We rented the "lakeview manor" (luxury cabin) conveniently located right behind oakside restaurant. Walking distance to the village was only 3-5 minutes! When booking with Lakefront Cabins they offer a 20% discount on boat rentals through pleasure point marina. We took advantage of this great value. Lakeview Manor cabin comes with an AC/DC pin ball machine, when I went to play it, one of the flippers wasn't working so I sent a service request out to Lake front cabins and they immediately sent a technician. Within an hour it was fixed. Very much appreciated! The cabin is equipped with oversized TV's, state of the art fireplaces, and modern style finishes throughout. It's a must stay if you're planning on visiting big bear.

What I noticed about the location of this cabin was that it was further away from the heavy tourist areas but close enough to grocery stores, restaurants and shops. So if you are looking for peace and quiet this is the perfect getaway from the everyday stresses of life. This cabin includes a living room with a cute fireplace, a small but full kitchen with a eating area, full bathroom (water pressure is good and it heats up pretty quickly), a bedroom with a closet, access to the backyard, a front porch and a cozy loft with a flatscreen TV that I didn't touch once. I was primarily there solo to detox from the busy life of Los Angeles and not to ski since I was there beginning of May. Snuggle Bear Cabin had everything I needed to detox. I laid out my yoga mat and meditation pillow upstairs in the loft and it had an inviting view of tall trees out the window. It was a perfect environment to reflect on life, letting all creative juices flow, read and write. The solitude was exceptionally welcome. The final full day that I was there, my boyfriend came up to join me. And really...all we did was snuggle. The home is in a nice area of Big Bear Lake and looked beautiful in the listing photos. Unfortunately, our experience was very different, particularly regarding cleanliness and comfort. We found ants around the kitchen sink, on the counter, inside board games, on the floor, and even a dead ant in the refrigerator. We also found live spiders in the bathroom and dead flies on the floor and stairs. The master bathroom shower curtain had visible mold spots. The home was also uncomfortably warm during our summer stay, making it difficult to sleep. The downstairs game room AC worked well, but the upstairs remained very warm despite setting the thermostat to 73F. There were stains on the living room sofa and scuff marks and dirt on the walls and doors. Due to the overall cleanliness concerns, we chose not to use the hot tub. Overall, the location was nice, but the cleanliness issues, insects, mold, and inadequate cooling significantly impacted our stay.
