About a year ago I let my son in-law borrow my chainsaw for the weekend, little did I know he had almost no experience with chainsaws... I run a Stihl 444 Magnum (One of the powerful saws that Stihl makes) which is definitely not a saw for beginners... Long story short my saw came back pissed off and barley running, turns out the head gasket was blown while in my son in-laws possession. I took the saw into Sierra cycle to have it repaired and initially everything seemed decent, the staff was very friendly and said they'd have it back in working shape within about a week... Two weeks went by without a word from Sierra Cycle, so I called the shop and after a lengthy discussion was told that there was no record or memory of my saw ever being dropped off... I was asked to bring in my copy of the work order, so I did, that didn't help my endeavor though because now I was being told that my saw was picked up already... I wasn't about to let my saw just vanish. I dug and dug looking into every possibility that presented itself and eventually after 3 months I found a young guy in town that had 90% of my saw, vin numbers don't lie but unfortunately the staff at Sierra Cycle does. The young man told me he had purchased the majority of my saw in a crate amongst other chainsaw parts and guess who he bought it from? The son of Andy who is the owner of Sierra Cycle. Be careful folks, that business is shady on a good day, you'll never catch me doing business with such crooked folks. I'm confident that karma will come out victorious on my accord... Andy is the coolest Guy you will ever meet. that was an old Harley Davidson dealership from back in the 1960s and he bought it while it was a still a Harley Davidson Dealership the 80s. During the Dixie fire, I got a flat tire on my road king I had to trailer my motorcycle from Greenville all the way around through Susanville back into Quincy and he fixed my tire for free. My log splitter blew the motor Sierra Cycle had a nice Honda motor. I purchased the motor and he mounted it for free and then dropped it off at my house. Andy has done so many solid things for me through the years. Super nice and personable and I don't even know him. It's a great shop just to pull into and with that David man painting on the front of the Building it doesn't get any better than that. just stop in and say hi when you're riding by. read more

These guys are great. My battery died and we had a big ride the next day. I couldn't make it there before closing so they said just put your money through the mail slot and the battery will be behind the planter to the right of the door. Sure enough it was. No one does this for there customers anymore.I left $10 extra. read more

My riding partner had changed his rear tire (at home) right before a ten day trip. He noticed that something was not right with his rear brake when we started the trip. I looked for a shop along our route and found Sierra Cycle so we stopped in. We were amazed at the reception; the owner, Andy, came right out and looked things over and had a mechanic (Tanner) take the caliper off. He noticed that a spring had gotten out of alignment when my friend put the wheel back on and fixed it. We were back on the road in forty minutes! Amazing shop! read more

I can't say enough about the service I received at Sierra Cycle. I spent Saturday riding single track in the Plumas NF. Woke up Sunday to a rear flat. Driving through Quincy, noticed Sierra Cycle and pulled in. Although they were closed a mechanic was working on a personal project. When I asked if he would be able to service my tire he said "no problem." Not only did he fix the flat but also serviced my chain and all for an excellent price. Andy & his shop are awesome! My husband and I were near the end of our 3,000+ mile vacation when my rear tire went flat in Graeagle, CA. We had stayed in Quincy the night before and saw the Sierra Cycle shop. We were able to get a hold of Andy who drove the 25 miles to Graeagle with his trailer. He trailered my bike back to Quincy, sold us a tire and installed it. Had his shop not been there, we would have had to been towed to Reno or Truckee. Andy did a great job and his prices were fair and reasonable. He called us the next morning just to make sure all was well. THANKS ANDY!! read more

