautiful thanks to Dr. Sierk and their team. I brag to everyone I know that the entire Sierk staff has the absolute BEST customer service. We've never had to wait more than five minutes for our appointment and everyone is so friendly. Dr. Sierk even came in on the weekend for an emergency situation for my daughter. They make you feel like you are a true family member. After doing our research in finding an orthodontist we had come down to two that we were very pleased with. I let my daughter pick which one she felt the most comfortable and she choose Dr. Sierk. All the staff made her feel very special and important. We have had a great experience with the whole team, from the Doc himself to the girls helping him and the front desk. I could not ask for any better for an overall wonderful experience with something that can be a little frightful and overwhelming for a middle schooler. I loved especially that they let me make payments the whole treatment period. This made it more economical and allowed it to happen since I didn't have insurance to help. I highly recommend them.