This shop is top notch and professional! I found Sierra Cycle through yelp and I was in need of some help since my motorcycle's battery was dead and in the process of trying to remove it, I noticed there was a pin hole leak in my fuel line. Yikes! What's a girl to do? I quickly gave a call and a super cool guy named Andy answered to my worrisome needs. I told him what the problem was while crossing my fingers that he would come to my rescue. I wasn't even sure he would be able to work on my Yamaha cruiser since it's even hard for me to find a decent/honest mechanic in the East Bay. Low and behold, he told me he most definitely would work on my bike AND come and pick it up before noon! OMG! Andy to the rescue! After driving 45 minutes to Portola, I met Andy at my cabin and he was professional and personable. One look at my bike he exactly knew the model/engine size and gave me an honest assessment on the problems. He even told me he could get it all fixed up at the end of the day! Wow...talk about fast service! I've been told by my other mechanic in the East Bay that I needed a new set of tires since the sides were starting to crack and asked Andy if he would give me an estimate on how much it would cost since he was going to have it at his shop. He was honest and told me he would need to order them since the sizes I had were irregular (I knew this already) and that it would take several days for him to get them. I asked if I could leave my bike with him till the next weekend I came back to the Sierras and he was more than willing to accommodate my request. Several days later, Andy calls me to let me know he was able to get everything done and when I asked him what it was going to cost me, I was glad to hear the price as I would have thought it would be much higher from past experiences with dealership mechanics. When I came to pick her up, he went over with me what was done and showed me the cool flame tires he got at a great deal. When I went to go and pay the final bill, he went as far as to give me a deal on the work that he did! I was more than excited with his impeccable service! I have found an honest mechanic!!! I will definitely bring my bike in to Sierra cycle for all my service needs!!! Thanks Andy...you are awesome!!! ps. I rode here from Susanville to get a special order Avon Distanzia for my xr650r. The owner and his wife are awesome. Even let me sit in the shop and watch next to a HUGE heater(it was a cold 85 mile ride). He switched out my tire fast and was very well priced. He even lubed the chain and checked the front tire psi which was low. Im planning on going there to get my suspension redone. I highly recommend this shop to anyone willing to listen. read more

I had my 2007 Polaris 500 scrambler I took it too Sierra cycle for them to do work on the rear end of my quad bushings bearings swingarm five months later I'm having issues with my quad again. Called Sierra cycle talk to the owner and he said bring in paperwork and quad he said he'll take a look at it today September 9, 2015 I went in there with my quad and paperwork had him look at it he said for sure it was messed up and after that I said we can either handle it civilly or in court after that he started cussing me out telling me not to threaten him so I said I'll see you in court hopefully review site looks into this account. read more

We came down from the steep road into Quincy when my friend noticed he had no back brake on his Harley. A local told us about Sierra Cycle and we drove out there to be immediately helped by the mechanics who dropped what they were doing to put us back on the road. They knew what they were doing even though this is not a Harley shop and the charges were absolutely reasonable. First rate. Saved us a tremendous headache. read more

I had been a Rusty Warren customer for many years. Had previously had good experiences shopping for saw parts etc. and having my yard equipment serviced at Sierra Cycle since they first opened. Owner had been quite friendly and helpful until yesterday. The weld they did on my woodsplitter did not hold and the tune-up and oil change I requested never got done. They charged me for the weld repair on the splitter, but the other work did not get done. On the mower, I brought it in for a tune-up and it turned out it needed a new carb. I was told a week turn around time and the cost. A 3 weeks later I called and was told they had not gotten to it yet. Another week went by and they called to say my stuff was done. I picked up everything paid and all seemed fine. When I got home I tried to fire up the mower, it would cut out and die seconds after it started. Upon inspection I found the new carb linkage had been installed incorrectly, the air filter had been replaced without cleaning out the housing, the oil had not been changed nor had any of the other work that is typically done in a tune up, blade not sharpened, spark plug dirty and not gapped etc. I decided to call back. On the phone they were very understanding, apologised and offered to remedy the situation as soon as I can bring my equipment back in. When I brought my stuff in to have the work done, the guy got super defensive and refused to do the work. He then denied he ever spoke with me about it, told me his guys would never make that kind of mistake and that I must not have asked for the work to be done. They kept no transaction records and denied any wrongdoing. He then told me to get out of his shop. Not really sure what I did to set him off. You lost my business. read more

Cruising through Quincy on a ride from Tahoe and returning to Seattle and I came across Sierra Cycle and was surprised they were open on Monday. Andy and Nathan were extremely accommodating as I needed to change my oil on my bike. They helped me out and I was back on the road again in no time. Very clean shop and great customer service!
